Knowing the way Nurmi works I think he did know but didn't say anything until Juan played the video in court. That way he could get another objection in and another sidebar. Maybe he is going for a world record on objections and sidebars inside of a courtroom.

He seems to eat, drink, and breathe objections. Anything to disrupt the flow.

IMO

I do believe that's his strategy, yep.

?.. I probably asked about this during the original trial, and I don't know whether he's still doing this, but shouldn't any judge get extremely irked by the way Nurmi has a tendency to say "Sidebar, Judge" and then immediately start striding up to the bench? It makes it look like he is instructing her to hold one rather than asking her to grant one. I would think no matter how much a judge is bending over in "fairness" that they would not tolerate that sort of behavior for one second.
?

This short clip demonstrates the point you make about Nurmi addressing JSS inappropriately:

Juan Martinez is respectful to JSS, in contrast.

On HLN they said one male jury was zoned in on Jodi during the testimony. Would this be juror 12 and Jodi wants him off?

I have to wonder how these jurors feel being honed in on by the DT? I know how I would feel if someone made spurious accusations about my integrity. I know, they're only doing their job, but they should have their facts absolutely straight before pointing the finger, imho.

One juror sits w/mouth wide open as they witness video of #JodiArias telling Flores that she was NOT at Travis' house. She was NOT there.

Oh, gosh, now Nurmi will ask for a mistrial again! jmo

Juan is asking if the K-Y Jelly was ever found at Travis's house during the search...Detective Flores says they didn't find it #jodiarias

So along with the check, she brought KY Jelly with her...and then took it with her when she left after the murder.

If that is not premeditation I don't know what is...unless Jodi just travels around with lubricants, which is certainly possible.

Just...ugh. Ugh.

Well, we didn't get to read it, that's the problem. We only got to read that certain motions described in a word or two were granted or denied. If we had the opportunity to read the motion, response, reply, and oral argument transcript we would have a clue what was actually going on. ;)

For purposes of this mitigation stage, I am much happier with her lies than I would be with a confession. :)

Thanks for all your professional insight into this cra-cra trial AZL!

No matter how we feel individually about the death penalty, and no matter how difficult it is for a jury to sentence a murderer to death, we know that hundreds of juries over the years have been able to come to the decision to inflict the ultimate penalty. So there is no reason whatsoever to think that THIS jury will not do so.

Does anyone know if this is expected to last as long as the first trial? IMO it seems to be moving quicker than I though.

If I recall the first trial was moving along rather quickly until Jodie got on the stand. Then it became pure drudgery just to watch her and Nurmi. jmo

@monicalindstrom: Throughout the interrogation video #JodiArias remains calm and collected, no tears, no anxiety, no fear/QUOTE]

respectfully snipped and BBM: And no remorse

Despite her fog, iirc JA remembered to leave the bloody scene with the rope she claimed they'd played games with.
Lest not forget camera and palm print.

She had it all planned. The palm print fits perfectly with the "intruder" story. As we all know, Jodi weaves truth into her lies. The story she told Flores could be half true.

No doubt she was filled with rage, but, at the end of the day, the killing was cruel and she has no remorse.

Yep, Arizona's gotten other women there and Juan has an excellent conviction record, including Wendy Andriano, one of the women on Death Row.

JSS "Mr. Nurmi, are you asking to approach?"
Nurmi "Yeah."
JSS "You may approach."

Mama "Did you say please?"
3 year old "Yeah."

But that's stupid, because they can match her DNA to the palm print, and the palm print is like a fingerprint. They know she was there during the murder, yet had no injuries, other than her finger, which Ryan Burns said was bandaged.

Yes, well, I never thought she was smart.

She had not planned the haste clean-up. I bet she had no clue as to when she going to get caught. She had plenty of time to formulate a half-assed story.

Has anyone said what was with juror 12 today?

Was that Juror 12, I think, that was asked to stay behind when the jury was dismissed today?

I don't think she had a clue in how bloody it would be ,and that Travis would fight so hard surprised her.

#JodiArias explains "route" to Flores. Claims she got lost, slept in car. "Drawing a map" for Flores.

Who sleeps in their car in the middle of the desert in June?

#jodiarias brings up Cancun and how she was a little jealous he was going but she could go anytime she wanted #3tvarias

I'm actually amazed that she DIDN'T go to Cancun at the same time in order to ruin his trip. She might even have been able to lure him somewhere and then kill him THERE. She would, of course, say he told her to go home, so she did. She would then suggest that he may have been assassinated by a Mexican drug cartel.
