I'm assuming the wife carried it in when visiting her husband.

No one makes you go through a metal detector to go visit people. I don't even think that they go through your stuff when you move in.

Maybe that will change now.

Maybe they were both residents at the facility and she is also suffering from Dementia. As a daughter of two parents with this disease

What is so strange is Harriett posted a photo of them out on the golf course a year ago. They both looked very healthy. I wonder if this case will go to trial. Wasn't she arrested? If she had dementia, would she be put the jail?

Yes strange although something like a stroke could have rendered him incapacitated very quickly.
However the term assisted living facility made me think they were still independent but in a flat with a warden for example rather than 24 hour care.
Not sure if that’s a thing in the U.S?
I can vouch that the police were involved with my parents when frustration caused one to push the other. No where near as serious as this and guns are not a thing over here.
