If only she would tell the truth! I am glad for a little justice, but it just doesn't answer the questions surrounding his disappearance.

wow.. only ten years???

The charge is unlawful conduct towards a child. I think LE went for a charge they could convict with. She could still be brought up on murder charges if they find more evidence. At least she won't be bringing the baby home!

There should have been a plea agreement, maybe 20 years IF she locates Amir.

I'm glad this case finally moved forward and received justice for Amir. I seriously believe that if he was safe she would have given up his location to save herself from prison.

Now if we could only get baby Gabe Johnson justice too. Elizabeth Needs to be charged!

There's a story about the lack of attention paid to Amir's case as compared to other missing children's cases that's featured on the msn.com website this afternoon. Both Monica Caison from CUE and Natalie Wilson who runs the Black and Missing site have comments in the article.

I read this article yesterday and was going to post it, but it is so discouraging, I decided not to, and also, knew someone else would do so...the cases compared (Amir and Caylee) have many things in common, and yet there is no national uproar about Amir's mother. She should be every bit as known to the public as Casey Anthony and Amir should be as familiar a face as Caylee's. but it just never works out that way.

Exactly!

What about:
Bianca, Gabbie, Keoisha, Joshua, Jhessye?

As well as:
Isabel, Kate, Ayla, Sky, Aliayah, Lisa

The list goes on doesn't it?

Who knows? NG dropped Holly Bobo like a hot potato - that was a compelling story.

The sad thing is, regardless of 'race' or hair color, ALL of these children MATTER! They are special BECAUSE THEY ARE PEOPLE!

The WORST thing is, check those above. Most have been harmed or are suspected of being harmed by someone who is SUPPOSED to care for them.

IMO, the problem is not race. People are sick about hearing about other people harming their OWN children. Aren't you?

I don't think this is about race. Caylee Anthony was a perfect storm. Between Florida's sunshine laws making everything available, and the parents backing up the mother's crazy stories, there was something new available to the news people every day. Amir is every bit as cute as Caylee -- but nobody is buying his mother's BS. MOO

I live in Columbia and believe that's where she discarded Amir. I am also familiar with the articles; either know the quoters personally or am familiar with them. BTW they are caucasian. Also, remember, this is an election year and those commenters are political wannbes. The "race issue" - this is not the way it has been handled per se. The Jennings family lives in Columbia, which is the jurisdiction of the City of Columbia. Our Police chief is African American. Columbia is in Richland County, our sheriff is Leon Lott, handling the Gabiee Swainson case.

MOO is that a LOT of people got emotionally involved in the CA case and others like it. As soon as it appears that family is involved, people turn away. I follow lots of cases (my hobby :)) - just today saw the letter that baby Kate's dad wrote - I couldn't even read the letter! People are just sick and tired of people harming their kids - it is too painful to see it happen time after time.

:maddening:

jmo etc.
