It is not a VA Hospital. Ya'll probably already knew this. www.horrycounty.org/depts/humanserv/VeteransAffairs. This is a map where the Veterans Affairs is located, but does not add anything to what you all have already posted. Duh...I am pretty sure the reporters would have made mention if it had been an actual VA Hospital.

I guess since they weren't able to identify the remains as human right off the bat, that they only found a few of the bones. I would assume they would be scattered by animals, but if this area has businesses and homes, wouldn't someone have noticed the smell of a decomposing body in those warm spring/early summer months?

If not Brittanee, then who could it be? Has she been missing long enough to be fully skeletonized? (somehow, making that statement makes my heart drop into my feet)

Kareem Ward

I stated this in an earlier post on pg. 23 I think or it could be this page.

There is also another lady missing from Conway that has been missing since 1999 or 2000. I have to look her case up to remember her exact name, she was last seen with her husband. I was in contact with a relative of the lady.

It could also be ahomeless person who died of exposure or natural causes. In the past, people were found deceased that I was unaware of as being missing, not that I know all of the names.

I'll go this weekend to get a visual on the actual location. They did state it was in the wooded area where the hunter came across the bones. I'll take the digital with me .

Sorry that web site is missing a letter. Trying the web site again:

www.horrycounty.org/depts/humanserv/VeteransAffairs I cannot get the website address to print correctly. So just skip it I guess. Sorry.

I don't know about MB but Veterans Affairs offices in NYS are mostly business offices for veterans to come to request records and services. I used to work for the County and the NYS veterans affairs office was downstairs

According to an announcement on the BD FB page there will be another search for BD in Oct.

I hope and pray they find her and bring her home soon. She will be 18 in just a very few days.

I should have mentioned that I just returned home this evening from a week long trip at MB.

Didn't see the first BD poster.

Also... From media reports and so forth - it was stated that the BWR is 20 blocks from BH and then these reports deemed this 20 blocks at about 1/2 a mile. This is well more than a mile. From the entrance of BWR to the entrance of BH it is 1.2 miles.

My Mom and I stayed at the BH in a 2 room suite. I do not know what kind of room BD and "friends" were staying in...but I have to say even if they did have a 2 room suite they were falling all over top of each other. I have never stayed in a suite where the rooms were this small. Also there are no security cameras at BH - none that I could find anyway.

I know these things really don't amount to a hill of beans exactly where this case is concerned at this time...but I did want to let others know who have never been to MB.

A while back I found a complaint on the BWR listed on Craigslist. The description sounded horrible of the rooms and service. No refund for the room that these people were in for I believe it was 2 hours, they left because of the condition.

I have gone to MB so many times since the late 60's. Back in the early 70's I considered very strongly staying at BH but cannot remember why I ended up staying at another hotel. The one we stayed at on our honeymoon is no longer even there...Kings Inn. I think the reason I wanted to stay at BH was the proximity to the Pavilion. That is a long walk for Brittanee to be making, especially at that time of evening. A few times we stayed at the Cherokee. Now we are older we go for a little more classy than the Cherokee haha! It feels like a gamble when you pick a hotel anywhere these days. Never know what you will get.

The Pavillion was located North of the BH and BD had to walk South from BH to BWR. There is a newer amusement park located about 3 blocks South of the BH. But BD walked no where near where the Pavillion was located on her walk from her hotel to PB's.

The Pavillion was located several blocks North of the BH. I'm thinking somewhere between 6 to 9 blocks North.

Monroe County meth lab bust
We're tracking new developments in that criminal investigation we told you about yesterday in Scottsville.

Wouldn't surprise me with all the drug references from that group

Monroe County Sheriff’s officials tell us it was a meth lab bust.

Two men have been arrested for having the materials to make meth at this home on North Road and Scottsville Road.

Jason Oberer who lives at the home is charged along with Edward Corter of Hilton. Both men are 35-years-old.

Police were tipped off after a domestic call to the house on Friday night. The men have been released on appearance tickets.

Family braces for Brittanee Drexel's 18th birthday
By Kurt Knapek - [email protected] E-Mail

The pain and uncertainty of the last 163 days have been agonizing enough for the family and friends of Brittanee Drexel, the New York teen who has not been seen since leaving a Myrtle Beach hotel room in April.

But Wednesday - Drexel's 18th birthday - will likely be the most difficult of all, her mother said.

"Brittanee loved birthdays, and she loved a big deal being made about her birthday," Dawn Drexel said. "She couldn't wait until her 18th. We had a lot of plans ... a lot of things she really wanted to do."

Brittanee Drexel is still missing. She was last seen April 25 leaving the Blue Water Hotel on Ocean Boulevard, and investigators remain puzzled as to her whereabouts. Another search will take place later this month, according to the Community United Effort Center for Missing Persons in Wilmington, N.C.

Family members and investigators were encouraged to learn in late August that a missing California girl was found 18 years after she was abducted at a bus stop.

Drexel's family is planning a balloon launch next week in Rochester, N.Y., to coincide with her 18th birthday and the six-month anniversary of her disappearance.

While Drexel has missed several family holidays - Mother's Day, Father's Day and her brother's 6th birthday - along with her high school's homecoming this past weekend, Wednesday will be one of the toughest for family and friends, said Monica Caison, who has been the Community United Effort group director for 16 years.

"The first of everything is the worst," Caison said. "The first birthday, the first Christmas, the first Mother's Day. There's just nothing but questions. That is the torment.

"You just don't know how to treat that day. It's just a reminder of the ugliness of it all."

Caison said that she received "sporadic calls" about Drexel's disappearance after a billboard with her photo was erected in August in the Santee area of Georgetown County.

"Nothing has panned out," Caison said. "We were really hoping to get some information from that."

And the number of tips received by police has decreased during the past few weeks, Myrtle Beach Sgt. Joey Crosby said.

Dawn Drexel said the uncertainty of her daughter's whereabouts or condition has affected her health and has left an emptiness in her other children - sister Myrissa, 12, and brother Camdyn, 6.

"They miss their sister so much," Dawn Drexel said. "For my son's birthday, he released balloons and hoped his sister would get them. They just want her to come home."

Other family members remain optimistic that Brittanee will be found alive and well.

"The hope is not faded because we just don't know where she is," said Carol Wagner, Brittanee's grandmother. "We don't know what happened to her. I have a feeling she's still out there.

"I just think about her every day. I've been sick to my stomach every day knowing she's gone. It doesn't matter if it's her birthday or not. The emotions are still the same."

The CUE is planning another search for Drexel later this month, Caison said. She would not disclose the time or location of the search.

Family and investigators said the story of then-11-year-old Jaycee Dugard, taken from a bus stop in 1991, has provided some extra hope. She was found in August and reunited with her family.

"Those are miracles, but it shows we have to continue to look for people, especially kids," Caison said. "It reminds us to look close to home. I've told Dawn Drexel that we're continuing to look for Brittanee. Without a body, there is always hope."

Wagner said she is happy the Dugard family received "closure," but hopes it won't take so long to find her granddaughter.

"Maybe we'll hear from her on her birthday ... you never know," she said.

Hi, there is a person trying to contact someone who lives in SC to verify some information. You may be familiar with him, Bob. He has spoken to Dawn. Here is what he posted on onebiggroup. I asked if it the psychic Chad referred to was him, he said no.

no, that's not me he's talkin' about... he's just not telin' them what her fate is, Dawn told me 2 psychics had told her the same thing... but i know the answers, i know what happened to her, etc. but need to get verified on websleuths to post it... have permission of BD task force (they're doin' nothin') only reason it's open is 'cause tourism is lifeblood of SC...

i can ID 2 of the men personally... one has been marked by God so that anyone would notice and i know where the mark is and what the bldg where he wks looks like - very unique...

this is all part of a drug trafficin' ring... know lot 'bout that too but my contact has limited resources... need ppl in certain city/area to locate special bldg... also have verified that the house i hav full desc of does exist in area i thought it was but person forgot where they saw it... even have the house number...

This is the next post with more information on the location he is trying to verify.

this is a cocaine (and possibly other stuff) ring... just know the ppl, places and how it's smuggled... it's all ready to post if websleuths would verify me...

need to know ppl in Tampa or Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area or possibly some other city... very, very unique bldg...

the house is near McCellanville, SC area but u can ask KMT, it's a very, very large area, national forest, roads that go for miles and miles, houses here and there, very ez to get lost and very hard to know just where u saw something... it's like a maze...

Police: bones found, homicide suspected
Your Homepage
By Graeme Moore
Monday, October 05, 2009 at 5:19 p.m.

An investigator with Horry County Police said Monday a criminal homicide investigation has been launched after bones were found last week in a wooded lot near Conway.

Lt. Jamie Debari said whoever the bones belonged to did not die of natural causes, though he would not comment on evidence to support that finding. Debari also denied further comment on what other evidence may have been found at the scene.

Debari said the bones, found off Oak Street near Cultra Drive, were sent to an anthropologist who determined the bones are those of a white adult male.
Debari said more information, including an approximate age, would be produced "in the very near future."

Police said "someone" discovered the bones last Tuesday.
