20 minutes max til death, they are saying on Fox. They said that the people doing the execution need to be sure they are secure before they begin. I don't get it. The execution is inside a building from what I understand. Why is there a security issue? They aren't in the common green!!!!

They are saying Saddam is a POW of the US. "We" handed him over to the Iraq authorities today so the lawyer is asking the US to step in as it is against the laws of war to hand a prisoner over to the enemy. Which is BS because WE are his enemy.
Unless this is something different, the DC judge denied the motion.

Right BG. I was answering another poster who asked what they were talking about with involving the US in the stay of exec.

So was Oswald and what happened.

Another question: It said that he will be exec. along with another person and his own step bro. But it was reported that 2 of his step bros visited him in jail, took possession of his personal effects and his will. Are these different step bros???

Fox is reporting that they believe the body will be quietly buried somewhere in Iraq and the spot not reported for many years.

I heard that he will be given to his wife in Yemen, but that they hope one day to be able to return him to Iraq to be buried.

I heard it was his daughter, not his wife, who wants him buried in Yemen but Fox is saying that the request will not be honored. There would be more of a danger of people trying to get to the body if it was in transit. It has to be buried within 24 hours. They are reporting that it will be quietly buried close by in Iraq from what I understand.

I'm watching Larry King and the a caption came up saying "US judge denying Saddam stay of execution" What does the US judge have to do with this? I thought the Iraq courts tried him? I feel like a :loser: ....I should have watched more Court TV!!

They filed an appeal in the Federal Court because Saddam is a defendant in a Alien Torts Act civil lawsuit brought by an American for monetary damages. They're trying to say that if he's executed, the American plaintiff's right to face him in court is not honored. That was rejected by the Federal Court. The plain fact is that the US is holding money that belongs to him and that can be placed in the registry of the court to use to pay any damages awarded. Saddam would most likely not have testified in that case even if we brought him to the US to face that action, which wasn't very likely. :)

I heard it was both of them, but it sounds more plausible that he be buried in Iraq.

I bet he is peeing his pants right now. As much of an 🤬🤬🤬 as he was to those he killed in cold blood, and then he hid in his spider hole rather than be captured. Coward.

Does it matter? He will ROT in HELL!!!!!!!!!

He is there now at the site

Their reporting he just arrived at the execution site......

They must have left Syria. That was the last place I remember the family being. They will probably quietly bury in an unmarked grave for now. They don't want anyone making a shrine of his burial place from what I heard on the news.
