SC SC - Johnny Lamar Brown, 44, Myrtle Beach, 3 Aug 2012 - #2

Hi Peek, Am I doing something wrong? I tried to post on Tom Joyner and Michael Baisden FB page, but, I didn't see any way to start a new post, I only saw how to put a comment under something else. I also couldn't find the new FB page. I "unliked" the old FB page. It sure is great having a member of the family on here answering all our questions,

Hi Maureen,
Some pages have a spot for new comments, but if they don't I just toss it in anywhere. I figure someone might see it!

It could be greater..... ya think?:dunno:

I never expected that so many strangers would try and help Johnny. It's amazing that people who don't even know him would be so concerned.

You guys are simply awesome, and honestly if I ever lose a dime, I am calling you guys to help find it!!! I just had to respond to this post by PF because some of us are a bit far left of concerned, and into the realm of obsessed with looking for Johnny! I live in Augusta, GA - approximately halfway between Cartersville, GA and Myrtle Beach, SC, and I have truly changed the route I drive, I frequently go to my window and look outside at work, I take fliers with me everywhere and give them out to random police and homeless people, I have taken them to the ER at my trauma center and the local homeless shelter, I have plastered facebook with information.... WHERE IS HE???? I can't bear the thought of someone who is challenged and unable to communicate, lost and alone. I can't bear the thought of his Mom and Dad wondering where he is!!! Heck - his entire family must be insane with worry!!! If Julie makes it back, I want to give her a hug and offer every ounce of my strength to do whatever is necessary. We are NOT giving up - No Matter What!

I wonder if it's the MBPD who could run a records check and see if anyone has applied for any benefits under Johnny's name. If Johnny is an adult without certain legal arrangements, I don't think his family is even allowed to check on that.

Dunno. It's the sort of thing you can sometimes get a rep on the phone to tell you, if they are feeling charitable.

I'm getting kind of bummed at nobody hearing from CUE. They may have suggested things like that to the cops and could let us know someone is on stuff like that.

My thinking, btw, is that someone might know that Johnny will be able to get some benefits pretty easily. They may see that as income they can snake from him. But they'd still have to apply! Probably with him, in person.

If we hear nada for much longer, I'll call the MBPD myself and suggest it. The lady I spoke with before about a reward was lovely. I never heard back from the officer she gave my number to, though, so communication and organization on this case may not be top notch, imho. That could be fine, except it means that Johnny definitely needs folks pushing for him.

OTOH, the lady I spoke to sounded absolutely like she'd pass a message along; it wasn't really anything an officer would need to speak to me about, so they may be completely on top of things.

Oh, I just wish we knew the status of things a little :(

Would they require ID to apply for benefits? I can see where he could become a bit of a "golden goose" for someone with bad intentions. It's worth looking into, for sure!

I don't think it is too hard to get fake ID.

I hate to be morbid and keep bringing up negative stuff, but I am worried sick about Johnny Brown, and this story reminded me of exactly why I am worried sick! If Johnny was obviously 'disabled' by his speech impediment, that could have been a red flag, or a silver platter, to some scheming reject of a human being who saw an opportunity to "be nice to Johnny" and "take him in" with promises of ____________ (fill in the blank). It would take time to get Johnny under control, and it would take time to get fake ID (if necessary), and to apply for disability/insurance on him. Here is a story that sickens me because of the story itself, but also because I can't bear to think or something like this happening to a guy like Johnny Brown!!! :please:

We MUST keep Johnny's story in the media - maybe someone in an office where someone came in and filed a claim would be suspicious!! Oh, please come home Johnny.... I KNOW as a Mother myself, that his Mom is worried sick and is living one of the worst nightmares of her life.

Did Johnny carry an ID card on him?
Getting fake ID's may be easy but it's not cheap. I really hope someone isn't trying to pass him off as their brother or something in order to take advantage of him like that.
Reannan, that story is horrible to read!! That will give me nightmares.

The report says he did not take his wallet or ID with him when he left.

Praying that Johnny is located today...safe and sound.

Right now we have no way of knowing if there have been any more sightings, anywhere,if Johnny has continued to try and call home or if there have been any new leads .

I hope Johnny has shelter and food today .

:dunno:

I updated posts on the Cartersville and Myrtle Beach Topix. I also posted in the Topix forums in Georgetown,Atlanta, and Charleston. With video.

On the Cartersville Topix there were people commenting, but they were trying to figure out who JB even is :what:. Hopefully the video will help them.

The minutes last forever MissJames lol!

Its Johnnys birthday on the 4th October from what I found on a missing site, I'm hoping he might be home by then?

Here we are - Saturday night and over a month since Johnny went missing. Julie, I hope you come and help us.... we are desperate.

Maybe he is home and that's why the family isn't so concerned with finding him? :please::please: Should I even waste my time trying to find the new FB page again? My concern over this alleged missing person has shrunk to about 1%. I'm one of the people who emailed Jane Velez-Mitchell and Nancy Grace. For all we know, they responded immediately by calling the family phone numbers on the poster and........we all know what happens next:banghead::banghead::banghead: This will probably be my last post here, there are so many other people working furiously to find their loved ones, Amy Bradley's family for one. I invite anyone that hasn't read about her case to come on over there for a while. Bye.

I've been following this case and felt panicked for this man at first. Now I don't know what to think. I'm hoping that his family got another call from him and they're on their way to pick him up. But, IDK, if he was found I would think CUE would be notified and Johnny's status would be updated on their website -- but no updates.
