Its been a long long time since there were any sightings of Johnny now as far as we know, I wonder why The family are coming back to Myrtle Beach? I would have thought it might make more sense to go to another town or city and try and raise awareness, it really doesnt seem like he is in the original location. I know that is the focal point, but from what I read, the parents spent much of the time in the hotel room, I dont know if that was true or not.
Maybe it would be more productive to make appointments to meet LE in some different towns/cities maybe on the way to Atlanta from Myrtle, just to try and bring Johnnys profile up a little?

Out of interest, the woman that Johnny was mentioned to have been seen with, does anyone know what she looked like?

That was the plan awhile ago, but it may have changed since then. Who knows? It's Myrtle Beach's case, but I wonder if that changes when he's spotted somewhere else? ITA with you about visiting other towns and cities.
That makes a lot of sense since he hasn't been seen in this area lately (as far as I know).

I don't know what the woman looked like, but maybe Miss James or OLG would know.

<modsnip>. I just can't forget about Johnny...

There is another case just added here on a Ga 18 yr old, found after being held prisoner by his parents in his room. I am posting the link to the thread. It breaks my heart that Johnny could possibly be held prisoner right now by someone who has come in contact with him. So depressing... http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8385922&posted=1#post8385922

<modsnip>
The story of that young man makes me sick. I was expecting that family was dirt poor , but they live in a rather nice house.

I have not been in contact with the family since my last trip up to MB to look for Johnny.

I do want to point out that the picture the family put out has their contact info on it ,I didn't search them out. I went where I was asked to go and followed up where I was asked to follow up.

We don't have any current news about sightings ,tips or plans the family is making. I don't see any new media stories. For all I know ,Johnny could be back home.

I couldn't remember if the woman's description was in the police report or not.

The family's contact info is also on their FB page which can be seen by anyone.

I agree, there's a shortage of information from the media. I check every day and will also do so in the future. Just in case LE or the press wants to throw us bone. I won't hold my breath....:banghead:

The news report /interview only said a white woman ,I believe. News reports are the only info we can discuss ,now so that's it.

I just e-mailed Brianna Smith at the Channel 13 News station to see if there's been any new news. If she gets back to me I don't know if I can report that, but it might get her to do a follow up story that will be ok to post. Did any of that make sense?????

  • #267
Brianna Smith from News 13 e-mailed me back and said she's checking in with LE and will let me know if there's an update. She said she was just talking about Johnny today! (I hope this is ok to post since BS is not a member here as far as I know!).

Does anyone know when Johnny and his family checked into the Sea Crest Resort?? He went for the walk to the Family Kingdom Amusement Park and disappeared on 8/3/2012 - which was a Friday. I remember reading that Johnny went missing the day after they got to Myrtle Beach. Is this true? Did they check in on Thursday then?? Most of the resort rentals are for long weekends, or are for Saturday thru Saturday rentals. When did they go? Reason I am asking: Trying to put a timeline together. It is time to start back over and look at what happened in the beginning of this case. I am a LONG way from being ready to throw in the towel on this one.

  • #269
wow, I can't believe he hasn't been found yet. I was reading here a few weeks ago and thought, they are so close to finding him. What happened? I know people that are good at flying under the radar, but he is not experienced at this, maybe he is living with someone now. Could a shelter have him, but not realize it is a missing person? I pray he is found soon, the clock is ticking....

A time line would be fantastic! The only potential problem I can see is that much of the information that we know does not come from the media or police reports, so it might be difficult for you. I'll look around and see if the check-in date is on any news reports. I'm not throwing in the towel either. I'm working this the best ways I know how (which isn't much, but I'm trying LOL)

Let this be the day that Johnny is reunited with his family!:please:

BBM Reannan, I'm not sure about the parts that are bbm. Like peekerfoo said, we would have to go back and check the media and LE reports. I agree, we can't give up on finding Johnny. I wish we could find a report from the media that would tell us something new...Other that going back and starting from the beginning, it's turning into a waiting game... I check the Cartersville paper everyday, nothing new there. We don't have a TV station, only 1 radio station, but nothing new there either. I'm praying we will get news from somewhere...

I hope this is OK to post... I have gone back through thread No. 1, and tried to create a timeline from the conversations our members had with the family, and from various news articles and personal accounts. I know it isn't perfect, but it is interesting. I DO believe Johnny was lost and having so much trouble communicating, that he was just ambling around for the first few days. His family probably came close to catching up with him a few times. Anyways - here is what I have put together. I have tried to save the sources for most of this in another file, and I have listed some of the links where the information came from. Everyone here has done such a wonderful job, this information just seems to valuable to not organize and use as we go forward.

Timeline from Websleuths postings and news articles:

5. 8/3/12: 7:00 PM – Johnny is seen in the Waffle House near the Whispering Surf Motel at 2608 South Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, SC. Johnny asked a waitress named Angie and her husband for a ride. 7. 8/3/2012: 10:00 PM - Police in Surfside stop Johnny off the bypass near Georgetown because he was walking alone down the road. They discovered the name of the SeaCrest hotel and called the hotel, but Johnny wasn’t reported as missing yet. Georgetown LE dropped him back off in Surfside.

8. 8/3/12: ??? PM – Johnny called home to Cartersville from a Chic-Fil-A, Arby’s and from a couple of cell numbers. This was discovered by the grandkids when they got home on Sunday, 8/5/2012.

Every morning now, I google news for "Unidentified Man Georgia" and "Unidentified Man South Carolina". This morning, I found an article about a man who is unidentified that died after an altercation with police in Oxford, Alabama. Apparently, the man had driven a car with Georgia license plates to a car dealer ship and was pounding on other vehicles trying to get inside of them. The police used a stun gun on him, and he went into respiratory arrest and died. So sad!!! Probably a drug-related case, but this line in the attached article caught my attention:

“He was irate, sweaty, and his speech was all incoherent,” Partridge said. “His hands were bloody and his pants were down.”

The Dennys would be the one on 17 business in Surfside. It's a short walk to the McDonalds and The Pottery is right behind the McDonalds (added for orientation sake LOL)

Regarding Brianna Smith--She is indeed putting her efforts at the moment into the Abigaile Lefevers case. I saw her on the news last night riding around with Surfside PD. Hopefully, while she was with him, she obtained some info about Johnny!

Good work on the timeline!

Here's what I find sad--as far as I know the last story about Johnny was on Sept.2, there are no updates on FB or CUE's site, and no press releases from LE. Are we the only ones who still discuss this? I am hoping Brianna gets on this because it seems that without any media attention Johnny is going to be lost for a long, long time. Perhaps we should contact all of the media outlets, including the one in Cartersville, and beg for an update to this story? I think Johnny deserves at least that much.

Great job Reannan!
It's good to have all the dates and sightings in one place.

If the later sightings are indeed Johnny and he was staying in the area for the first three weeks, it doesn't sound like he knows how to go home. I think he may be staying there and just blending in with everyone else for these last three weeks because that is all that is familiar to him at this time.
Maybe instead of trying to track him down, someone could just stay in one of his haunts and wait on him to show up again?

On the other hand, if he hasn't been spotted in three weeks, maybe he did accept a ride with someone and is who knows where. If this case was publicized enough, maybe the driver would see the story and call LE?

I just really don't know what to think anymore.
