Where's the city dump located? Did LE really check ... all of them? What about the tree service business. Are there places around there? Wasn't it on Edgewood at one time (near Hoot Owl?). My brain keeps getting stuck in San Mateo..
I've always thought the issue with the van being used that night was hinky. Why wouldn't they have questioned Joe more? The way Timmy and Chelsea reacted made NO sense to me.
It sounds to me like Tommy is trying to convince Timmy that LE has nothing on him (Timmy) so he can come back to Florida. But Timmy is not buying it because he is seeing everybody else connected to the Haleigh case getting locked up, those that are "in the know". So he fears that he will be arrested too. WHy? Is it because he fits in that category too? IMO, that's what Timmy meant by "bad timing". And Timmy feels it's "bad timing" because not only are the others being locked up, he himself have not been cleared as a suspect. He admits that Chelsea has but he has not. So my gut tells me that Chelsea is definitely trying to protect her husband, the father of her children. Tommy tells Timmy "Oh well...you didn't do nothing wrong", it sounds like Tommy is saying that, regardless of LE still considering Timmy suspect, that his part in all this mess is so small that he shouldn't get into trouble for it. But Timmy is still worried. I think Tommy slips up when he talks about LE needing proof, he then reassures Timmy that there will never be any proof. I take that to mean that all evidence connected to what happened to Haleigh has been destroyed completely. And as we stand 18 months later, still with no answers as to what happened to Haleigh, I think Tommy was absolutely right about there not being proof. IMO, Tommy is implying to Timmy that although he played a small part in this, there will never be any proof that anything ever happened, so therefore, Timmy's small part in it will not come to the light. If you think about it, we have Tommy admitting that there will never be any proof, probably because he helped get rid of it. And then we hear other players connected to this case talking about needing PROOF. Annette, Teresa, and Ron have talked about needing proof that something bad as happened to Haleigh. IMO, they come off kinda cocky because they too know that the evidence has been destroyed, so there is no proof. NO Proof NO case. So they continue to pitch the "Haleigh is still alive" BS. Everyone seem too confident, KWIM?
TOMMY CROSLIN: Oh well, you didn`t do nothing wrong, they can`t nothing to you. They can`t. They got to have proof, dude, and you didn`t do nothing anyway because they ain`t never going to be any proof.

I don't think that the damaged van was ignored. LE whether it was FDLE, local LE or FBI...some crime lab had the dog gone van for almost a month before returning to family. Joe was 'supposedly' scheduled to leave within the time frame that he did, previous to HaLeigh's disappearance.... Timmy and Chelsea left and at the time it made me wonder...I agree with you on that one. I feel sure that when Timmy, Chelsea and Joe left their home that morning to get into the van and noticed the damage there would have been hell to pay if Joe had indeed took the van without permission and damaged it like that. I just can't see the damage being ignored at that time.

I don't know the sequence but Chelsea picked up Lisa (gainsville?) went to police station where ron and misty had to hand over their clothing from the night before. At some point, she must have got JO and what happened after that is anyone's guess. It has to be assumed that JO wanted to leave at this time though. I don't know where the pre-planning comes in for JO to back.
The car wasn't taken in immediately...to the best of my kge. I am betting it was brought to the attention of LE after Lindsy received the car back (whenever that was).
I heard that too...but we do not have any reason to think she was planning to leave that day. I wonder if it is all speculation? What if he weren't planning on leaving and then when this occurred he wanted to get out of Dodge. I wish we knew more about JA.
My recollection is that the van wasn't taken right away. It was processes by FDLE. I don't know where we are getting information that JO was scheduled to leave Feb 10. I can understand timmy and chelsea leaving town...I can. I don't know whether that precludes them from any involvement though.
That van should have been the very first thing LE confiscated...I don't think it was. It sounds like chelsea was very vague on her feelings about JO possibly being involved. In reflection, she says that JO was dressed in his pants and not his boxers when they woke up after the call...unlike him. She even tells us the car was parked in a different way. She drives this car with timmy, jo and kids (I assume) to Satsuma but JO doesn't want to go to Green Lane and insists being dropped off at a gas station/convenience store..they oblige.

Take this for what it's worth...but street word has it that J.O. had an acquaintance in Tennessee who was heading down to Daytona to see family/friends...J. O. supposedly hitched a ride with this person, who detoured just a bit to drop him off in Satsuma so he could visit with family here...she was to pick him up on her way out and back to Tennessee. From what I've gathered, their departure from here was delayed by at least half a day, as LE did talk to J.O. (we also know that he was with Misty putting up posters, which was on the late afternoon of the 10th)... Also, don't know when exactly but it was shortly AFTER J. O. left and was already in Tennessee that a couple of detectives went up to his place to interview him... Again, we wondered at the timing of their interview, here locally...JO came to Florida with a friend/girlfriend. (She had been referred to as his gf at the time; not sure if she was, or was just a friend.) She drove. When it was first said that his returning home was pre-planned for a specific day it sounded to me as if the gf was on vacation, not JO, like he had just come along for the ride as long as she was going that way.
If he was in fact riding along with someone who was on a scheduled vacation it would make sense that their return home date would have been planned in advance. JMO.

Just guessing here, as I didn't know that J.O. didn't want to go down to Tyler/Green Lane while LE was down there the 10th.. But clearly I can understand anyone's reluctance to go down there...My own dad and his wife lived there in River Villa's and I wouldn't even go down to visit them in the days that followed...it was a nightmare of a mess! You had so many individuals down this rural area of Satsuma... no locals wanted to be in the middle of it...I can just imagine that if someone like J.O. w/a past...didn't feel comfortable being around LE... On this, it is just my opinion.
Concerning San Mateo...it appears that they all have ties in this area. misty, tommy, lisa, frank and the children all lived on Sunglow. misty had her friend Nay living nearby. I think Edgewood is in that area where the aunt lived/or had tree business. Ron passed by on his way to work daily. ron used to live there with Crystal. The kids attended attended school there and the church is there. Nay's Lincoln car was stuck there and I thnk Amber may have lived there also.
Ron/croslins are more connected with San Mateo than Satsuma imo. This may be the area where Haleigh is. If JO did this alone, then thinking would be Haleigh was disposed on his return back to Chelsea's. If any of the others did it, HaLeigh may be in the San Mateo area, if she is not near the trailer.

This is so hard to describe..there is like no 'city proper' here in this area...not really. As far as drawing lines of one area to the next...and what the locals call certain areas. Let's see, if I can help any...
Sunglow area, is technically San Mateo, but locally we refer to it as Horselanding area....referring to San Mateo as being that where Browning Pearce School and the Kangaroo on the hill...
It's kinda like where does one start and the other end kind of thing...
If anything, Ron is more connected to Satsuma, Welaka, Pomona Park, Lake Como, Crescent City sort of deal...those are where the 'family roots' are more significant.
The Croslin family...are more nomadic in nature, never staying in one place too long for one reason or another. The area that HaLeigh lived in when she disappeared, has been called by locals as Hermits Cove/Buffalo Bluff area and not really Satsuma. Satsuma 'sign' is actually just before MeMa's, but everything south of Dunns Creek Bridge is considered to be Satsuma, yet we all have Pomona Park 649 prefix for our landline phones... There is a large community of sorts, called Hoot Owl Ridge... it's in Satsuma, but we locals call it, Hoot Owl. Geeez, the more I'm trying, I know it's convoluted!
I just can't for the life of me, see where San Mateo holds anything more significant than say, Welaka, Pomona Park, Hoot Owl, Hermits Cove and Satsuma... As for Ron knowing the Croslins... I don't think that happened until Misty actually came to the area and stayed with her brother Tommy and Lindsy, cuz she babysat for them, as Lindsy was goin to school and Tommy was working with her dad at Seminole....that's how Ron got to 'know' Misty....that is my understanding, anyhow. Heckfire, I could be completely wrong and since I didn't even know these people existed before HaLeigh went missing...what do I know! *sigh*
