No problem! I think that in addition to the forensic testing they were waiting on, they're investigating not only the killing, but the fire 3 months before, taking another look at what happened. They're digging into Devon's short life to see how he was taken care of by his mother (and others) prior to his death.

They're interviewing Amanda RS periodically. With (reportedly) two polygraphs taken that she's failed, you know that LE is going over her inconsistent statements. Also reportedly she's lawyered up. So they're going to be limited somewhat in what she'll respond to on her lawyer's advice.

Remember Darlie Routier's 16 different statements of what happened in the killings of her two sons? Perhaps Amanda's given several stories, or the same story but with variations that do not make any sense.

We didn't see any appeals in the public from Amanda a la Susan Smith. No tv interviews appealing for help in finding the killer of her son. And with LE reassuring the schools in the area that there isn't a bushy haired stranger running around in the woods with a knife near their areas... well, I tend to think they KNOW who did it and are concentrating on proving it.

Also the prosecutor in that county has a reputation for keeping quiet until it's time to charge a perpetrator and doesn't go in for the media circus prior to a trial. (Edited to add: At least that's what some of the locals have expressed about the prosecutor.)

The DA will ensure they have all of their ducks in a row, before they even consider charges. Devon will see justice, and the "person" ahem we all know who that may be, will be charged and convicted and sent to prison.

Just because things don't happen in a timely manner, does not mean that things will not happen. Look at cases that are decades old, justice is and will be served for this child.

*nod* But, for those of us who don't see the intimate works of the Wheels of Justice turning, and all the gears and cogs intermeshing and grinding their way to turn out Justice, a little levity is welcome.
