I do want to stay positive Deidre is going to be found safe, but I found this. CMPD: South Charlotte Investigation Underway After Woman Found Dead - WCCB Charlotte's CW

The body of a woman was found on 9/7 and it seems that she had just died. Probably not Deidre, but you never know.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a woman was found dead in south Charlotte Tuesday afternoon.

It's a 6 minutes drive from the Greyhound bus station.

Officers responded to Brookhill Road, off of South Tryon Street, around 2 p.m. after receiving a call to assist medic with reports of someone in need of medical attention. Upon arrival, officers located a female who was pronounced dead at the scene by medic.

Mind full of questions after reading that msn article.
She was taking a man named Emanuel Bedford to the bus station, except he never got on the bus.
If they were having a disagreement, surely others would've heard it.
A disagreement of some kind is something that would stop him from getting on the bus.
Or her asking him to stay.
Does the bus station have cameras ? Did she leave the bus station ? Did her cell phone ping anywhere after the
estimated time she left the bus station ?

‘It’s like a nightmare’: Search continues for missing Pageland, S.C. woman after police identified person of interest

Police have listed a person of interest in the search for 41-year-old Deidre Annette Reid who was reported missing from Pageland, South Carolina earlier this month.

Emanuel Bedford is listed as a person of interest in this case.

Family members say Reid was taking Bedford to the bus station. They also say he never got on a bus.

Reid’s brother James Reid said he reviewed the surveillance video at the bus station. He says he saw Bedford walk into the bus station and show his phone to a staff member before getting what appears to be a refund for his ticket.

The lady handed him some money back so he ended up canceling his bus ticket and came right back out and got in the passenger side of the SUV and it pulls off,” James said.

“He told law enforcement that Deidre dropped him off at the Greyhound bus station between 1:50 and 2:00 pm and that he never [saw] her again,” James said.

Reid’s siblings say Bedford is the father of Deidre’s youngest child.

Person of interest identified in mysterious disappearance of Pageland mother

James Reid said Friday that he was grateful investigators are focused on Bedford.

“It definitely took a lot of the pressure off of us,” he said. “Going from not having a person of interest, to having a person of interest. I know it’s not much, but to us, it’s a whole lot.”

James Reid said Bedford has not tried to contact the family since Diedre Reid’s disappearance.

“I find it strange that he still hasn’t reached out to the family, if he didn’t have anything to do with our sister’s disappearance,” he said.

Channel 9 reported that officers in North Carolina and Georgia and state law enforcement are helping with the case.

Deidre Reid: SC mom missing for more than 2 weeks, family offers $10K reward for info

According to Whitley, the investigation is multijurisdictional and involves Pageland Police, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. He said detectives were currently looking for the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe involved in the case. “Locating that vehicle is going to be the most important thing right now in this case,” Whitley insisted. “Somebody knows where this vehicle is.” The police captain said he had viewed the surveillance footage from the bus station and that Pageland Police were working with CMPD to obtain other footage from the area.

Meanwhile, Reid's family members have offered a $10,000 reward for information that leads them to find her.

If you or anyone you know has information related to Deidre Reid's disappearance, you are urged to contact Pageland Police at 843-672-6437.

South Carolina Mom Gives Ex-Boyfriend Ride to Bus Station but Doesn’t Come Home

James Reid said his sister’s 2004 Chevy Tahoe arrived at the bus station, but she never came back to her home in Pageland, which just over the North Carolina-South Carolina state line southwest of Charlotte.

“(Police) confirmed they did receive surveillance from the Charlotte Greyhound bus station and they did state Emanuel went in the bus station, canceled his ticket and then (came) out getting in the SUV with my sister and then pulling off,” he said.

Pageland police told WCNC the bus station was where investigators lost the trail.

What is the actual story....still confusion.

Yes, just what IS the actual story? Where is her car? Did they ever find this "person of interest," i.e. Emanuel ? Any cameras or sightings of the car once it left the bus terminal?

I’m also still pretty confused!

Looking at what’s been shared in msm & from LE:

•Pageland Police Capt Shane Whitley said investigators believe the pair made it to the Greyhound station in Uptown, but that's where they lost Reid's trail.

Augusta, Ga., man wanted in the disappearance of South Carolina woman | WBTW
At the time of her disappearance, investigators said, “It is confirmed that Reid never made it to the bus station and her cellular phone is going straight to voicemail.”
Note: this is the link that states Reid never made it to the bus station, however note the beginning of the statement (bolded in red). That makes me believe LE initially believed she never made it to the bus station. IMO.
