They may have worked very hard for it too, good on them :)
Yes, of course they worked hard for it, or perhaps they had a windfall of sorts? Investments? Cash jobs? Inheritance?

In the Day Six presser, the police are asked if they are searching private properties within their search areas. The police said yes, they approach people and ask if they can search their property.
Then the reporter asked if anyone (who owned the properties) had said no yet. The police said no.

(7:25 mark in the video) Link to the presser

They are being asked a ton of questions about the phone pinging - where, when, are there any other phones in the area pinging at the same time as Sam's phone.
They dodge every single question. I have a feeling Sam's phone service is provided by Telstra because Mark Hatt slipped and said "we are still working with our Telstra telecommunications technicians to establish ...."

I had already noticed earlier, when looking at a supplier coverage map, that Telstra have widespread coverage in the Ballarat area.

imo

They've spent alot of coin since they bought that house...pool, cabana, huge sheds and landscaping. They must be rolling in it!
Or they overspent, perhaps, which created its own problems.

My mechanic and his wife do very, very well. They are kind people, no kids, but 4 dogs. They own several houses about an hour from Sydney (Lake Mac), and several vehicles. They have worked very hard and put a lot into investments. I've no doubt the biz in Ballarat would do well. Rural area business in a trade generally do well, it's hard to find good tradespeople and they're always flat out. I'm in a rural town in NSW, the tradies do very well.

If you want coverage in regional Vic you tend to go with Telstra, too many blackspts with the others.

What they have to say about the time Samantha was reported missing, in answering a direct question from a reporter.
(The reporters are very assertive, they ask the same questions in several different ways, trying to get the police to commit to a timeline ... which they won't.)

At about the 9:10 mark ... "Her movements Sunday morning were in line with what she would normally do. She's due back from her run within a couple of hours, and the alarm bells went up when she didn't return from that run, and the family reported."

A reporter said "had she notified anyone before she left the home?"

The answer was "yes, she (can't tell what he is saying due to the wind noise, something about 'regular' I think) and the family are very aware of that". 9:30 mark

Her regular run, confirmed by the police, is the (Canadian Forest) search area.

I could be wrong but it looks like they also added another dam, so there are two on the property now.

Samantha Murphy’s disappearance now treated as ‘suspicious’

Victoria Police are now treating the disappearance of Ballarat mum Samantha Murphy as suspicious after she vanished 10 days ago.
Police have not commented publicly on the case since Saturday, when the force announced it was scaling back its search of bushland Ms Murphy was known to run in.

This quote just blows my mind,
"Forensic psychologist Tim Watson-Munro told Sky News that despite his expertise in criminal forensics, he has “never encountered” a case like Murphy’s. What has baffled Watson-Munro about the Murphy case is that there has been “no evidence” to examine, explaining there is usually a small clue left behind for investigators to work with."

As if he would be privy to evidence!!!! He has just the same access to info as we do! And as if they would share with him if they had a small clue. Far out!

AND other cases have been run the same way, Karen Ristevski, is a case in point. GUH!
There's no evidence ,One minute she there, next minute she's gone ....someones done their homework, and either kidnapped her and murdered her why.

I wonder if SM had an accident or fall while running, and while vulnerable was victim of an opportunistic attack on the tracks. Then dragged to a disposal site (mine etc). There seems to have been at least one substantiated attack of a woman in the area in recent times.
Heart goes out to Samantha’s family. In the family media video all I can see are a distraught daughter and a father who’s mannerisms are very typical of an Aussie bloke from a large regional area.

I don't believe SM even made it to the bush. Police stopped the search early on and they would not have done that if they thought she was out there or there would have been any incident. Police have said it is 'suspicious'. There is no evidence that she even left her property.

I still think the 2 incidents are related with the attacker increasing the severity of his crimes with each incident. Wouldn’t surprise me if there has been more incidents in between.

Why don't the police use a bloodhound to see if they can track her movements,I remember story or a little girl was missing in Colorado and this bloodhound tracked the stranger and little girl for about 15 km I think, they went through the mountains through water, only losing them at a car park.......

No warnings about dangerous people in the area/ to avoid the area. IMO this theory is very unlikely

He would think the police would be making patrols in the area, if there were reports of strangers in the forest

Not sure if I'm allowed to post this....my theory is that:
- Sam left the house and went to the dog enclosure
- she scoops up the moo, feeds it, then let's the dog into the top paddock where it looks like thet keep it. (The dog looks more like a guard dog than a pet, could be wrong)
- Sam carries tho moo to the bin
-the crappy Eufy cameras above the bin capture her leaving through the gate but they only record 30 seconds or so.
-the dog in the top paddock follows her along the fence to the intersection and sees which way she goes.

Not necessarily done any homework. Anthony Parsons was a cyclist in Scotland who was hit by a drunk driver. The driver then removed the body and bicycle and the police never found any evidence of the crime on the road despite a comparatively small search area (confined to about 7 miles of road). The body was only discovered several years later when the driver showed his girlfriend where he had buried the body and she told the police.

There’s a pretty big age difference between her kids.. 2nd or 3rd marriage possibly? Is the previous husband involved? Has she gone back to him?

  • #499
Of course!!!!!!!!!

I even wrote a rhyme about it hehe
I live in fnq I run/walk 5kms - I never take water it’s a hassle to hold , I drink before & afterwards … if I was going out for day I would take water .
I don’t think it matters whether she did or didn’t

I wonder if they have searched the dams
