Found Deceased SC - Brittanee Drexel, 17, Myrtle Beach, 25 April 2009 - #7

I think rumors are fair game if noted beforehand and I think you did it correctly. No where did we think you were being matter-of-fact. You stated you heard it from somewhere else. Thanks for letting us know!

Here's a map. You can see Myrtle Beach at C, Socastee at B, McClellanville at A and Charleston at D.

My question would be how did Brittanee get to Socastee? It is very close to Myrtle Beach. Is there any thought at all that Brittanee was hitchhiking somewhere? Was she trying to get to where her boyfriend was? He was in SC somewhere right?

I need to refresh my memory on this case.

Anyone remember the strange dream someone had early on? All the clues from the dream were scratched on a white sheet of paper. He indicated that Brittanee was close to Mr. Pleasant.

This is the last thing I will say (lol, suuuuure) My friend told me that they have arrested someone,--here are her words, they are printed with her permission, and please note, this is not fact, just a locals word:


"yes we're sure she was found in the McClellanville area. Detectives have been here off and on since around July, but they were EVERYWHERE 4 days ago, camping by the river searching for her. Yesterday there was a huge parade-like line of police cars and unmarked cars, and soon after news that she was found hit our community. they arrested a guy who was in suspicion of another murder like 6 years ago, but they couldn't charge him back then bc there wasn't enough evidence. Its so sad, but at least her parents and friends have closure. I hope whoever did this suffers tremendously.
I'll keep you updated."

There have been searchers out lately. Maybe they had also spread farther south than they initially reported & someone got scared and 'fessed up? For sure LE had some info they were keeping close to the vest. Maybe a tip they were withholding was something related to this and perhaps that's why we hadn't heard about activity in this area.

Seems if they were camping by a river searching 4 days ago they hadn't yet found her, but had a good idea where she might be at.

If this is true, closure is a nice thing to have but it's terrible it had to end this way. Luckily, though, (again, if this is true) the perp isn't roaming still.



And if this isn't true at least Britt's thread is getting the attention it deserves.

Monica Caison with the CUE Center for Missing Persons says the sunglasses were located by a group of people collecting wood for a fire on Monday. Officials say the sunglasses match those worn by the teen in a photo taken with friends in Myrtle Beach before her disappearance.

Drexel, of New York, was last seen in the area of 11th Avenue South and 20th Avenue South in Myrtle Beach on April 25 after meeting up with friends from her hometown. Drexel, who was 17 at the time, was in Myrtle Beach on spring break against the will of her mother.

Contact was lost with Drexel and family members in New York on Saturday evening, the same night authorities say she disappeared

Here's a link for the Clerk of the Court for Charleston County. We are looking for arraignment and/or arrest records starting sometime around 1/9/2010. If the search has been going on for 4+ days, I'm thinking they must have questioned/arrested the suspect around the 9th or 10th?

Along the way, though. Off the beaten path most likely, but in the general direction. If the glasses were in an opposite direction then this would be much more interesting.
