I find it horrible that posts are made that make light of the situation w/ Jr. It's awful and sad. Not a joking matter at all. IMO.

This is just an opinion, but Jr. should definitely go to his mom. If everyone read how Ron obtained custody and the extenuating factors involved I think to achieve justice, Jr. would go to his mom and rightly so. If a judge who is honest and fair reviews this case he will understand the big picture and restore Jr. to his mother. I pray this happens for the life of that precious child, cause if hes left where he is, castastrophe will certainly occur.

I don't think anything disrespectful was meant by the little humor injected by anyone. Sometimes we need to take a deep breath and then proceed.

JMO I can't imagine that will happen PorcineGranny.

Oh, I imagine that is exactly what is going to happen! If Ron never would have stolen her children from her, Haleigh would probably be with us today-

How long does DCF have to rule, its getting near the time where a ruling should be made-

I am amazed at D.E's for thinking he is harmless and that most men behave like he did on the 911 or thereafter. We got a glimpse into his character....just a little...and that was enough. RC is a wimp, a wimp who needs to have a gun to prove he is a man. He uses the gun to intimidate people ....imo.

How does anyone know that the rat was not a pet or purchased at a store? How many people have dead rats just lying around? How many people can just catch a rat and then chop it's head off? Sorry but the thought that this was humorous totally passed me by. Putting the guts of a pumpkin is a far cry from intimidating a witness with a headless rat...DE.

Putting a dead rat in the mailbox is serious when the person who resides at the address is a witness in your upcoming case. RC has a serious problem..IMO. I have seen many like him behind bars, where they belong. He will NEVER be w/o a gun, I can pretty much say this safely. He uses guns to scare people and is one very unstable male....IMO.

.....simply astonishing that some do not see him and his behavior as trouble! Harmless would not be an adjective I would use to describe Ron Cummings. Combining wimphood with instability and loaded guns creates a dangerous situation.

We see him "in check" at the moment because he is a "bubble" provided by his mommy and Granny and several attorneys. If RC were left on his own, we would be witnessing many problems with the law...IMO.

Another Blue Ribbon post Whisperer. You are right on about the meaning behind placing a dead, headless rat in a mailbox - it screams out as a very serious threat. It wasn't meant as a joke, or a prank. IMO
I can only judge Ron from the 911 call on. He scares me and I believe he is a very vindictive person - cross him and you're in deep trouble.
And, I'd also like to point out that slamming Crystal for doing coke while she was pregnant is just as bad as Ron being in posession of various illegal drugs and taking those drugs himself. He may not be the one carrying the baby but the drugs can possibly harm his genes and the ones he passes on to the children he creates. She was wrong and so is he if he's going to reproduce.
When you enter into the illegal drug culture, you place your entire family in jeopardy. Drug dealers do not rank up there as people of trust or outstanding, lawful citizens. Dealing drugs and taking drugs is a dangerous game. JMO

A few comments:

There are as many legitimate ways of callers reacting on 911 calls as there are callers. People in shock act differently and there is no one "correct" way. There is no protocol for this.

Many, in fact I dare to say the majority of men, in my adoptive state are passionate about their guns. I'm not a gun person myself, but I see many men (and an occasional woman) see them as a "status" thing. Displaying and even flaunting guns is a way of showing off, particularly common in immature males. This is a way of bragging or shoring up one's self image. Very few of these men would ever seriously consider actually shooting somebody, thankfully!

I'm not convinced the rat was Ron's idea or doing. I've come to feel it was more likely Misty's. My reasoning is:

1) Misty has a temper, per Donna B and Tim M
2) Tommy said Misty was not at the MH at 10 & Misty says she was
3) Misty had a definite falling out with Tommy & this divided her family
4) Misty has shown cases of "getting back", e.g. facebook remarks to Amber
5) Misty took out an RO against Tommy

Because of #2 in particular, I think Misty feels that Tommy "ratted" her out. She could have easily found a dead rat and cooked up this idea to send a message. JMO, but it sounds like a Misty thing to me.

Except Ron admitted to Tim Miller he orchestrated the rat thing just to see how well Misty would lie to the cops, and the rat incident happened before Tommy went to jail-

How did Ron know the perp was not 100 feet from him walking away with Haleigh at the time he was calling 911?
I would venture that he did not have any way to know if the abducation was 10 minutes prior or 5 hours prior, soon after Misty said she went to bed. IMO, he probably didn't even think about when it actually occurred. He was probably in shock and his attention focused on trying to get help, via the 911 call. It makes sense to me that he would have told Misty to call, since she was the person who was there when it happened (ostensibly), but he probably couldn't help himself from butting in and trying to talk to the 911 Op also. JMO.

It would not surprise me that Ron would say this to TM to see his reaction.

Yes, Ratgate happened before Tommy went to jail (and I assume you mean told LE that he had gone to the MH). But, we cannot assume that Tommy had not told Misty before he told LE. I strongly suspect he did, because I think this was a big factor in the falling out between the two, if not the major factor.

The question, I believe, was not how old Ron was but how old Crystal was. Which had been sidestepped, so I simply responded to the question.

I just dont see Ron really caring about Tim Millers reaction- He told Tim why it happened, and that was to see how Misty would lie to cops- And the falling out between the two came when Ron beat up Tommy, and Tommy called the cops, prob blew Rons mind someone wasn't afraid of him!

But, the putting the barrel of a gun in his mouth must have been pretty important to Ron, because now hes going to lose his kid over it, hope it was worth it to Ronald!!

NP, I do think that Ron may have told TM something to get his reaction - JMO.

Misty has said that there was already dislike between Ron & Tommy. It is possible that Ron saw it as a threat when Tommy came over late in the evening after Misty told him not to. However, my original post had to do more with the fallling out between Misty and Tommy, not Ron & Tommy. I believe there was more to it than this fight. JMO

I hope Ron doesn't lose custody of Jr because of a stupid antic (and I agree it was quite stupid on Ron's part!) This little boy clearly adores his Dad and has lived with him as long as he can remember. It would be additional trauma for the little guy to be ripped away from his Dad and who knows where he might end up.

There were drugs in Crystal's home before Ron entered the picture, and, jmo, there still are.

One of the really interesting, and weird, aspects of this case is how many people have arrest records, and many of them for illegal hunting. I saw a lot of that last week when I went back and read early posts that included various arrest records for all sides. That's a testimony to the rural character of the area. I grew up in the country and was out there today; we saw a game warden out checking for illegal hunters. It's a place where everyone has guns. And sorry to say, many people take drugs, sell drugs, make crystal meth, etc. It's an absolute epidemic in this country. We have no idea when Crystal started using drugs, but many kids start at 11 or 12.

I think it is highly unlikely that DCF will take a child out of a home over a rumor in the media. They will investigate because it will look bad in the media if they don't. Removing Junior because Haleigh was abducted would have been like removing the Smart children because their sister was abducted. Right or wrong, someone in family court looked at both Crystal and Ron and thought that the kids were better off with Ron. It is unfair, with 20/20 hindsight, to say that had the kids been given to Crystal, Haleigh wouldn't be missing. The only likely scenarios where that may be true is if Misty killed Haleigh or did something negligent that resulted in her death or Crystal's family abducted her. We still don't know who removed her from the house or why.

All that said, Ron will now be answering questions about childcare and other issues. If DCF leaves Junior with him, after the family court hearing, after the allegations of abuse, and after this Tim Miller business, then maybe we can put this topic to rest. I don't see that the custody issue is any of our business, really.

Yeah, but why does Ron need to say something to get a reaction out of Tim, I mean seriously, what does he gain by doing that? Ronald Jr adores his Dad and whats sad is that Jr prob has seen Ron stick guns in his mouth all his life, that may be normal to that little boy, I mean do you even understand the repercussions that has on a young child? I mean even if his daddy is doing that kinda stuff for reactions out of people, thats really scary-

(bold mine) That said, then presumably you don't consider rage, or negligence, or endangerment on Ron's part, an overdose or retaliation scenario involving Ron in any way, as 'likely.' Some do. And these risk factors in Haleigh and Junior's lives are every bit the concern and business of anyone sleuthing the unsolved case of any missing child. JMO
