Silver alert issued for missing Smithfield man

The Smithfield police issued a silver alert Tuesday afternoon for a man last seen outside of the Providence Place Mall.

Howard McGhean, 66, was last seen around 2:30 p.m. Sunday as he was being dropped off outside of the mall. Police say he has dementia.

#SILVERALERT-RI issued for Howard McGhean, age 66, 5'9, 125 lbs, has long white hair and a white beard (outdated photo). Has onset dementia. Last seen outside PVD Place Mall wearing red parka, dk colored pants and baseball cap. If seen please call Smithfield PD, 401-231-2500.
