RI - Mass Shooting at Brown University - Providence 13 Dec 2025

No arrests as of yet. There was a man who was questioned by LE and then allowed to return to his vehicle.
cops: "are you the brown university shooter?"
guy: "no"
cops: (look at each other and shrug) ... "you're free to go."

With all the activity in this area my guess is that the car park has CCTV and that it shows that he parked his car there not so long ago. I think if they thought the car had been there for days and shooter fled elsewhere there would be less activity.

Fingers crossed they get him soon without further casualties

CNN interviewed a friend of the MIT professor. He said he knew of no connection between the victim and anyone linked to Brown University.

ETA: Adding that the friend was a fellow MIT professor. They both do research work there in addition to teaching.

Also massive props to the Reddit poster (and to the other poster on Reddit who called it into LE)

From what I am seeing it seems they might be the person who has linked these cases together with the suspicious car tip which has ultimately led to identifying a suspect.

Reporter, after being asked the question, says that to her, she believes the POI is inside the storage building, because the number of police there and the whole place being secured. FBI, bullet proof vests, more police arriving, including from Providence.

Kind of interesting that the reporter from Boston 5 is allowed to walk right behind the building..

Law enforcement examining abandoned car in Salem, NH with license plate believed to be connected to suspect

From CNN's John Miller and Holmes Lybrand

Law enforcement is swarming an area in Salem, New Hampshire after finding an abandoned car with a license plate that matched one of the plates of the car that they believe was being used by the suspect, two law enforcement officials told CNN.

A license plate reader flagged one of the license plates that matched the car the suspect was driving. Law enforcement officials tell CNN that the suspect had used more than one set of license plates on the vehicle.

Reddit will be redeemed! They got a black eye from the Boston bombing fiasco.

Agggh and there it is, he had more than one set of plates! He fully intended to get away. What else did he have planned?

It really seems like he put a lot of planning into this.

The connection is going to be what the perp thought the connection was, imo.

No. And from what I’m seeing, I don’t think he is.
I think it's possible he fled before LE showed up.

But, idk, of course.

He’s absolutely not in there based on the live footage the cops had their head and chests all exposed they weren’t even attempting to cover themselves. MOO
