It doesn't give him the right to assault someone "under the law".

ETA: I don't think any of these folks are angels...but the law is the law. If he had been struck, he should have gone into the house and called the police. Then there would have been a different story to debate. But in that case, he would have been "right".

Has he been convicted of an assault? I must have missed that.

Are you not allowed to defend yourself and your property by force if necessary in Fla??

I've asked before, was Tommy still on the property when this happened? If anyone should have called the Police, it was Tommy, if he truly believed his sister was in danger. You can believe whichever story you like, as can I.

Bunny...I think the police report is where opinions are coming from so it might be worth a close read and it should answer any questions you have. :)

I've read it....doesn't matter how many times I read it, it does not say Tommy was injured. Can you point to me where it says that?....maybe I'm missing where they list his injuires.

There are NO injuries on the report but that does not negate the fact that Annette Sykes verified in this report that her grandson committed battery.

I am done with this now.

I can't point to you where it says that bunny, but I can provide you with a link to a 911 call where Tommy states he was not injured when directly asked. Let me know if you need help find the link :)

His mother is not a Judge, and she never used the word battery. Are you saying the charge has already been proven and won't be going to Court?

In any event, I agree with the old saying, innocent unless/until proven guilty. And I am also done with this now.

Thank you!

I saw where he said he wasn't injured. I think others may have missed it though.

"It should be noted that Ronald Cummings is usually in possession of some sort of hand gun and it was mentioned that he may have been in possession of it at the current time."

As a gun owner does Ron have to keep his weapons locked up especially since he has children living with him? I wish the officer would have responded to his note and followed-up by asking Ron to hand over the gun if he found him to be in violation of any gun laws. Would Ron require a permit to own a gun? Frankly I'm surprised none of Ron's children have had a mishap with a gun if it is carelessly kept in the home and on the property.

Lord what a mess!

Lisa C said that she wanted to "check on" her daughter. That's understandable after the phone call. Sounds like Misty's husband came charging out of the house determined that no one was going to see Misty (wonder why? why not just say "Hey, ya'll. It's kind of late and Granny's asleep but if you want to come in you can")

I'm glad that GGM told the truth even though it goes against her grandson.
What phone call? You mean the one where Misty told them specifically NOT to come over to their house? They were not only uninvited "guests", but at that point...they were trespassing, imo. I don't blame anyone at GGS' house for not welcoming them in with open arms!

Ronald should have stood at the door with a shotgun and told them to get the hell off the property, imo. He would have been within his legal right to shoot Tommy if he approached him in an aggressive manner and Ronald felt threatened for his life or his property, imo.

I guess his "injuries" miraculously appeared after the officer wrote that report or something, huh?

I didn't see any marks on either Ronald or Tommy. I only saw that neck brace he was wearing while moving his head around quite easily, imo.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The call where Misty was screaming and crying and said she wanted to leave. That's what instigated the incident, it seems to me. That is what raised concerns about her well being and made her mother want to check on her.

So his in-laws came over. He may have thought they came over uninvited (don't they always LOL) but you don't get to meet them with a shotgun or with fists. You just don't answer the door. (Shhh maybe they'll go away works for me) If you really feel they are being threatening, you call the police.

How simple, civilized & well said!

We are discussing Ron and his troubles. He has now got another attorney. He apparently did not want a public defender. Criminal attorneys are expensive so I guess it will be worth it to have one. Misty now has two attorneys, if she is going to use Ron's for the Ratgate. Is she an accomplice or did she not have any idea the Rat was in the car....Yikes! OR third option, does she not get to testify against her husband?

So RC drives to St. Augustine for his attorney and then he probably drives Misty to her attorney in Palatka.

Has it ever crossed anyone's mind that his is all BS? I get the impression these two love to play 'spin the attorney' because they seem to always need one for some reason or other.

With this in mind, has anyone thought these two could be guilty of causing Haleigh to disappear....or is all of this just plain "bad luck"?

Misty claims she never called them screaming and crying so someone is lying...the phone records can back up how many times she talked to them and who made the calls, imo. If they were concerned with her welfare in any way...why didn't THEY call 911 and have LE go check on her?

People don't show up at someone's house at that time of night after permission has been denied and aggressively go after a person without expecting a reaction, imo. This was not some casual social visit, imo. They went to GGS' home to start trouble and they succeeded, imo.

However, it will all come out in court as to what really happened prior to their arrival and if this was a set up (which I believe it was). I don't think Ronald deserved to be arrested, imo. Tommy is the one who deserved it along with everyone in the van. They should not have been on the property to begin with and instigating a fight by trying to take Misty against her will, imo.
