Russia publishes an official list of 'unfriendly' states

A list of foreign states that Russia considers as having committed "unfriendly actions" against "Russia, Russian companies and citizens" was published on the Russian government's website on Monday. The countries, international organizations and territories considered "unfriendly" include:

Australia, Albania, Andorra, United Kingdom including Jersey, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Gibraltar, the member states of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden), Iceland, Canada, Liechtenstein, Micronesia, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Republic of Korea, San Marino, North Macedonia, Singapore, USA, Taiwan, Ukraine, Montenegro, Switzerland, and Japan. Russia lists Taiwan as being part of China.

A complimentary item of legislation from Sunday states that Russian citizens and companies must apply for a special permit to deal with "unfriendly" foreign entities.

While Israel has condemned Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, it was not included on the list. Israel has taken on a mediation role during the conflict, seeing Prime Minister Naftali Bennett flying to Moscow on Saturday to speak with Putin.

Russian military strike Vinnitsya airport from Black Sea.
A total of eight missiles were launched by Russia’s strategic missile carriers in the Black Sea, according to Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the country’s Air Force Command. The missiles have a range of up to 5,500 kilometers. The airport was completely destroyed.

"Close the sky!" or how Russia bombed out my town of Borodyanka | Euromaidan Press
On 1 March and overnight into 2 March, Russian bombers destroyed the entire central part of a small town of Borodyanka north of Kyiv. Russian aviation, artillery, missile forces keep leveling Ukrainian cities to the ground viciously for no reason to this day. Russia has been doing to the Ukrainian cities of Mariupol, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and many others what it had done to Syrian cities before.

This is a story told by a local resident of Borodyanka who calls himself Fayna Borodyanka (“Lovely Borodyanka”) on Twitter. He and his family enjoyed a quiet life there up until the Russian invasion. Anonymous is 'waging war' on Russia: Several broadcasts hacked

The hacker group Anonymous hacked Russian streaming services on Sunday, hitting Wink and Ivi, as well as live TV channels Russia 24, Channel One and Moscow 24 to broadcast footage of the war with Ukraine.

Anonymous also posted photos on Twitter showing that, instead of regular broadcasting, a message appeared stating that "ordinary Russians are against the war" and called for Russians to oppose their government's attack on Ukraine.

Anonymous has been actively targeting Russia in cyberspace since the initial assault on Ukraine began on February 24. In the days since, the group has claimed credit for several cyberattacks including DDOS attacks and the complete shutdown of government sites, which brought Russia's media and government sector to a grinding halt on the internet.

Judo federation removes Putin's titles
"The International Judo Federation announces that Mr. Vladimir Putin and Mr. Arkady Rotenberg have been removed from all positions held in the International Judo Federation," the federation said in a statement.

The federation had already suspended Putin’s honorary presidency of the IJF last week, the organization said. Rotenberg was a member of the IJF executive committee as “development manager.”

World Taekwondo previously removed the honorary black belt from Putin after declaring that the "brutal attacks on innocent lives" did not follow its motto: "Peace is More Precious than Triumph."

The organization also said that it would prohibit the display of the Russian flag and its anthem from being played during events.

Land mines littered a proposed route for Ukrainians to flee, Red Cross official says

A top International Red Cross official told the BBC on Monday that a proposed humanitarian zone in Mariupol, Ukraine, was lined with land mines, the latest sign of the struggle to allow women and children to flee Russia's war on the country.

"That is why it is so important that the two parties have a precise agreement for us then to be able to facilitate it on the ground," Dominik Stillhart, director of operations for the International Committee of the Red Cross, told BBC 4.

Stillhart said some Red Cross staff had tried to take the proposed route out of Mariupol before realizing that it was mined.

''Ukraine’s infrastructure ministry said on Monday that part of the Black Sea port of Olvia, which is under concession to Qatari sea port operator QTerminals, had been hit by a military “strike”.

Nobody was wounded, the ministry said without providing further details.

The document has no provisions for punishment, but violations can bring moral outrage and lead to trade sanctions or other kinds of economic reprisals against the offending government.

US secretary of defense orders 500 additional US troops deploy to Europe

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin ordered additional troops and US military assets to be deployed to different parts of Europe amid the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine to further support the US’s NATO allies, a senior US defense official told reporters on Monday.

The Defense Department will send a total of 500 troops in this new deployment, the official said. The deployment will include sending KC-135 refueling aircraft to Greece, but the official could not say how many aircrafts would be sent or where in the US they will be coming from.

With these additional deployments, the US now has about 100,000 US military personnel either on rotational or permanent orders stationed in Europe right now, the official said.

Governments hit back at Russia on Twitter: 'We can't stay silent on this one'

When Ukraine was attacked on Twitter, the German embassy couldn't just stay quiet.

On Twitter, official Russian government accounts defended the country's actions in invading Ukraine, including one from the embassy in South Africa that read, "We appreciate your support and glad you decided to stand with us today, when Russia, like 80 years ago, is fighting Nazism in Ukraine!"

The tweet thanked South African followers for supposedly sending letters supporting Russia's invasion. Germany's embassy in South Africa clapped back on Twitter, calling out Russia for "slaughtering innocent children, women and men for its own gain."

"It's definitely not 'fighting Nazism'," @GermanEmbassySA tweeted on Saturday. "Shame on anyone who's falling for this. (Sadly, we're kinda experts on Nazism.)"

The tweet - which has been largely praised online and shared more than 15,000 times - is one of many posts from usually staid, official government accounts that during the war have shed formality for a distinctly more casual and sharp social media tone, one that is generally more common between individuals or corporate brands snapping back at each other.
