Russian drones hit Zelenskyy’s hometown in “most massive strike on city since war began

Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 56 out of 117 Russian drones in a coordinated nighttime assault

Trump says Russia may be "dragging their feet" on Ukraine peace deal - Newsmax.

He compared Russia's approach to his own negotiation tactics of staying in discussions without fully committing.

"I think that Russia wants to see an end to it, but it could be they're dragging their feet. I've done it over the years, you know; I don't want to sign a contract, I want to sort of stay in the game, but maybe I don't want to do it, quite … I'm not sure," Trump said.https://euromaidanpress.com/2025/03/26/trump-acknowledges-russia-possibly-delays-peace-deal/?swcfpc=1

In September and October 2022, under the pretense of a two-week rehabilitation program, Russian authorities compelled parents in occupied Kherson to send their children to camps in occupied Crimea. Witnesses reported that thousands of children were housed in facilities such as Mriya (Dream), Druzhba (Friendship), and Promenystyi (Radiant).

Among the attendees were Vitalii, Zhenia, Taya, Diana, and many others. They recounted experiences of mockery and humiliation based on their Ukrainian nationality. Children expressing pro-Ukrainian sentiments were confined to basements or isolation cells. The use of the Ukrainian language was prohibited; instead, they were forced to listen to the Russian national anthem, learn Russian patriotic songs, and perform labor. For at least six months, they were told that their parents had abandoned them and that Ukraine no longer cared for them.

The exact number of children who remain in these camps on the occupied peninsula is currently unknown. #BringUkrainianKidsBack

Russia launched a missile strike on Sumy, injuring 88 civilians, including 17 children, despite ongoing peace talks in Saudi Arabia

The attack occurred during discussions between Russia and the US aimed at de-escalating the war

The number of people injured due to the Russian missile attack on Sumy on 24 March rose to 106, including 23 children, the city council reports

Russia has struck Ukraine's energy sites 8 times since Putin's claimed pause, Zelensky's advisor says.

"We’re not going into all the details, but there have already been eight confirmed hits on energy facilities" since March 18, Dmytro Lytvyn said.

'There is talk of Nord Stream' — Lavrov eyes Russia-US energy cooperation."

It will probably be interesting if the Americans use their influence on Europe and force it not to give up Russian gas," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

US judge temporarily blocks Trump administration from shutting down RFE/RL.

Judge Royce Lamberth ruled that the administration's attempt to 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 the organization was "unsupported by any facts or reasoning."

Ukraine will resist 'with their bare hands' if forced into unjust peace, CIA chief says.

"The Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian military have been underestimated for a period of several years now," CIA Director John Ratcliffe said.

US considering lifting some sanctions to secure Black Sea ceasefire, Trump says.

The United States is "looking at" lifting sanctions on Russia in order to secure a Black Sea ceasefire agreement, U.S. President Donald Trump said on March 25.

Moscow said on March 25 that the ceasefire will take effect only after sanctions on Russia's Rosselkhozbank and other financial organizations involved in supporting international food trade are lifted, and the country has their connection to the SWIFT messaging system restored.

Last night, there were another 117 proofs in our skies of how Russia continues to drag out this war – 117 strike drones, most of them Shaheds. A significant number were shot down by our air defenders.

Dnipro, Sumy, Cherkasy, and other regions came under Russian attack. There was a massive drone strike on Kryvyi Rih – targeting a local enterprise and civilian infrastructure. In Okhtyrka, Sumy region, homes, stores, and civilian infrastructure were damaged. Communities in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions also came under fire.

Everyone who was affected must be given assistance. But there must also be clear pressure and strong action from the world on Russia – more pressure, more sanctions from the United States – to stop Russian strikes.

Launching such large-scale attacks after ceasefire negotiations is a clear signal to the whole world that Moscow is not going to pursue real peace. Since March 11, there has been a U.S. proposal for a total ceasefire, a complete halt to strikes. And literally every night, through its attacks, Russia keeps saying “no” to our partners’ peace proposal.

National Guard of Ukraine Day – a day to express our gratitude to all NGU warriors, every unit, and every combat brigade of the National Guard.

National Guard units and heroic NGU warriors continue to defend Ukraine with resilience, delivering critical results in eliminating the occupiers. We deeply value this. Since 2014, and after February 24, the warriors of the National Guard of Ukraine have proven themselves with distinction in battles for our country.

We remember all Ukrainian warriors – in particular, National Guard warriors, defenders of Mariupol, and Azov fighters, who, unfortunately, remain in Russian captivity. We are working at all levels of diplomacy to free them and bring them home.

Thank you for your dedicated service to our nation! Glory to the National Guard of Ukraine!

Usually an authoritarian takeover happens gradually, not in six weeks. Americans are gobsmacked. What is happening here is unprecedented. While I understand your frustration and feel it too, I think your criticism of Americans for “letting” this happen, “allowing” their leader to act like this, and “doing nothing” to stop him” shows that you do not understand how the American system of government works…or has until now.

Simply put, the Congress (House and Senate) and Courts are co-equal with the Executive branch of government (the president). They act as a restraint on each other. This only works if each one cooperates with this. We are now faced with a president, a vice president and Elon Musk who don’t care about the constitution and laws, a congress who won’t stand up to him (not that it would do any good), and courts who cannot enforce their decisions and are being threatened, as are law firms. We are now living in an authoritarian country and it will get worse.

The American people are holding large demonstrations all over the country. But Trump doesn’t care. The minute one of these demonstrations turns violent he will use it as an excuse to take away constitutional rights (see Reichstag Fire 1933). He has already violated the constitutional right of due process by sending over 200 unlawful immigrants (who have a right to a court hearing) to a notoriously bad prison in El Salvador, against a judge’s order. He is an evil man, surrounded by evil assistants and an evil cabinet IMO.

So, I ask you…What do you suggest we do? That is a sincere question.

I wanted to add for our international friends that Trump is now trying to impeach judges that do not agree with him. What happens if he is able to remove the judges who do not side with him?

eta: maybe it doesn't matter since he is ignoring judges orders anyway.

Five traumatised lions rescued from the Ukrainian warzone have found a new home at a sanctuary in England, following an international rescue effort.

Thank you for this video, TootsieFootsie.

It truly makes my heart glad.

Now lets work to make the Ukranians as safe as these wonderful lions are.

So many of us Americans do come to this thread to listen to international voices.

But if you don't live here you just don't know what it "feels" like.
With that House and Senate, and now the Supreme Court....they can do anything ...

So many of us are hoping for some farfetched disaster. Can you imagine.

Editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg has released the Signal war plans text thread:

I imagine that Jeffrey Goldberg is sick and tired of the lies that everyone is hearing.
"There were no sources, methods, locations, or war plans disclosed" (said by Gabbard)

And the attacks on him by the people involved in the chat thread.
"The secretary of defense responded with a brutal attack on the reporter who did not ask to be on the Signal chain. Yesterday, our former colleague Mike Waltz did the same in the White House and then went on Fox to call Jeff Goldberg a loser."

Thank you @LoveyG for mentioning the threat to impeach judges. Trump is also signing executive orders against law firms that have been involved in cases against him…the orders would effectively put them out of business. There are so many authoritarian actions Trump is taking that it’s hard to list them all.

Ignoring judges’ orders is even a bigger deal than impeaching them. Since judges do not have the power to enforce their orders, the constitution relies on the president to willingly comply and not break the law. I don’t think the Founding Fathers ever reckoned with someone like Trump. Yes, he could be impeached and found guilty and removed from office and prevented from holding office again, but we saw how the Republicans (looking at you, Mitch McConnell) failed to do that in 2020 and 2021.

Apologies to our international friends for these posts about the U.S. but it’s so awful it’s hard to say nothing.

Yes, I hate to keep belaboring what is going on here in the U.S. on a thread about Ukraine, which is a life and death situation. But for those of us who live here it is a life and death situation for the rights afforded us by the Constitution and legal system. I am in no way exaggerating and it is extremely frightening. As I’ve said before…if the government can deport Venezuelan so-called “gang members” and immigrants (who have legal residency), they can do it to anyone. Anything they do to others, they can do to us.

@nhmemorymaker I wonder what disaster would stop this. Even if Trump is gone, there are too many evil people to take his place.

Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff is no fool, nor is he ignorant about Ukraine and Russia. If you listen to the interview with Witkoff yourself, you will see that the media here is spinning a narrative about the negotiations that does not represent the facts.

Witkoff is leading the US ceasefire negotiations with both Russia and Ukraine but he was unable to name the five regions of Ukraine either annexed or partially occupied by Russian forces.

He said: "The largest issue in that conflict are these so-called four regions, Donbas, Crimea, you know the names and there are two others."

The five regions - or oblasts - are Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Crimea. Donbas refers to an industrial region in the east that includes much of Luhansk and Donetsk.

[…]

He said it was "correct" that from the Russian perspective the partially occupied territories were now part of Russia: "The elephant in the room is, there are constitutional issues within Ukraine as to what they can concede to with regard to giving up territory. The Russians are de facto in control of these territories. The question is: will the world acknowledge that those are Russian territories?"

He added: "There's a sensibility in Russia that Ukraine is just a false country, that they just patched together in this sort of mosaic, these regions, and that's what is the root cause, in my opinion, of this war, that Russia regards those five regions as rightfully theirs since World War Two, and that's something nobody wants to talk about."

[…]

He also gave details of how Trump wanted to co-operate with Russia after relations had been normalised. "Who doesn't want to have a world where Russia and the US are doing collaboratively good things together, thinking about how to integrate their energy polices in the Arctic, share sea lines maybe, send LNG gas into Europe together, maybe collaborate on AI together?"
