Juan might not have even been aware this was something he needed to do. I mean, it's previous testimony how can you object that?

Nurmi was just trying to score points by keeping the video out. And I guess he won that point but did he really? Juan still brought the testimony in just through transcripts instead of video. It didn't make a difference anyway.

Even that is out of character. JM knows everything!

Wow...they are starting to look alike, methinks...

The day he couldn't handle it anymore came when she peeped in on him with a girlfriend and accused him the next day. That was the day she said he ran away from her, only to be found knocking his head against the wall. No doubt in absolute frustration and anger. RATHER than hitting her. Even in that extreme circumstance he exercised control.

Yes!

How would you or anyone react if someone was constantly snooping and accusing you of cheating for talking to your friends of the opposite sex, and especially after you've already broken up and you have no obligation to be loyal to them?

It sounds mind numbingly exhausting.

I do think they were in a relationship. But it was very short and the premise that it continued after they'd broken up is just BS. If you are broken up, you are broken up, no matter how twisted the relationship continues to be after that. ALV wants to say, well, they broke up, yes but they still acted like they were in a relationship so they weren't really. It doesn't work like that.

Knowing the way Nurmi works I think he did know but didn't say anything until Juan played the video in court. That way he could get another objection in and another sidebar. Maybe he is going for a world record on objections and sidebars inside of a courtroom.

He seems to eat, drink, and breathe objections. Anything to disrupt the flow.

IMO

I agree. ALV is not of the "friends with benefits" generation. And for a so called relationship expert, she should have been keeping up.

Such an out of character move/mistake for JM then. Not the not-telling Nurmi part but the "not-telling Nurmi when the law says he has to" part.

The law doesn't say he has to, but if he doesn't, the judge may not allow him to use the video. Like most aspects of the law, it's not as clear-cut as people would like it to be. And many times when you're preparing for trial, you think of something you want to use at midnight the night before. :)

Yes oh yes! Add to that....she literally never left him alone. Look at her pattern of texts and calls to him. She invented excuses to be in touch, texted every few minutes, and didn't relent until he responded. I would have felt SUFFOCATED. I think he did too but felt guilty for feeling that way. Just as she intended.

I wish the journalists would knock it off, commenting on JW's looks. Not necessary and very unkind. I simply can't imagine the stress she is under defending CMJA and the toll this is taking on her personal life.

I am not saying I like her style, but I give her credit for defending the indefensible because of the defendants constitutional rights. IMO, JMV

I think they all look fine. The media is probably using a HD-camera to take pictures and no one looks great in those. Plus, in my opinion, it's unkind to make remarks on someone's looks. Unless they've shot and stabbed someone - then it's alright with me! :p

The relationship thing is interesting.... I'm old enough to feel 100% comfortable believing that a few months of long distance miscommunication, manipulation, and sex as a weapon was not a relationship in any meaningful sense of the word.

Younger folks seem to maybe see things differently. And the jury is young-ish. Hmm.

To be clear, I didn't post that photo of JSS because of how she looked, I just thought the expression she was making toward Juan was funny.
