For Muzikman and RH;

We ask again, what is your point? This may never make it to trial. You are getting paid by television to state what you think, and you have admitted you refuse to become DP qualified. Your record speaks for itself. You stated everyone on websites are housewives, and perhaps a percentage is, HOWEVER, you are not an expert in Death Penalty cases. Do you not realize you are harming yourself more? We may read your "Book on This Case" from the library, but not purchase it ever. It is now so boringly over that no one cares, and, no it does not compare to OJ. What is up dude?

Mods can delete or "expunge" my message or ban me, big deal, but I stand with truth, not with looking to play a part where I have none. Just so you all know a sham.

Tell these folks at WS that you are writing a book, also ABC, NBC, CBS, and that you have no right to voice your college teachings, without years of practice. Tell them the truth!!!!! You are lying to these people for your own interests!

Thanks for asking kindly Muzikman, I cannot stand it further.

Who says the prosecution needs our help? Is someone planning on putting together a report or something to send to the SA to make sure the SA gets it right?

The way I see it, IF something is uncovered that is beneficial for the prosecution to know, they will find it here themselves. We can get pretty loud, ya know. ;) WS is a pretty good darn resource in itself and I am sure the SA is aware of that.

I certainly wouldn't feel any obligation to compose a formal report. lol

Over a year ago, Cheney Mason made a number of comments about this case, one being he wouldn't touch it unless he were paid $1 million up front. Lo and Behold a year later, he is on the defense team!

So we have no idea who else might be on the defense team a month or two or three down the road, do we? Circumstances change, minds are changed, and we do not know what the future holds.

If RH had just said: Hey guys, I have the recorded calls, here they are...
There would not be the turmoil brewing here today. Instead, everyone is concerned with agenda. If Kathy Belich dropped by and gave them to us, we would have dug in without question. I am digging into them without question, either way. They are what they are and the info gained from listening is what it is. How does that help anyone's said agenda?

I'm sure the SA has a good grasp on this case and a staff they pay to vet this kind of stuff. lol.

Mr. Hornsby since you first brought up the possibility of conspiracy then I feel I should propose one of many that seems possible. What if the conspiracy originated from a source other than inmates looking for an easy way out or law enforcement making sure a defendant was found guilty. What if it came from people close to a defendant? Say it was from someone looking for more media exposure, a way to discredit law enforcement, more material to be penned in a book or add scenes to a movie, or just cast doubt on guilt. If that were the case, one would start looking for connections to see if they make sense or if there was an abundance of coincidences that seemed to exist outside the normal range of odds. Let’s begin with a close jailhouse friendship between two felons documented by notes passed between them. The notes are mostly gibberish with room for speculation thrown in, some aspects appearing positive and others not that damaging but certainly capable of garnering much media attention. Next, the release of the information on Skye, River, George, Robyn, Maya and all the others that becomes available due to the Florida Sunshine Law. Putting that information together, how is it that George Anthony was involved with River and that her sister Skye was busy passing notes and communicating with Casey while both were incarcerated. Add to that the Casey and Baez involvement in getting the Walsh attorneys to help Robyn with her case while they were an active part of Casey’s defense. Then the whole thing comes to light through Maya that was receiving visits from Robyn’s father. I’m not a mathematician but I would guess the connections are off the chart. What say you?

Aw, come on now guys. If we had access to the calls we would listen to them no matter who supplied them.

Tricia and the mods don't see a problem with it and this is Tricia's forum.

Defense attorneys that handle capital murder cases say a lot in the beginning, no matter what.

CM did make some statements, but watch how those turn, or how CM does. He is there for the same reason AL is. Life not Death. That is his only purpose. He did not want this case, he was asked by quite a few in the background because this case has gone amuck. It is to preserve justice ano have the Government remain in balance. No sensationalism, just truth behind the cases, and KC's is not the worst ever, sad to say. Balance with an experienced defense attorney is necessary, do not be surprised if others, not JB, leave the room before trial.

No, I don't think that's true. He was asked by a reporter why he was on this case and he said because it's fun.

WORD!!

Mr. Ashton will not put any of these gypsies, tramps, theives, drug addicts etc. on the stand. IMO Why would he??? He won't need their testimony.

I believe he will use her own words in these letters to prove what a lying, cold hearted, selfish piece of **** she is. ME ME ME!!!!!

You do not understand. "Fun" to a Capital Murder defense attorney does NOT mean fun. I know, I work for many and have for 20 years, and, some that have recently gotten cases when they wish they could retire before their hearts give out after all of surgeries possible. Because they have not retired and they wish their families more money, and WORSE, the case is so bad only those particular attorneys can handle them with balance and justice, they are called in. Those dying to retire (and almost dying) do not want cases anymore, they do it because they know no one else can. They know balance requires it. Over 90 cases for one whom is in the same situation. Death Penalty cases. So, CM saying it will be fun, is CM saying dang it, I wanted to retire, this is a big pain in my behind and it may cost my life because the State has a good case.

Here's another member feeling pretty uncomfortable about today's assignment to assist Mr. Hornby with his agenda to discredit Yuri Melich. I realise WS'ers would have found the links themselves anyway, and sleuthed out any pertinent information, but I would hope it would have been in an effort to catch KC making incriminating statements, and/or to determine whether Robyn et al made up their observations, not to support someone in their rather obvious professional jealousy, IMO. Count me out.

Starting to sound like CA et al isn't it? Try to dig up some dirt on someone, anyone, preferably someone in LE.. anything rather than have KC face the punishment she deserves. I don't get it. Why people want her to get off scot free?

Then maybe he should rethink what he says in public... and describe it as a challenge, not 'fun' as he did. What an ominous start.

Sorry kids. You can't take back what you say on t.v. Remember all of this is recorded too, if you get in trouble that is, or have a snoopy friend, spouse, gf, bf, and so on.

That is true for all of us.

No offense but:

You missed the point about attorneys always talking and saying nothing of importance, especially when it comes to Court. They can say what they want until trial date. Different ball fields, or war games if you would like. Still love the question though.

What people? I know of very few that want her off scott free. It's about digging up the facts, not the dirt. Wanting to know the truth (even if it isn't pro-prosecution) does not make one pro-defense, nor pro-Hornsby, nor pro-Schaefer, nor pro-anyone for that matter. Just pro-truth.

I have what might be a solution. If people take exception to listening through the calls that Hornsby posted, then maybe they can, instead, listen to the calls that will surely be posted by other media later

Let's face it, we'd be listening to these calls either way.

The CALLS, in and of themselves, are not biased. They are what they are. They are are the same calls that the prosecution will hear, and hopefully listen to. Same calls that any jury might hear one day, though I doubt it. Same calls that the defense will hear, and use, etc etc.

I don't see how it matters WHO posted the calls. I understand how it can make some people feel "icky" or whatever, but I just don't see the logic in how these calls are any different than anything else that has been released, just because Hornsby brought them to us.

If any other outlet had posted these calls, I guarantee websleuthers would be all over them, dissecting them like we do with EVERYTHING that has been released- from Casey's letters, to the jail visitation videos, to the cameras that used to be on the Anthony home, to Casey's texts, to the backgrounds of people who have probably meant no harm.

I just don't see why this is any more suspect that anything else that has been released.

ANYONE is free to read this forum. The defense, the prosecution, Casey, her mom, her grandma, her grandma's bff. If we think this is "helping" Hornsby "help" the defense somehow, then we might as well take down ANY theory that any of us have posted here, the polls that might sum up nicely for the defense to get a read on how a large group of people feel, the thread about what evidence is strongest, (etc ad nauseam) because quite frankly, it's a great resource for the defense, too, whether we like it or not.

So if this little thing is somehow helping the defense, imagine how much we've "helped" already with any information we've discussed, dissected.

Whether or not you use the information Hornsby has given us to actually sleuth what HE is looking for is in your own control. However, I really think it's moot.

But that's just my two cents, since we all seem to be chipping in.

BBM ULBM...
That is precisely the issue. Mr. Hornsby did NOT do that. Instead he chose to make some fairly serious accusations of impropriety against Yuri Melich without backing those accusations up AND he chose to state emphatically that KC was covering up an accidental death. Neither of these issues was either here or there, but they were INSERTED into this thread with these calls for a reason, known only to the one who did the inserting.

Now repeated attempts to get these statements qualified with something, anything, that we could sink our teeth into has been met with nothing but resistance and even instruction to "go start another thread" for said discussion, which, was done, but apparently was not appropriate either, so here we are back in the same thread these issues arose from within... although the TITLE of this thread SAYS it is about the phone calls, there was an undercurrent of almost malice toward Yuri and many of us just want to know why? :waitasec:

  • #158
babycat;

The phone calls are not important unless one side or other brings them to trial. The only relevant thing so far is KC said "blanket" before mentioned, WE think. Not happening. But listen to the calls, you will see, not going to trial. Nothing important. Just inmates chatting with family as they normally would. Not being introduced as evidence as there is none, but if you have never been exposed, something to listen to and think about.

  • #159
For me, it's not the calls, it's his accusations that make me question his motives. It gives me the oogies, and I was taught to listen to my oogies....There are other people who have the same oogies.

  • #160
I am all confused. Why are these calls even important in this case? I haven't heard Casey talked about much at all and nothing about Casey that could help or hurt the case IMO.
