How does Travis earn his way out of being stabbed, slashed, shot in the face, and left to rot?

Nurmi is trying hard to make the jury forget premeditation. Premeditation plans took weeks!!!!!!

The mitigation he wrote up made it sound like she just snapped that day.

Maybe it was just that...JA was tired of relationships that went nowhere. She seemed pretty lost coming into the relationship with Travis. He was going to be her everything...answer to all of her problems. Except...that's not what he wanted.

This is the only thing that gives me a little comfort about LWOP. She has to eram her way out which means she would have to stop being and acting like....Jodi. I do not expect her to do that.
