A version of the earlier video (posted and deleted by the FBI) is back, this time without the cards identifying camera locations. When the Boston Globe posted the original to YouTube, they blanked out the text revealing camera locations, too.

Agree, the most curious footage is at 14:16 where it looks like he sees someone, runs away, and then that someone chases him. Am I seeing things?
Yes, almost as if he recognized the person and knew the person would recognize him. Makes me wonder if he is local or a student. Someone not from the area or not going to school there likely wouldn't be super concerned with being recognized, just the general wanting to cover up or avoid cameras. It looks way more suspicious trying to avoid someone than just walking past them so it is curious as to why he would run away. He didn't try to avoid the woman walking across the street, he followed behind her and watched her walk off.

I started wondering if the shooter might be (yes, I'm serious) a WOMAN, until I saw the belly in the closeup shots. I just couldn't imagine a pregnant woman doing this, although I suppose it's not impossible.

Does Brown require student ID on entry? My college is in a major city and it's impossible to enter any building with classrooms without either swiping in with the security guard or sneaking in a back exit. My partner's rural college had no security to speak of, you could just walk in. If he's not a student, ID might not stop the perp from getting in at the time of the shooting but it may have prevented him from scoping out the inside of buildings or using the restroom. And if he is a student then the university should have a list of everyone who swiped into campus buildings that day.
Doubtful. Most colleges don't have that. Frankly, I think it would be a logistical nightmare, especially with college students. Plus, it wouldn't be hard for a bad actor to foil it, saying, "Oh, I forgot my ID can you hold the door?"

I’m hoping that those people caught on camera have called in and talked to the police by now.

Could you post the video of him running? Thanks!

And the people driving by in their cars. Possible one of them may have a dash cam.

I'm curious about the POI running. An overweight guy is not someone who likes to run. My feeling has been that he is not from Providence since I'd think he would have been outed by now, but now I'm not sure. Maybe he wanted to avoid the person he was running from because he recognized him.

In a post COVID world, a facemask isn't going to be much help. We have a box of fifty sat by our front door to grab from on our way out, still. And plenty of people would likewise still have them lying around in their homes. They don't expire like milk, and for a long time, it was compulsory or at least courteous to wear them in public at all times. I'd expect most people have at least a couple somewhere in their home, or in the bottom of a bag they use regularly.

MOO

True. Once the Covid lockdown started in NYC, my family and I had already stocked up on everything we could find. My sister had even called 3M to order masks, before they were omnipresent.

I still have literally at least 50 masks that I have stored in my daughter’s old room, so I agree that the presence of a mask on this guy doesn’t really signify much more than a easy attempt to obscure his face.

IMO

I also had this strange feeling.
Especially as this person is walking with back ramrod straight.
Women usually do this - trying hard not to slouch hehe
And...there is this ponytail.

But I'm not going to cut off my arm ;)
(as we say in my country)
that this person is a female.

That part of the video is very strange to me as well. I can't really think of what would cause two people to run at that same part of the street. I was thinking there could be a bus stop further down the street, but I don't see anything like that on Google Maps.

I don’t believe the shooter has a ponytail. I think it’s clear from the “enhanced” videos that it’s just the hood from the jacket moving around.

The words he uttered before the attack are the key, the motive IMO.

But it seems
nobody understood their meaning.
Did he use foreign language?
Does he suffer from some MH issues and uttered some gibberish?
JMO but the guy seems so on edge in the videos that I think he might have just stumbled on his words.

I’ve just been catching up on this thread. Firstly, RIP to the victims of this horrific attack.

On the CCTV footage he doesn’t seem to be in any rush.. infact I’d go as far as to say hes killing time. I get the feeling this class has been targeted for some reason rather than it being an entirely random attack MOO

To build off that, as of right now it seems pretty well planned at least in regard to not leaving a ton of evidence behind. Also them seemingly killing time would also to me that there was something specific they were waiting for. It seems unlikely to me that someone who seemingly planned the shooting pretty well and seemed so nonchalant about killing time would walk into the wrong room. What I’m saying is I definitely agree and that my prevailing theory would be that he was targeting that room for a specific reason, whether it was someone in it or what the room represented.

Yes! There’s one clip of someone – either the POI or someone who walked into the street later – running. There’s another of him running closer to the camera. In the latter, he’s running very comfortably and that surprised me. Looks like an entirely different person. (I’m not saying it’s the wrong person, just that the running is fluid.) And, as you say, why the running, so long before the shooting?
