YEAA!!!! Go Maureen! I just went to the page and 'liked' it! I have been spending a lot of time over in the Jessica Ridgeway threads, and the thread for the 11 year old who was abducted, by found by hunters in Wyoming. I will never, ever, ever, ever, forget Johnny Brown, however, and I am so glad we still have something we can proactively DO!

I sure hope so, but it scares me half to death to think about him still missing, still trying to find shelter and food. Maybe he is with a group of homeless hidden under a bridge or in an abandoned shack somewhere. So why can't MBPD just do a check on some of the homeless hangouts, see if they can run across him? They could show his picture around, it wouldn't take all that much effort or time. He has to be somewhere!!
I have a son in LE, I think I am going to ask him for some tips, see if he can come up with something none of us have thought of. It can't hurt.

I believe the MBPD and the Surfside PD have been doing those things, TxLady.
It's probably even easier for them now that many of the tourists are no longer here. JMO

Edited to add---My biggest fear is that he's no longer in this area and wherever he is now, the folks there may not even know that he's missing! I wish he would call home again or walk into a police dept.!

Peek - that MB flyer is the one I was looking for, said to call MBPD, no mention of family - I think that is best. If his family wanted a FB page, they had 2 months to do it, only took me 10 minutes to set up. I tried to put it (mb poster)up on FB but it wouldnt let me, I think maybe it is too big?. I'll see if there is a way I can post it w/out the pics, since I already have those. Can those of you that liked the page, post photos on it? I dont know how it works, need someone with more tech savvy than me, maybe fabgod, or is he swimming to Virginia? Thank you peek for your PSA about it not being affiliated with WS. Thats also why I dont want the fam involved, if they come to the page, that is fine, but, I am not seeking them out, like they are not seeking.........never mind! But, no, this is Maureen, concerned citizen, not Maureen websleuther, only public info and not much of that, yet! Article says at the bottom that he has medical problems but does not have Alzheimer's. Wonder what the details are behind his disappearance?

WHY can't Johnny be found? Somebody has to have seen him around somewhere!!

I can't remember now if it was said publicly how Johnny got around Cartersville. Did he walk, ride a bike or a bus, hitchhike, etc?

If he was spotted last at Surfside Beach, could he have walked there? If that is the case, it looks like he may be traveling south on Hwy 17 towards Charleston. Following Hwy 17 south would eventually get him to Georgia. Are there signs pointing to GA?
Would he know the word "Georgia"?

I believe he could understand following a road to get somewhere, but I just don't think he has the concept of traveling by different roads and interstates.

I placed some posters as far as the city of Georgetown, SC. I have always thought he headed south. Originally, he was picked up by the Georgetown County PD and I think he was saying "Georgia" and it sounded like "Georgetown" to the cab driver who gave him a ride. Georgetown County starts in Murrells Inlet which is only a few miles from Surfside Beach.

As far as how he got around at home, I only know what I was told, but I don't think it's in MSM, so I can't say. IMO he looks physically fit, so I imagine he got a lot of exercise.

Am I right in thinking that Johnny got the infamous cab ride where the driver couldnt understand him and he was dropped off , then the Police picked him up and left him near Surfside?

Also, it was mentioned that he knew Georgia and there may have been some confusion with Georgia and Georgetown, Peekerfoo dropped posters off for Georgetown a while back iirc.

I did do a Topix post for him in Charleston (and Atlanta, Cartersville, MB, and Ninety Six, SC). I haven't been down that way in awhile but will be going there in a couple of weeks to pick up someone at the airport. If he's not located by then, I can bring some posters with me.

In answer to another question from watcher9, here the signs for 17 say "Savannah" not Georgia specifically, IIRC.
