I was just on President Zelensyy’s website and ran across photos from an awards ceremony for artists that he and his wife attended. As I scrolled through them, looking at photos of the audience and artists, I slowed down and focused on the faces of these brave, but ordinary people. Every day they face unknown dangers. I was very moved and my heart went out to them. These aren’t just Ukrainians as a group. They are individual people, just like us, living through an unimaginable time. I hope you all will take a moment to look at their faces and think about them as real people.

That's how I feel every time I look at the Hope for Ukraine site. So many photos of everyday people helping other everyday people in Ukraine.

I wish some people could connect with what is happening to these people who are just like us all, due to Russia's terrible invasion of their country.

Hope for Ukraine

This happened yesterday, Caution it's the brit press.

A senior White House official told the maritime website Captain.com that foul play had not been ruled out. There was speculation the Solong might have been hacked by Russia or other hostile states and turned into a 'spear'.

Hmmm. According to Trump, Russia is our friend and ally.

@alexwickham:

Vladimir Putin has made deliberately maximalist demands ahead of negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, which he knows are likely to be unacceptable to Kyiv and Europe, Western security officials told Bloomberg.— There there is no indication Putin is willing to compromise on any of his goals, and he is ready to continue fighting the war if he does not get what he wants, the people said.

Over 30 nations to join Paris talks on Ukraine security.

Representatives will meet in person and virtually on March 11, coinciding with a meeting between Ukrainian and U.S. officials on the same day in Saudi Arabia.

MAR 11, 2025
The reported trip to Moscow will follow the March 11 discussions between Ukrainian and U.S. officials in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Witkoff will join U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz on the American side.

There is an "expectation" that the two sides will make "substantial progress" during the talks, Witkoff told Fox News in an interview on March 10.

"What's on the table, what's important to discuss are obviously security protocols for the Ukrainians, they care about that," Witkoff said.

Russia should strike Ukraine using the Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile, said Andrey Kartapolov, head of Russia’s State Duma Defense Committee, on March 11.

Kartapolov’s comments follow reports from Russia’s Defense Ministry that its air defenses intercepted a wave of 337 drones across multiple regions, with 74 reportedly shot down on approach to Moscow.

Russia has launched the Oreshnik missile against Ukraine once before, striking Dnipro in November 2024 after Kyiv successfully used U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles to hit a military target on Russian soil.

According to KIIS, 87% of Ukrainians believe that Russia intends to continue its aggression beyond the currently occupied territories. This belief is consistent across all regions, with 80% in the east and south and 89-90% in the west and center agreeing that Moscow will not stop at the current front line.

Furthermore, 66% of respondents said that Russia's ultimate goal is Ukraine's destruction — 28% believe Moscow seeks physical genocide, while 38% say it aims to seize most or all of Ukraine's territory and eliminate its statehood and national identity.

The survey was conducted between Feb. 14 and March 4, with 1,029 respondents aged 18 and older interviewed by telephone across all Ukrainian government-controlled regions.

Multiple hits were recorded at the Moscow Oil Refinery, which is capable of processing 11 million metric tons of oil per year and covers 40-50% of Moscow's gasoline and diesel supplies, according to the statement.

Explosions were also reported at the Stalnoy Kon fuel facility in Oryol Oblast. This facility is a key part of the Druzhba oil pipeline infrastructure and ensures oil supplies to the Ust-Luga port in Leningrad Oblast.

This would mark Ukraine's most extensive drone strike against Moscow and Russia throughout the full-scale war.

Russian President Vladimir Putin remains unwilling to compromise in peace talks, complicating U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts to secure a settlement, Bloomberg reported on March 10, citing undisclosed Western security officials.

Ukrainian officials are reportedly expected to push for the resumption of U.S. military aid and intelligence sharing while proposing a ceasefire in the air and at sea as a potential first step toward a peace agreement.

In August 1961, as the Berlin Wall rose, French President Charles de Gaulle took a firm stance against Soviet aggression. Today, his words echo as European leaders unite against Russian expansion, reaffirming that strength, not retreat, is key to preserving peace.

The Finnish Foreign Ministry says the €16 million in aid will be channeled through UN humanitarian agencies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

“Finland has supported Ukraine’s humanitarian needs since the first day of Russia’s war of aggression and will continue to do so also in the future. The need for humanitarian aid in Ukraine is enormous, and our assistance is important,” said Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio, as quoted in the ministry’s statement.

"Security guarantees are crucial": The head of Ukraine’s Presidential OfficeThe head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, stated at the beginning of the negotiations that the most important thing now is to discuss how to start the peace process.

"Security guarantees are crucial because we want to ensure that such aggression never happens again in the future. Right now, we believe the key issue to discuss is how to initiate this process," Yermak.

JUST IN: The first round of negotiations between the U.S. and Ukraine has concluded in Jeddah

"We'll get there," commented Trump's national security advisor, Michael Waltz.

For now, the Ukrainian and American delegations have taken a break.

So, by simple logic, if Kelly is a traitor for visiting Ukraine, that means that the US now considers Russia and ally.

I'm glad they've dropped the political theater and stopped pretending they're not in bed with Russia and are just being upfront about it. Better we know who we're dealing with.

I would like to say Elon does not speak for the US, but, I no longer know that to be true.

Fighting back, harder better. But Russian now want to use a hyper sonic missile .thank God they will be meeting in Paris without USA can't trust them not to tell Putin what is discussed. I don't trust USA meeting with Ukraini and honestly hope they don't sign anything with them. USA has shown they aren't a ally to Ukraini and side with Russia . Only thing that I can see coming of this is USA taking the minerals and giving the land to Russia. But honestly can anyone see Putin letting trump take the minerals after Russia fought so long to take back Ukraini .

MOSCOW — A third person has died as a result of a Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region, Evgeniya Khrustaleva, the head of the town of Domodedovo, said on Tuesday via her channel in Telegram.

That's exactly why Trump won't walk away and wash his hands of it, like he pretended he would. He's trying to force a deal that will mutually benefit the US and Russia. I have no doubt Russia would somehow have access to minerals if he forced a deal.

Senator Mark Kelly, an ex-Navy combat pilot/astronaut, visited Ukraine touring military hospitals, chatted with Red Cross workers and giving support for the victims of Russian agression, on X.

Musk replied to the Senator, "You are a traitor". 🤯

To which Senator Kelly replied,

“Traitor? Elon, if you don’t understand that defending freedom is a basic tenet of what makes America great and keeps us safe, maybe you should leave it to those of us who do.”

A very tame and dignified answer, IMO.

A Polish offical on X , who dared to say if Starlinks (which the Polish government helps fund for Ukraine) was cut off or service compromised, they would look elsewhere for a provider.

Musk told him, "Be quiet, small man...".

Sec. of State Marco Rubio, who in the not-so-distant past has numerous times called Putin a war criminal and said Putin wanted to set up a puppet government in Ukraine, then responded,

"And say thank you because without Starlink Ukraine would have lost this war long ago and Russians would be on the border with Poland right now".

Sounds like SOS Rubio is Musk's little guard dog, say thank you grrrrrr, don't you know Russia would be knocking at your door if not for Elon!! I guess Russia isn't a big pussycat who just wants peace then and is a terrible agressor to be feared !? Did Rubio miss the Trump memo about that?

I sure don't have high hopes for this meeting today when a Secretary of State tells a Nato ally to be thankful that Russia isn't threatening their sovereignty right now...and an American combat veteran and Space voyager is called a traitor for visiting Ukraine and showing support to victims.
AJMO

Sounds to me like Rubio and Musk have trauma bonding after their Oval Office kerfuffle.

"The meeting with the U.S. team started very constructively; we are working towards a just and lasting peace," said President Volodymyr Zelensky's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak.

Fourth hour into the meeting, Waltz and Rubio were seen walking in the Ritz-Carlton hotel's lobby during a break in the meeting. When asked about the progress of the talks, Waltz responded, "Getting there."

"The most important thing that we have to leave here with is a strong sense that Ukraine is prepared to do difficult things, like the Russians are going to have to do difficult things to end this conflict or at least pause it in some way, shape or form," Rubio told reporters on March 10, according to the New York Times.

A senior White House official told the maritime website Captain.com that foul play had not been ruled out. There was speculation the Solong might have been hacked by Russia or other hostile states and turned into a 'spear'.
"The owners of the Solong say it was not carrying sodium cyanide, as previously reported, but had four empty containers that had once held the toxic chemical"

""I understand there doesn't appear to be any suggestions of foul play at this time," the Downing Street spokesperson says about the collision of the two vessels in the North Sea on Monday."

The DM can be a bit over the top IMO. I don't think it's likely a Portuguese ship was hacked by Russians! It may have been foggy. The DM article mentioned rescue boats were hampered by fog. Hull is a very busy seaport. JMO

"
STORY: :: This expert says 'incompetence' caused a cargo vessel and a tanker carrying jet fuel to collide in the North Sea

:: Dr Simon Boxall, Oceanographer

:: March 10, 2025

:: Southampton, England

:: Marine Traffic

..... Now, there were reports of fog earlier, but modern ships have anti-collision systems. They have radar and so on. The Stena ship could have done very little about it. It couldn't have moved away because it was at anchor. It wouldn't have had time to respond by the time it got its engines warmed up and everything else. But the Solong should have avoided it and it would be down to incompetence on behalf of Solong. There is no reason why, in the 21st century, two ships should collide."

I am very suspicious of these reports from Moscow about civilians and supermarkets being affected by a drone attack. Although this is reported in western newspapers, they are reporting what Moscow has said. MOO

Ukraine has said their drone attack was on a Moscow oil refinery.

IMO Moscow is lying and trying to deflect, and accuse Ukraine of attacks on civilians (which is what Russia has been doing in Ukraine), just at the time the peace talks are going on and to have an excuse to retaliate in a big way JMO

"The Russian defence ministry reported that 337 drones were launched at Russia overnight on Monday, including 91 targeting the Moscow region, killing three people, causing fires and disrupting flights and train services."

"Ukrainian forces successfully attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery and a Druzhba oil pipeline facility in Oryol Oblast overnight on March 11, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported."

"The operation "struck a number of Russian strategic objects, enabling armed aggression against Ukraine," the military said. Ukraine has repeatedly targeted industrial and military facilities in Russia's rear to undermine Moscow's ability to wage its war."

"Multiple hits were recorded at the Moscow Oil Refinery"

Drones are programmed to locations I believe - they are not randomly going to land on supermarkets or civilians. I don't believe Ukraine would be so stupid as to resort to Russian tactics and hit civilian areas. They bombed an oil refinery! It is possible there were casualties from that however IMO.

If any civilians in another area were killed by drones, it's more likely to be from the Russians shooting the drones down before they reached their target IMO. If indeed the Russian reports are true and not just negative propaganda as a reason to escalate their attacks with bigger weapons. JMO
