''The war in Ukraine has highlighted two things to Russia and the outside world: that Russia’s much-vaunted military revolution has been exaggerated and that Ukraine’s resistance to the invasion is total.

New equipment was ordered and training focused on realism as Russia’s armed forces were put on a more professional footing. During a routine press conference on Tuesday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson mentioned the 26 bio-labs and other related facilities in Ukraine, under the absolute control of the US Department of Defense, as well as the US' 336 biological labs in 30 countries, asking "what is the true intention of the US?"

An agreement signed by the US Department of Defense and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in 2005, was aimed to prevent bio-weapons and pathogens from being abused, and Ukraine seems to run those labs.

The agreement said that the US Department of Defense has the right to audit and examine materials, training of personnel and services provided in accordance with the agreement.

The most important part is that the agreement says that the Ministry of Health of Ukraine shall transfer to the US Department of Defense copies of dangerous pathogen strains collected in Ukraine.

The United States and NATO must continue to orient around deterring and pre-bunking Russian false-flag attacks. The objective of earlier pre-bunking may have been to ensure that Western audiences did not believe Russian information operations to justify Russia’s invasion. That objective has been achieved. The United States and its allies should again aggressively leverage their superior intelligence to share information, this time to publicly reject Russian claims that Ukraine has any access to or intention to use chemical or radiological weapons. Such a Russian claim is less likely to gain traction in the current information environment, but aggressive US pre-bunking and deterrence efforts could still prevent Russian attempts to carry out a false-flag attack in the first place.

This sounds just like the tit for tat the precluded the invasion. That Russia is already talking about bios on state run TV makes me think they will release some sort of pathogen into a Ukraine city. Many to choose probably from but it will most likely be in the West, away from Russian border. I pray I'm wrong.

Suspension or cessation of product sales in Russia is fast becoming the norm for large companies, and PlayStation is the latest to join the pack. Following the lead of companies such as Nintendo, Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA and many others, Sony Interactive Entertainment is suspending shipments of PlayStation products in Russia.

The suspension includes the shipment of both hardware and software. That means Sony will no longer ship hardware like the PS5 and its accessories and software like physical game discs to the country for the time being. But it doesn't stop there.

Sony will also stop operating the PlayStation Store in Russia. Exclude consumers from purchasing digital versions of games. Nintendo took the exact same approach and put the eShop in Russia in maintenance mode. Due to the payment processing system that the eShop uses in the region, the processing of rubles is suspended.

I think "civilized dictator" is an oxymoron.

A dictator, by definition, would have to be uncivilized. After all, they are considered dictators because they are autocrats, repressive of the rights of their people. They rule by force, frequently invade other countries, do not abide by anyone else's counsel, impose their will relentlessly, resort to violence, do not allow dissent, use extensive punitive measures, do not have fair trials and do not have free and fair elections.

A dictator is a one-man show of tyranny within and without his country. It is all DICTATED by the one guy. Kim Jong-Un, Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Mussolini, Idi Amin, etc.

Kirill (18) from Moscow has taken a plane to Yerevan. He has not yet been drafted into the Russian army, but feared that he would be deployed in the war in Ukraine in the foreseeable future. He hopes to avoid that in the Armenian capital.

The situation in Russia has also changed dramatically in a short period of time. More and more independent news sources are out of reach and the police are cracking down on expressions of dissatisfaction with the invasion of Ukraine. It is a reason for many Russian mothers to send their sons out of the country. Away from the war, away from a possible call to fight in Ukraine.

The ticket to Yerevan cost many times the price of two weeks ago, but it is more than worth it for people who can afford it. "We sent him away to get rid of that agonizing insecurity," Kirill's mother says. "That gives at least a little more peace in the current difficult situation."

President Putin has repeatedly said that only professional military personnel are deployed in Ukraine and not conscripts. According to him, a general mobilization is not necessary.

"I don't take him at his word," says Nadia. She points out that Putin also previously said that Russia would not invade Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry has now announced that conscripts are still fighting in Ukraine. It did so after a number of soldiers from supply units were captured by the Ukrainian army.

Russian embassy in Dublin could be located on Independent Ukraine Road

Councillors propose changing the name of Orwell Road where embassy is located

Residents of Orwell Road in Dublin, where the Russian embassy is located, are set to be consulted on a proposal to change the name to Independent Ukraine Road.

All 20 councillors at the Dundrum area monthly meeting of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council agreed that the name of the road should be changed.

The motion was proposed by Labour’s Cllr Peter O’Brien who said he was inspired by countries including Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Albania that have changed the names of the street where their Russian embassies are located to associate them with Ukraine.

Cllr O’Brien said the name change was intended as a “gesture of solidarity” with the Ukrainian people.

“If the war ended in the morning, I’d be delighted to drop the proposal,” he said.

The Russian embassy in Rathgar has been subjected to protests since the invasion of Ukraine a fortnight ago. There are barriers outside the embassy after a truck driver reversed into its gates.

At the risk of having tomatoes thrown at me, I am getting a tad peeved with President Zelesky (sp)-- he keeps saying the United States is not doing enough and further that he wants US to generate a no fly zone, knowing full well this could start WWIII- NO, NO, NO- not one general or miltary talking head has suggested this is a good idea: in fact all of them have stated sternly that we cannot do this - The United States is doing everything and more in this crisis- but we do not want to do anything to start WWIII---Putin is unstable, evil and looking for a reason to start WWIII IMO

Geez how can you blame him? He’s desperate to save his country. And we’ve already done things (Swift) that could cross the line for Putin.

His country is being sacrificed for the chance to protect the west. And I don’t blame us either.
