It depends on how you interpret the phrase "current trial or hearing" in the rule. However, I assume the judge (correctly IMO) determined the statements not to be hearsay, because JM was allowed to use the transcript.

Do you think Nurmi did not want to hear all those objections he had? Nurmi had to wait until JM was finished with the question before he could object. He may not want this jury to hear some of those questions. Not sure the video was edited.

Jodi told the detective that Travis's friends told her about the death and thought she could help since they were close. Ha. Now the detective is calling her out on her lie by letting her know that he knows Travis's friends did NOT like her. That must have stung.

Can you all imagine how long those 5 days were for JA as she waited to hear about the murder she had committed? It gives me GREAT PLEASURE to have her thinking ( for 5 days) that Travis might still be alive!

Hooefully her false accusation about roommate registers as a pattern of behavior... both the lie and the nature of the lie.

I absolutely agree. I knew she tried to blame the room mate but I never knew she tried to pin the sexual predator stuff on him. That is a very disturbing pattern. When she accuses men and wants them found "guilty" of something to take blame off her, she makes up lies of a sexual nature.

This is not coming out very clear but you get it lol.

But JS did allow in the guilt phase all the videos of when Arias did MSM interviews and they also showed parts of her interview with Flores.

I honestly don't understand why the video cant be played and the jury can read along using the legal transcript of the trial.

If it were the court video, and the lawyers had an opportunity to view and order edits of it prior to trial, and the judge had an opportunity to rule on objections to any misleading edits, then yes.

If it's a media video, then IMO the lawyers ought to stipulate to foundation just to avoid forcing the jury to watch the horrible court video, and/or the judge could rule there were sufficient indicia of reliability to allow it at the mitigation stage. But the lawyers would still need the opportunity to view, edit, object to misleading edits, etc.

I guarantee you that the videos used at the main trial phase were supported by proper foundation and that the defense had seen them, filed objections, and had the objections ruled upon prior to trial.
