Rosie will not return to "The View"

This is what Rosie said: “Who are the terrorists?” “I’m saying if you were in Iraq, and the other country, the United States, the richest in the world, invaded your country and killed 655,000 of your citizens, what would you call us?” In both rhetorical questions, she never once called the troops terrorists.
She was referring to the policy of the current administration.

She might not have said the word troops, but neither did she say the current administration. She said "Us" What does that tell you?
She only tried to change this after the outcry and then took her frustration out on Elizabeth. This wasn't the first time she had attacked Elizabeth either, and was shocked when Elizabeth stood up to her.....Not at all what she has become used to. Because Rosie is now wealthy she probably has sycophants around her who won't tell her the truth about her behaviour.....She has become a bully and unprofessional. Money is power!!! She wouldn't behave like this if she were poor. Nor would she take the crap she dishes out. Rosie does have a caring side but I think she is also sick....Maybe she needs to change her Psychiatrist. She keeps saying Peace out......I think its time she learned they are not just words. She needs to apologise to Elizabeth. JMHO

Rosie takes a dump in the middle of the room and expects Elisabeth to say it doesn't stink.

There are plenty of us who don't like Rosie's constant trashing of the United States and calling our soldiers terrorists. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with whether we support Bush or not.
Exactly...............

I think where Rosie needs to be is on a show like her old one, or something that's just entertainment with guests she won't clash with. She was so nice on her original show except for the Tom Selleck thing. I'm not an NRA fan (we do have guns) but Tom was supposed to be on to talk about a movie he'd done and Rosie more or less ambushed him. So I think with chit chat and talking to people she's not going to have issues with she'd be fine. She's just not a person who can disagree with someone without it getting confrontational and loud and when you yell and interrupt people, even if you're "right" you look bad. In order to sway folks, debate should be calm and well thought out with respect for the opposing side - THEN people LISTEN.

Besides, though I rarely watch the View, with the exception of Barbara, I don't really care to hear their views on hard core issues anyway - they're ENTERTAINERS and CELEBRITIES and if I want news I'll listen to people with a news background or experts in whatever issue is being discussed.

The View's first Hot Topic segments I have always loved...especially after Rosie came..She said the things that everyone was afraid to say that had views different from the current administration. I looked forward to seeing the controversy every day.. I tivoed it and really looked forward to it...Sometimes I didnt even watch the rest after hot topics...The View is just that ..The View.,...people who critizied were dumb...It was a sounding board for all of us woman who wanted to speak our minds..Not just watch a show about how to shop! Elizabeth..well she is a young woman who believes her convictions are right...Rosie believes hers are...I cant understand why they would critisize Rosie and not Elizabeth,...Every is entitled to their"VIEW"
I will miss Rose..and I dont think the show will last..sad...But I cant wait to see what Rosie will come up with next..Mty loyalty is with her..always

Ok this made me laugh :bang::crazy: If you are going to call people dumb who criticized rosie o'donnell at least have enough sense to know how to spell it correctly. Now who's dumb ???:slap:

It is not a show for all women, I would not want to be compared to them.

I think it is very sad that I use to like Rosie but not at all anymore.
I am sure she was "happy-go-lucky" on her cruise. She promotes, and loves those cruises. I'm sure she was friendly, and enjoyed every second of the journey. The View is a different story.......
Awhile back ,listening to her slam her "own" country with how "we did it".......WE took the towers down. Listening to her explain the ridiculous, wacky, reasonings. She is so anti Republican that she comes up with some really far fetched ideas. That show was so unamerican that I was sitting there stunned. She insinuated that our OWN America did that! .........totally unbelievable.
Most of the girls sat silent that day.........and I'm sure Elizabeth was in shock.
Then the day comes where Rosie says........" Who are the terrorist?"
"Who went in there and killed people"........
I took that the same way Elizabeth did........it was not a great statement from Rosie.......
She can hate Republicans and GWB all she wants but, some of her statements are way out of line.
She was a great comic, quite funny. But on the View...........
She came in and became a host, like it was a one man show.
Her opinions are all that mattered.
She really should stay away from television. She's not a happy person....she seems angry, mean spirited, unwilling to bend.
Lets hope they find a happy, easy going, person to fill her spot.......
So it will be a pleasure to watch again.

Like Jeana, I am glad she is gone. I'm glad EH finally stood up to her. I am sure that shocked the chit out of Rosie. She's not used to people challenging her opinions.

While I don't agree with the war in Iraq, I don't call the US a terrorist nation. I wish that Bush would pull the troops out and concentrate on finding bin Laden and helping Afghanistan become a better place. It's obvious the Iraqi people don't want the troops there, so I think they should be pulled out. Let Iraq figure out what kind of government they want. I don't think it could be any worse than it was under Hussein. But then again, I am usually wrong.

Rosie's stint on The View has proven two things...

Money does not buy class and trailer trash on television is not confined to Jerry Springer.

If Rosie can make the comment she made, then nobody should have to take up for her. You open your mouth you be ready to back it up! It is not someone else that has to clean up her mess. It is the old open mouth insert whole foot. She did it she pays the price for what she said. My hubby served for over 25 years and he dam sure was not a terrorist in anyway. He defended our country so we can all sit here and type away as we wish. He did as he was ordered to do. I am from Texas and GWB has us in a mess we may never get out of. I did not vote for him and cannot wait until he is gone.

I have felt for a long time Rosie's demeaner has deteriated. What really really got me and cut me to my bone was a couple of years back when she and her lover kelly showed up in the state that was allowing same union civil unions and as she and kelly descended down the court house steps I was sickened by the way she grabbed kelly and pecked her on the cheek with a self serving suppose to be kiss.

I have never forgotten that gesture. It was totally un-caring and as I watched it played over the news for that infamous week I watched it closely to ensure I wasn't reading more into it or being unfair in my thoughts and to analyze if I was truly being fair in my own mind about what I had seen.

My conclusion, Rosie's gesture was nothing more than a "I did it cause I can in your face public, etc...."....

Yeah, and heterosexuals never do stuff like that.

I must say I appreciate your honesty is putting out what really bothers you about Ms. O'Donnell.

But the moment on the courthouse steps was a political moment and the kiss was a political gesture. Nothing wrong with either.

Ha! Exactly.

If you "insinuate" something, be willing to explain yourself or back it up. Don't looke to others to take up your battle for you, especially the people you've bullied and torked off.

Good for you EH!!!! You finally stood up to that bully Rosie and did a great job defending yourself.

Now if only Joy would quit. She's another loudmouth anti-America spewer. Could we please, if we're going to talk politics, have someone representing the Left who is informed and isn't just an emotional soundbite?

Love how you put that..........!!!
Wouldn't it be so grand if they had someone who was into history and current news. Someone with the knowledge and understanding to say what they think........."back it up".........and even agree to disagree at times. Mind you........I am not coming up with a person that fits that image yet........I am thinking of a Jane Pauley type. Jane.......hummmm.
Then you have Joy for humor, Barbara for wisdom, EH for rebuttals.....Not all that bad........who else? ...........??:waitasec:

Jane Pauley sounds good. How about Katie Couric, Connie Chung :waitasec:

I'm just praying that Joan Rivers doesn't have Barbara Walter's email address...

Yes indeed...the agree to disagree is important. That's what makes our country great! You can't start blacklisting people with a different opionion and unfortunately in Hollywood and the entertainment community, those to the Right are very unpopular and probably even lose work because of it.

Liberals have a right to their "views" but they always seem so emotional and what bugs me most of all...INTOLERANT. They seem to be tolerant of everything else, even the wearing of burkas in our own country and women not having to remove them for a driver's license picture ( if you're American you have to remove even a stupid baseball cap for your DMV photo).

Is there a woman who can show tolerance for another political view, be infomed, articulate and intelligent in a debate and look good? Well, the look good part isn't for me, but we all know if you aren't at least somewhat attractive you ain't got a chance :-( I think Jane Pauley is a good start.

I wish they would recruit Star Parker. Yes, another Star, only this one would be quite different.

I started to think about Katie.........but, something stopped me from writing her name.
Hummmmm........going from the lofty spot of the Nightly News. That would be a downward step ,and I doubt she would take it for The View.
I like Connie .........but is she not "bold" enough to speak up with her views. One thing she would not do is have a temper over someone elses opinions.
I so hope they don't pick a comic again.........
Joy has that spot, and she might just feel free to talk now that there is space for others. She might even feel free to laugh..........
Gosh, now I really hope they let us know soon........
