Maybe someone should email David and ask him. He is a WS member, but I don't know how often he comes here anymore.

His articles appear to contradict everything else we have garnered in this case from every other source. He is the only reporter stating it which gives me valid reason to question the accuracy.

TJ Hart has been saying this from the very beginning. Nothing has changed.

I was just browsing the internet, and looked ad David L site. The following link states Ronald left at 10:00 for work for a 10-3:00am shift.

When police arrived at the mobile home in the Hermit's Cove area of Satsuma, they were greeted by a frantic Ronald Cummings. When deputies were finally able to calm him down, he explained that he had last seen his daughter at about 10:00 p.m. that night before he left for work. When he returned home, at about 3:45 a.m., his girlfriend had told him that his daughter was missing.

Okay, I thought the 911 call came at 3:27 and Ron is in the background yelling..... So now we here he left at 10:00 which is not an 10 hour or 8 hours shift but a 5 1/2 shift. And what about the 8;30 phone fight?

He also states that Crystal traveled from GA to FL to assist in the search....

very curious.

He would of had roughly 10 minutes between picking her up from bus stop and then heading to work. Haleigh was seen playing in the front yard by neighbors (discounting all family sightings of her) So RC hurt Haleigh, she went on to play in the front yard hours later and then died sometime later from the injuries she sustained from RC?

It takes about a second to knock the carp out of someone and they hit their head. Brain bleed...closed head injury death at a later time.

This confused me too Bern, but I think RC worked 4pm to 3am, with what must have been a break at around 9 or so where he came home? didn't he say he left at 10 for a 10:30 shift? Must have been a split shift if this info is correct. If there was an 8:30 phone fight, did he come home and did the fight continue in person? If Haleigh was seen by RC at 10pm when he left, then possibly MC did something to Haleigh out of spite after Ron left for his final shift at work.

I may be alone but I am of the mind that RC had nothing to do with Haleigh's disappearance. His grief seems genuine and I am wondering if he married MC simply to be close enough to her to get the bottom of things. I also believed in Santa Claus until I was 9 or 10, so call me gullable....

I wouldn't call you gullible, but hopeful in wanting this father to be innocent of harming his child. I absolutely feel the same way and pray that I am right. JMO

IIRC Misty said Haleigh got home at 4pm. Ron picked her up from the bus stop and she got home at 4pm. So Ron had to have been at least 1/2 late if Misty is correct.

The split shift is interesting as I hadn't considered that before. 4 pm to 3am is a 11 hour shift. I wonder if PDM did 10 hours with 1 hour dinner; four days week so as not to allow overtime? If he had a 10 hour shift paid, labor laws require 1/2 break for every 4 hours. The breaks are unpaid of course. So his dinner hour would be around 8pm til 9pm and another break at 1am if this is how they do it there.

I too would like to think he had nothing to do with her disappearance, directly or indirectly.

Good point, a blow to the head can hide symptoms for minutes, hours and even days up to two weeks. These are called epidural hematomas and subdural hematomas...neither have great survival rates. Epidural usually cause quicker symptoms to arise, subdural usually takes a little while longer. In a child the force needed to cause these injuries is often less than what would be needed in an adult. Just an FYI.

On NG it was said the fight between Misty and RC on the phone at 8:30 while RC was at work was about Misty babysitting kids, wonder if those kids were Tommys children and RC said no and it ticked off both Misty and Tommy?

My issue is, it is admitted that RC and MC had a big fight at 8:30pm and MC turned off her cell phone until 3:10am.

Given that MC had been out on a 3-day drug binge and sex and this was her first day back home with the kids, tell me which Father who is frantically calling his girl and cannot get through, knowing what he knows is going to work his shift and stop by the store before going home? WTH!!!!!

If I was RC I'd be skipping out of work both to check that the kids were alright, family crisis, confront MC and, see if I catch MC up to her tricks.

I do NOT believe given the fight and that MC turned off her cell that RC carried on as normal. Hinky, hinky, hinky.

You can't just leave work - he hadnt been on the job long at all was still in probationary period. I am sure looking back he wished he would of left work, however most people don't think in terms of we had a fight about her babysitting someone kids and now won't answer the phone I better rush home because she may hurt the children?

I also think it makes a big difference about what the fight was over that prompted the weekend when she left. Hopefully that will become public soon and fill in some gaps for some people. Going out and getting wasted and sleeping with another man doesn't equal harming children IMO

I just read this somwhere- but could Ronald have bought beer after 3 in Florida?

Refresh my memory here please; how long was Ron's lunch break?

  • #1,615
My understanding is there is a 30 minute lunch break among other shorter breaks thru the shift. It is also my understanding is they can't leave the premises during breaks and he was seen during his dinner break in the cafeteria by other employees. (I only answered this because you asked Patty G - I have no links for this info - thought I would state this right now in order to avoid a bombardment of post requesting a link for this info)

With utmost respect, I think "we had a fight about her babysitting someone kids and now won't answer the phone I better rush home because she may hurt the children" trivializes recent events and I am not suggesting that was his train of thought. Place this in the context of recent events.

To me RC is dominating and aggressive and I'd be freaking out given trust issues and a lack of communications with home. I can easily see RC slipping home to check on what's going on and, if he got caught he'd simply cite family crisis had to run.

He never got caught.

I doubt that this was the first time that Misty had ever turned off her cell after a fight with her boyfriend. That's a typical 17 YO response. It's better than hanging up - it irritates the heck out of the boyfriend! He probably tried to call her back several times and then gave up, knowing that she turned off her phone.
Why would Ron have ever imagined that A) Misty would have taken it out on the children or B) Misty would have done something rash which would lead to something happening with the children? I'm sure he saw it as an "adult" arguement that had no bearing on Haleigh or Jr. If Misty had a past history of abusing these children, then I would agree with you, but we have never heard that this was the case.

Even if I absolutely couldn't leave work, if I had been trying all night to reach her under those circumstances, I for sure wouldn't have taken the time to stop for alcohol, peanuts, and smokes on my way home. :( I most likely would have called family to go check on my kids.

(Of course, I never would have entrusted my kids with a person like Misty to begin with, so...)

I am looking for something specific to Putnam County as Florida has a standard law unless the county chooses to change the hours - such as Miami Dade you can buy it 24/7. Also the percentage of alcohol content makes a difference, what you are getting in gas station is not the same as what you buy at a liquor store. I will put link in if I can find something specific to Putnam County.

I've vacationed on Anastasia Island for over 20 years...you can buy beer or wine at Publix, Walgreens etc on Sunday...MOO
