Well I'll be..you don't say, am I suprised NO. Would I suspect this YES.

Missing girl's dad accused of putting headless rat in mailbox

http://www.gainesville.com/article/...d-accused-of-putting-headless-rat-in-mailbox-

I hope someone pushes for charges to be made here, this is no laughing matter. If someone did this to me I would take that as a threat for sure.
Ronald needs some serious counseling..JMO of course

In the link below, there were reported to be another individual in the cab with Cummings when the rat was put into the mailbox. In this article as well, Hank jr. made a comment about being concerned about retaliation against him.

Maybe they are a minor? Would they leave a name out for that?

I thought of that, but the way the reporting is on this case I don't think they would take that much precaution. The headline referred to RC as "Father of missing girl" instead of his name. But, like you said it may be a minor.

I'm going to take a guess and say it was because the eye witness identified Ronald Cummings and his vehicle. Of course, if the second person was interviewed by the police, I am at a loss as to why that person's name wasn't released, as well. Could it be that, since the passenger wasn't identified as having put something into the mailbox, that person's name is protected? I mean, that person isn't stated as having (ALLEGEDLY) perpetrated an act which could be reasonably perceived as intimidation, not to mention a federal crime by using the mailbox, only Ronald was identified as having done so.

Just had a gastly thought of what if the other person not identified was Jr. I certainly hope and pray, not.

No, the eye witness would have said he had a child with him....

I'm waiting for the, "Ron wouldn't do something like this," "Someone is obviously setting Ron up," etc. posts.

This isn't one of those posts, I promise, but still I am going to wait a couple of beats to see how it pans out. We have had a couple of instances where things were alleged that later seemed not to have happened and I felt a bit bamboozled. I won't be surprised if this nasty incident really happened, though.

Can you fingerprint a rat?

They are waiting for TC to file charges and he should especially since someone saw Ronald! The police also stated they will not be commenting on the case so we won't hear anything from them:

Deputies contacted Cummings, but the sheriff's office would not discuss the case. Lt. Johnny Greenwood did issue this statement on Wednesday:
"This incident is not related to the investigation of missing five year-old Haleigh Cummings; therefore, we will not be participating in interviews or providing statements regarding this incident. Our only objective is, and always has been, finding Haleigh Cummings and returning her home to her family."

IMO...It is actions such as these that makes me wonder if this is why Haleigh is missing in the first place and has been my thought since this all began...again JMO
GMAB! You don't think Tommy would put a rush on it? LOL Right...I can see him sitting around "thinking about" filing something on Ronald right now.

We do need to take a look at actions like this at the moment. Who stood the most to gain from this "incident"? Tommy or Crystal? :waitasec:

It will be interesting to see if the "message" left in the mailbox worked or not. I guess we'll find out if Hank Jr. presses charges or not.

Two legged or four legged? :)

So, you are totally discarding the statement from the eye witness who is a neighbor? Why would this person make a false statement to the police? Oh, maybe the neighbor is helping Crystal? Just to make Ron look worse that he already does?

Let's take a look at the actions of the man questioned by the police, instead. Seems he is more than anxious to get a message across to people with his actions.

One of the articles says RC and another person were interviewed about the incident. I wonder why they are not naming the other person only RC. Strange imo.
What time did this "incident" occur? Was it in broad daylight?

  • #332
Do you think this recent incident might need a thread of it's own? Just thinking about anyone who might come to WS and be looking for info on the dead rat incident and unable to weed through other posts in this thread to find it.

  • #333
You know Indiana...in a way....this could all be about HaLeigh. The intimidation to keep Misty home...about keeping her quiet in the case...the incident with Bubba...controlling access to the person who has information about the case...the rat...retribution for Bubba trying to interfere with the person who has info about the case. There is a reason that Ronald Cummings is so desperate to holdon to a young girl who went off on a three day infidelity and drug binge. It sho' wudn't luv I saw in that thare weddin'.

True, but still Poor HaLeigh and her family

I'm certainly not a fan of Ron C, and wouldn't put too much of anything past him, but I would think even he would not involve his son at the tender age of four and at that time of night in a incident such as this.. Lord I would hope not anyway.
I suspect Jr was with GGMS..
All I have to say is this if Ron C was indeed the person responsible for putting a headless dead rat into a mail box he is alot sicker than I originally thought..

Just my opinion on the subject.

Perhaps Mr. Croslin, Jr. is seriously considering whether he might wind up headless, dead and stuffed into a mail recepticle...likely the intent of the criminal who did this....or perhaps, just perhaps he is searching his soul to see if he is willing to risk disappearing from the face of the earth if he is willing to prosecute this criminal. All of which appears to be the intent of this sick crime.

No it was around midnight when apparentley someone thought they would not get caught ..:) And next it will be said it was to dark to really see anyone, the neighbor could be surley mistaken. :)

Okay I lied I am just asking for my own personal needs. I have to go and cook dinner for my kiddies getting of the school bus and I just know I am going to come back to 15 more pages on this thread.

You made me stop and think about what you said. You may be right, maybe during one of Ron and Misty's fights, Misty threatened to tell! And then she threatened to leave..........that could put Ron into a Save Your A** mode. Ron may be keeping Misty by his side night and day right now. Maybe Misty told Ron that she had told her brother what happened just in case something happened to her and Ron is afraid of what Hank Jr. knows.

If this person is a neighbor of TC, then she is also a former neighbor of Ron's is she not? Therefore, she should know with great accuracy, both what he looks like, and what his truck looks like.

Thanks I'll remember to be on the look out for that excuse.
