BBM
Dillon is much farther than that from Georgetown. I'm not good with maps either, but I believe it's even further than MB is from Dillon. It did catch my eye because it's close to I-95.

ED to add---I looked at the maps and it looks like there are TWO Georgetowns in SC??? Is that legal?? LOL!! My apologies, Watcher9! I'm going to read more about this "other Georgetown" right now!!!!!!

When I read your post, I decided to try the Yahoo maps and saw there was a Dillon, GA near I-95 close to FL also and then I added Georgetown and it came back to the town on the coast between MB and Charleston. It doesn't show the Georgetown that I saw on google.
When I came back on the thread to see if it was Dillon, SC or GA, I saw your postscript. It's hard to believe there are two Georgetowns in SC and two Dillons on I-95. I also found out there are two Dillons in GA - the other one in NW GA.

You were correct, Georgetown is that close to Dillon, but it's the tippy top of the county and I was thinking of the city. I looked for a county label for Horry county and couldn't find one, so that's what threw me.

Okay, I went back to google maps and pulled back up Dillon and Georgetown was there beside it. So I went to Dillon's county (which is also Dillon) and found this listing of towns in Dillon County which shows that Georgetown is also in Dillon County. What a small world if they have to name two places in one state the same!

ETA saw your post. Well, at least we passed the time and I found a tv station for Dillon WPDE. I will have to go back a page and see if that's the same station you were referring to.

OK now don't freak out but there is a WPDE in Florence and Myrtle Beach. It serves both areas. :what:

FYI The PD in WPDE stands for the Pee Dee River and that's what they call the areas near it. At the beach we're apparently The Low Country.

Swamp land?
Or, Low land as compared to the mountains in the western part of the state?

I think because we're at sea level and because we're low compared to the Upstate and Midlands. We also have swamps, so we can check "all of the above".

I just got an e-mail back from Brianna. First of all, let me say she is a sweetheart. I don't think I can talk about some of the e-mail so I'll say most of it in a generic way.

-She feels the same as we do and has most of the same questions.
-CUE will not return her calls.
-LE has told her there is nothing new to report (no sightings...nothing)
-She would love to do another story about him, but has NOTHING to work with.
-If anything new comes up she will do a story.
-She told me to e-mail her anytime and thanked me.
-Her frustration level is the at the same level as ours due to circumstances beyond our control...

I give her so much credit for TRYING.

So, that's where we're at. Sorry the news isn't better.

And we give you thanks and credit for trying also.

We've reached a standstill ourselves and until something breaks, we will just sit on our hands except when we are checking anything and everything we can think of.

Have a great evening.

This whole situation is beyond frustrating.:pullhair:
Thanks, and you have a good evening, too.

I think it's the Lowcountry because we are at sea level . Sometimes the roads in downtown Charleston become canals when high tide and heavy rain hit at the same time. : (

ETA : Just saw Peekerfoo's post with the same answer so if she says it ,it's got to right !

When OLG and I found vendors who had seen Johnny at the Flea Market we called a woman who shall not be named . After a few back and forth calls ,getting nowhere, we finally texted (or called :waitasec: memory shortage) Brianna.
She texted an Officer from Surfside Beach who met us at the Flea Market and talked to the vendors who had seen Johnny . He was pretty thorough and spent a good bit of time there and promised to go back that night .
I think for Brianna ,this is much more than just a story . :hero:

That's so true, Miss James. She says Johnny is on her mind all the time. It's funny that he has so many advocates that he's never even met!

I still think that you and OLG should start a PI business! You really put your minds and heart into this.

I think Johnny's story has touched a lot of hearts and souls, and most of them are very frustrated at this point in time. I just don't get it!!! How can someone like Johnny go missing, and life just go back to normal so quickly? I am pretty darn sure it is NOT normal for his parents!!! I can't IMAGINE what they are going through! Honestly, one of the reasons I put the time-line together is because I was beginning to suspect the family being involved somehow! :truce: How can you NOT??? Look at what we deal with here at WS's!!! And honestly, if you wanted to 'get rid of' or 'collect insurance' on a family member - take them on vacation - take a picture of them, and then.... make them go poof! (Think Kyron Horman). After studying the time-line, however, I DO believe Johnny Brown wandered off, and got lost. Because of his speech impediment, he had problems communicating, but he TRIED LIKE A prizefighter for several days... and then - nothing. So.... what happened to a relatively young man, who was naive, yet NOT completely dysfunctional? What happened to a man who was obviously trying to find his family and then went off the radar? If he OD'd, or had a fatal accident, surely, we would have a body by now, but we don't. Where are you Johnny Brown? I look for your face everywhere I go, and I am a few hundred miles away - between your dog Blackie and where you were last seen. I am praying harder than ever tomorrow!!!! Thank you ALL for staying with this case!!! My hope in humanity is grounded by the people here at WS's.

I was drawn to this case after listening to the radio show with Johnny's sister. I considered her air time as a sort of endorsement, and thought his missing status was certainly important enough to check out after that.

Even though I am too far away to do anything constructive, Johnny's plight has had my full attention ever since.

Again, I have the utmost respect for the many of you who have worked so hard to find him, as well as to keep the case updated for the rest of us following. Bless your hearts!

May tomorrow be THE day...

BBM I agree shana, that Websleuth's radio show with Johnny's sister did seem like it was an endorsement for us here at WS to help search for Johnny...

It would be WONDERFUL to know if they took even one more picture of him that day, one where he is looking at the camera.:please:

I don't know what else we can do, you all have done so much. Thanks to Briana, it sounds like she is trying hard to get some answers. My heart is still heavy for Johnny and I pray that wherever he is, someone will help him find his way home. His family must be devastated.
You guys here are fantastic. You all deserve (((((((hugs)))))).
