Does anyone know how the hospitals and clinics in Ukraine are faring?
I’m so disgusted by Putin’s tyrrany! I wish I could volunteer to go there to help with medical care and spiritual support.

These people need help from real people who will come help now. As it is they’re stuck waiting for help from world-wide governmental leaders more concerned with optics and woke agendas than stopping a madman who is determined to dominate the world.

I just about choked when I heard one world leader, who shall remain nameless, say that the financial sanctions would be reevaluated in a month to see if escalation was necessary. Meanwhile, we have young moms in cold basements holding babies in there arms while live-streaming, begging for military backup from other countries. How many babies will freeze, starve or be bombed in a month? MOO

'At Least 500 Dead': Open-Source Analyst Gives Likely Russian Death Toll (rferl.org)
Amid claim and counterclaim about Russia's war in Ukraine, open-source intelligence analyst Ruslan Leviyev says Russia has suffered at least 500 killed so far. Leviyev, founder of Conflict Intelligence Team, said his figure was based on videos posted online by Ukrainian civilians after battles. He was speaking to Current Time on February 27.

EU To Finance Weapons Purchases For Ukraine, Ban Russian Media (rferl.org)
The EU’s plan to fund weapons purchases will use millions of euros to help buy air-defense systems, anti-tank weapons, ammunition, and other military equipment for Ukraine’s armed forces. It would also supply things like fuel, protective gear, helmets, and first-aid kits.

"For the first time ever, the European Union will finance the purchase and delivery of weapons and other equipment to a country that is under attack," European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said of the weapons purchases, calling it a “watershed moment.”

Russian POWs Say They Were Tricked, Threatened During Invasion (rferl.org)
The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has set up a Telegram channel with videos that it says show captured, injured, and dead Russian soldiers. This video shows Russian soldiers being interrogated. The prisoners are being questioned by their Ukrainian captors. It is impossible to independently confirm whether the information they give is accurate. The date and location of the video has not been verified.

'Mama, I Didn't Want To Come': Ukraine Asks Russians To ID Their Killed, Captured Relatives (rferl.org)
As the Russian government remains silent about the number of losses it has incurred in its invasion of Ukraine, Kyiv is appealing directly to families of Russian soldiers to identify their relatives captured or killed in the four-day-old war.

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry issued the appeal on February 27, directing relatives of Russian soldiers to online platforms where they can search through photos and videos of Russian soldiers captured or killed by Ukrainian forces.

The initiative, called Ishchi Svoikh (Look For Your Own), appears aimed in part at undermining morale and support for the war in Russia, where officials and state media have refrained from disclosing details of Russian casualties and military assaults against Ukrainian cities, including the capital, Kyiv.

I could easily understand why the Russian Army is so weak if this footage is anything to go by.
They've been sitting on the Ukranian border for months, morale must be low and a lot of these Russian soldiers must be facing a moral dilemma - Most of them will have relatives and friends in Ukraine or know somebody who does.

I haven't seen much reporting on hospitals but this was published this morning:

Russia-Ukraine latest: Putin orders nuclear deterrence forces on high alert; Zelenskiy says Ukrainian and Russian delegations to meet | World news | The Guardian

WHO: Thousands of lives at risk by falling Ukrainian oxygen supplies
The World Health Organization is worried about supplies of medicinal oxygen to Ukraine, warning the majority of hospitals could run out in 24 hours.

The director general, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and WHO’s regional director for Europe, Dr Hans Kluge, called for a safe passage for supplies, including via a logistics corridor through Poland.

They said: “Trucks are unable to transport oxygen supplies from plants to hospitals across the country, including the capital, Kyiv. The majority of hospitals could exhaust their oxygen reserves within the next 24 hours. Some have already run out. This puts thousands of lives at risk.”

War via TikTok: Russia's new tool for propaganda machine | CP24.com
''The Russian TikTok video has it all: a cat, puppies and a pulsing background beat. It’s cute, watchable and hardly seems the stuff of state propaganda''.

''Armies of trolls and bots stir up anti-Ukrainian sentiment. State-controlled media outlets look to divide Western audiences. Clever TikTok videos serve up Russian nationalism with a side of humor.''

''In the cat video, a husky puppy identified by a digitally inserted U.S. flag swipes at the tail of a tabby identified by a Russian flag. The cat responds with a ferocious jab that sends the hapless dog scurrying. The clip, which has been viewed 775,000 times in two weeks, is the work of an account named Funrussianprezident that boasts 310,000 followers. Almost all of its videos feature pro-Russian content.''

''Analysts at several different research organizations contacted by The Associated Press said they are seeing a sharp increase in online activity by groups affiliated with the Russian state. That’s in keeping with Russia’s strategy of using social media and state-run outlets to galvanize domestic support while seeking to destabilize the Western alliance.''

Across the internet, there’s been a rapid uptick in suspicious accounts spreading anti-Ukrainian content, according to a report from Cyabra, an Israeli tech company that works to detect disinformation.

I did not know that Belarus and Ukraine formerly had nuclear weapons.
Isn't that because they were previously part of the Soviet Union? idk

Just some news about refugees and their pets :
“ Members of the public across various European countries have joined social media to offer help to families feeling Ukraine with pets.”
Heartbreaking scenes as Ukrainians huddle with family pets in shelters

Also Poland ❤️ (bless them) made an exception for evacuation with pets :
“UKRAINE PET UPDATE: Sources report that #Poland has made an exception for Ukrainians forced to evacuate with pets. There's a designated gate at which cats & dogs can cross the border without a passport. There's HELP AT THE BORDER. Don’t leave them behind!

What’s really blowing my mind is about 2 years ago today I was in Costco stocking up. People thought I was crazy. Pandemic?
So now I am seriously considering a trip to Costco today. Nuclear war?
I am almost 60 and have never panic bought, stocked up, hoarded, had a pantry. Finding myself doing it twice in two years is really causing me stress.
I'm right there with you!

What "aggressive statements" has the west made? Just that Ukraine has support. ?

We're not just supporting with words
MOO MOO the nuke alert is a cover for the thermo bombs just moved into place that burn the oxygen out of an entire area.

They aren't nuclear bombs, so I don't think so.

It's worth noting that the US also has thermobaric bombs though.

They are in desperate need of oxygen :

“The oxygen supply situation is nearing a very dangerous point in Ukraine. Trucks are unable to transport oxygen supplies from plants to hospitals across the country, including the capital Kyiv. The majority of hospitals could exhaust their oxygen reserves within the next 24 hours. Some have already run out. This puts thousands of lives at risk.

Further, medical oxygen generator manufacturers in several areas are also facing shortages of zeolite, a crucial, mainly imported chemical product necessary to produce safe medical oxygen. Safe deliveries of zeolite from outside Ukraine to these plants is also needed.

Compounding the risk to patients, critical hospital services are also being jeopardized by electricity and power shortages, and ambulances transporting patients are in danger of getting caught in the crossfire.’

I have to say the courage and integrity of President Zelensky and the people of Ukraine is inspiring. A number of world leaders could learn from him imo.
Prayers and thoughts are with each and every single Ukrainian across the globe, this must be terrifying and distressing for them all ❤
I'm sorry for your losses.
I'm sorry you're facing this.

To Putin, go f*#k yourself.

JMO

Apologies for the swearing but I feel that was the mildest expletive I could have used in the same sentence as Putin, although I do like the 'Putrid' given in place of his name upthread :)

I clicked on a helicopter flying into Poland and it was RAF, so yes… but surely they can’t track all of them? There must be stealth planes up there? I’m not sure.
Great tool thanks!

I've just found a USAF plane flying through Southern Poland too and Spain AF, flying the same path by the looks of it.

Think they've landed at Rzeszow Jasionka Airport
