IMO, the onky thing Jodi had going for her was her body.
Her teeth look like dracula.
I've been a blonde all my life, not sure if Jodi's hair fakeness added to her looks.
With that being said, Travis did seem to be more attracted to brunettes.

I can't remember who said that Jodi went blonde so she wouldn't look Hispanic.

I beg to differ; way long ago the Mormon religion (fundamentalist sects) did have a death sentence for those accused of sexual misconduct, particularly adultery. There are cases that have been written about concerning the sentence--being slashed from ear to ear and the blood having to spill upon the ground. This was the only way the sinner/violator could gain access to righteousness before God. And that was what Jodi did; in her mind, she helped Travis into heaven. That was the reason for the throat slitting and hauling him all the way back into the shower after slitting his throat in the hallway--the blood had to go down the pipes and get to the earth. She is totally capable of this mentality and the means needed to achieve it. Today's Mormonism: not acceptable, but there are some records of blood atonement from the past.

The killer may be delusional enough to have herself convinced that "blood atonement" justified her murder of Travis. But the reality is, that she wanted to torture Travis to death. She couldn't tolerate rejection, she couldn't tolerate being challenged by Travis, and she wanted revenge, pure and simple. :moo: And just to clarify, by delusional, I don't mean mentally ill, I mean deluded by pure evil. If there is anyone interested in studying demon possession, this would probably be a good beginner course. IMO

Yes, actually, I think she said it. Not 100% sure, but sounds like a narcissistic trait.

I don't remember this, this was a juror question? :waitasec: Why would Juan not want that answered ? AZ lawyer ? Any light on this one ? TIA

Doesn't make sense to me--objections to jury questions are made and ruled upon all in a batch at the bench, so we wouldn't ever know which lawyer objected to any jury question.

Jodi is scorned woman to the extreme.
She thought she was Travis' forever.
The moment he called her out, she was going to do anything to win his love. She failed miserably the day she arrived in Mesa.
IMO, of course.

IIRC, Jodi started to answer the question with an, "I can only speculate but..." and Juan objected saying, "she said before she doesn't remember." (And I can't remember if it was at this point Juan also said, "if she remembers she should tell us"). Maybe it was because she was about to "speculate."

ETA: just watched pocketaccent's link, and I was wrong, he only objected, "speculation." I was thinking of the question of what Jodi felt while she was stabbing Travis.

Teen, or schoolgirl sex fantasy would fit in with the pigtails.
It was a weird statement. But I honestly think he was making it up as he went along and said something horribly awkward and weird.

I agree. Perhaps 'a girl/woman having her first O' would have been better. But I don't blame TA for anything.

Well. Shoot. Everything I'm reading about today in court has the defense winning today and state's case took a big hit. The state rested today, and the question everyone asked was did the State do a good job of showing the new jury all of the evidence and facts that prove premeditation and cruelty and guilt and the answer from everyone is no, plus Nurmi did a good job of tearing down what the State "proved". I'm bummed.

I found that portion on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq7P5KmBmVk&list=UUCfAAVgswkJwKiH92xzlCbA
It is on 1:41:25. Both Martinez and Nurmi objected when JA began to speculate.

Oh, OK. If she said she didn't remember, that was the answer to the jury question. I assume both lawyers objected to her speculation because neither one knew for sure what she would say. ;)

Where are you reading? These people sound like they're suffering from wrongitis.

Wow, you're on top of it, thanks pocket, :) .... so it's about "speculation". Remembering back, this is where the goal was to convince everyone that she was in a brain "fog" and had no memory of events. So naturally, all she could do was "speculate" . Thanks again :)

ETA: And thanks to MeeBee and to AZlawyer for adding to the clarification. You guys are awesome. :)

You are welcome! I usually do my exercise routine with JA trial on. Never get tired of watching Martinez do his magic and he makes my exercises pleasurable.

Jeff Gold - warning this is 40 minutes long. http://www.spreecast.com/events/the-gold-patrol-st-jodi-state-s-case

Here is a blogger saying the same thing http://reallybigmeandog.com.

I read another article about today but I've closed the window and can't remember who wrote it. Maybe tomorrow morning I can find it!

I only read RBMD's but I'm not sure I follow her logic in saying death is off the table. How can it be? They haven't even begun mitigation? They were just getting caught up? I just don't get it.

Yeah, I agree. The conclusion to that blog post just seemed to come out of nowhere.

Well Jeff Gold kept saying that the defense is trying to put doubt in the juror's minds, and if they have doubts they can't vote for DP. I dunno. I'm just trying to follow this thing thru tweets and other people's opinions and so far the opinions I've read today all say the defense scored big today. I hate not being able to see for myself and judge for myself.

Oh Gawd, Really Big Mean Dog sure has a way with words LOL!

"To summarize the sex tape, close your eyes, picture sloppy beef curtains, a boomerang dick and then step on a cats tail. That pretty much sums it up."

Well, Jeff Gold is of the opinion she will never get the death penalty so I'm not surprised by this response.

I think it's far too early to hit the panic button though. It's only day 5! The defense can have a really good day one week and a really bad day the next week, just like the first trial. You never know what'll happen. Sure, Nurmi may have a good point or two. But they also heard just yesterday what a cold, cunning and manipulative liar Jodi is. It's still coming together. I'd be surprised if they have their minds made up at all, at this point. They're just trying to process what they're hearing and I'm sure they are a bit confused.

Saying the defense scored big today means it's all over is a huge over reaction.
