I wonder if it's the MBPD who could run a records check and see if anyone has applied for any benefits under Johnny's name. If Johnny is an adult without certain legal arrangements, I don't think his family is even allowed to check on that.
Dunno. It's the sort of thing you can sometimes get a rep on the phone to tell you, if they are feeling charitable.
I'm getting kind of bummed at nobody hearing from CUE. They may have suggested things like that to the cops and could let us know someone is on stuff like that.
My thinking, btw, is that someone might know that Johnny will be able to get some benefits pretty easily. They may see that as income they can snake from him. But they'd still have to apply! Probably with him, in person.
If we hear nada for much longer, I'll call the MBPD myself and suggest it. The lady I spoke with before about a reward was lovely. I never heard back from the officer she gave my number to, though, so communication and organization on this case may not be top notch, imho. That could be fine, except it means that Johnny definitely needs folks pushing for him.
OTOH, the lady I spoke to sounded absolutely like she'd pass a message along; it wasn't really anything an officer would need to speak to me about, so they may be completely on top of things.
Oh, I just wish we knew the status of things a little
