S.B.T.C - JonBenet case. [WSPoster's therory]

I understand that - but it is a very very far fetched theory. Highly unlikely and probably not at all. What about Foster's theory on Psalm 118 (I think it is that one). He felt that SBTC were the first letters of the four lines of a verse connected with that. I also thought the Bible was open to that page. Am I wrong?

you're right,I think Patsy was looking for some kind of religious 'victory',so whether she got it from there or it means saved by the cross,it has religious meaning,IMO.

Not necessarily...

Steve Thomas signed on at Boulder Colorado PD in 1991 and quickly made a name for himself....

Well, what exactly does THAT mean. Even if they had heard or read his name before.. why would the Ramsey's have it in for Steve Thomas....apparently, after the murder, is the only time that they came into professional contact with him. Unless, of course..they had been arrested before, and I didn't know about it...Which I highly doubt. And the initals were SBTC.....with a B in between the ST (Steve Thomas) intitials. So, it doesn't even make sense. Now IF it had of been STBC...or STCT, or something like that....then maybe, it would make more sense. But, not only are the letters out of order, for it to be referring to Steve Thomas...BUT also....why would they include HIS intitials in the sign off?? What sort of bone, would they have had to pick with him....at that particular time...when the rn was written?? SBTC...means Saved By The Cross...its the first thing that popped into Patsy's head.

I have to express my thoughts .?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Steve thomas did not kill Jon Benet what is it your suggesting??

Absolutely not... :banghead:

Previously, I had never looked at SBTC in any order other than the way it was written...

Given the idea that the BC and ST are letters beside each other in the alphabet, I looked at them in a different order...

The BC immediately looked like common abbreviations... Before Christ, Before Children, Boulder Colorado.

ST on the other hand had little connection unless you want to go to Star Trek or whatever... Steve Thomas came to mind as being a noted member of Boulder PD and one who would be likely involved in the investigation...and that ST could have been a Subconscious use of letters by PR to connect the place (BC) with the most obvious future investigator (ST)...

Just trying to think out of the box... as all the 'in the box thinking has gotten me practically no where...'

Geeze... it's gotten so touchy that an old poster can't even play with the possibility of some obscure idea...that might open thoughts up to lead us to another more probable idea....

Yes it IS farfetched....SBTC...standing for Steve Thomas. Unless his name was Steve Bernard Thomas...for example...that doesn't even make any sense.

And I don't believe that she got it from the bible, either. I don't think that with her in such a panic, that she would even think to grab the bible and start reading it. She was way too busy trying to save her own butt. And I don't think that she grabbed the bible and started reading the first letter of the four lines, just to get some initials to sign the note with, either. I think, as I have said before...that she sat down at the kitchen table, with only her notepad and sharpie pen (no bible), wrote that note along with John's version, and added those intitials SBTC (Saved By The Cross)...because its the first thing that she thought of. It only makes sense when you put VICTORY before it. Christians believe...there is VICTORY....because we are Saved By The Cross. Its a saying in some southern churches.

Sorry, I didn't mean to bite your head off. I was just stating my opinion...of course, this case is so bizarre, that it COULD mean Steve Thomas, I guess. I wasn't trying to be mean...I PROMISE.

they had no way of knowing at the time that ST would be put on the case,Thomas himself didn't know it at the time.

thx for posting bc I hadn't heard it in my church, but thinking back to when times I went to others' with friends,I do recall hearing it there.

No, and I didn't mean to offend the poster that said that the ST in SBTC could stand for Steve Thomas. But, I have to agree with you...even though she/he was thinking "outside the box"....the Ramsey's had no way of knowing that ST would be put on the case.

Angel,

I really don't think anyone is trying to be vicious with you. But I will try to explain. The theory is just so outside of the box that some have a hard time even trying to spend time thinking about it - really no offense intended. I can understand outside of the box thinking - but when you are dealing with the death of a child where pretty much everything points to the parents - and also knowing pretty much what happened that night except for the actual murder itself - Why would the parents want to implicate Steve Thomas at all. If anythng, they would not want to antagonize the police at all. They were pretty much insane that evening and not thinking straight at all - so to even think they would come up with this is pretty much beyond the pale.

No offense intended.

And...let me add, that as a former church pianist.....I can attest to the fact that there are many, MANY church hymns with the words Victory and Cross in the title...."Victory In The Cross"...is just one of them.

AMES,

I did not know that this saying was well known in the South. Could Patsy be that out of it to write something like that - I guess so - and John goes along because he is just insane that night and lets get this over with.

Let's see....Patsy was thinking of an undercover narcotics detective when she signed off the ransom note.....YEAH...

The ransom letter was obviously written to take the focus off the Ramseys.

They used a foreign faction with several individuals (Tom Carson and his guests at Pasta Jays).

They respect Johns business...because they work/worked at Access.

The ridiculous ransom amount tied to Tom Carson...the CFO of Access who would know the amount of Johns bonus.

The two gentlemen watching over JonBenet do not like John so do not provoke them.

The last paragraph is personal in that they express their dislike John and are calling him a Fat Cat, telling him to use his good Southern common sense...

It is up to you John! You are the boss...you are the CEO.

It's become obvious that the Ramseys wanted Police to look at his company employees.

I believe that it was the only thing that she could think of at the time...her brain wasn't working. This is the first thing that popped into it...

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing; but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." I Corinthians. 1:18
How blessed are those who are saved by the cross of our Lord Jesus, for they have obtained a godly power to overcome Satan and sin. For them natural death has become a transition from a miserable, transitory life to a glorious, eternal life.

yes,JR even kept pointing the finger at Jeff Merrick, and I believe that's what he meant when he told LA ''this has to be an inside job".

Saved by the Cross of Jesus Christ!

The essence of our salvation is the forgiveness of our sins and justification. Because God has forgiven our sins and covered us with the righteousness of Jesus Christ, we are delivered from the enemies of sin, death, and the power of the devil. Salvation is found in the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ. In him is our certainty of eternal life. As the hymn writer put it: "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness."

This great salvation took place in Christ Jesus. In other words, as Reformation theologians have expressed it in Latin, it is extranos, that is, outside of us. It is found in Christ Jesus. As our sinful condition is objective since we became sinners when Adam sinned, so also our salvation is objective. It is in Christ. Read, for example, the great first chapter of Paul's letter to the Ephesians. Note how the Apostle defines the total work of God has being "in Christ Jesus." Also consider the fifth chapter of Romans in which the Apostle compares our condition "in Adam" with our new condition "in Christ." Salvation is found in the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ!

So do I. I am sure that she was freaking out, and panicking.....she couldn't think straight...so she stuck with something familiar.

The similarity of the anchor to the cross made the former an admirable Christian symbol. Another cruciform symbol of the early Christians, though not very common and of a somewhat later date, is the trident, some examples of which are seen on sepulchral slabs in the cemetery of Callistus. In one inscription from that cemetery the symbolism of the trident is even more subtle and evident, the instrument standing erect as the mainmast of a ship entering port, symbolical of the Christian soul saved by the Cross of Christ.
