SC SC - Johnny Lamar Brown, 44, Myrtle Beach, 3 Aug 2012 - #2

Don't want to freak people out, but there is an UID in Newport News. Beware, Postmortem photo!

VA VA - 6th Body Found in northern VA - No Foul Play Suspected - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Still :please: for Johnny and his family.

I don't think that's Johnny because the man has gray in his hair and I believe the family said that when JB has facial hair there isn't any gray. The skin tone seems different, too.

I find it odd that there are 6 bodies. Is there something in the water there??? Yikes!

Isn't it sad that there haven't been any more recent articles about Johnny? It's as if he never existed. :(

Ummm....I am certain that early this morning the date on that article was Oct. 5, 2012! Although most of it is old information, I thought it was interesting that someone was doing a new story and wondered if the reporter had talked to the family recently. As others have pointed out, this case is so strange. :waitasec:

Johnny, wherever you are, I hope you were able to spend your birthday with good people. Hope you'll get to see your family soon, because I know you miss them and they miss you.

Here is a description of what the deceased man was wearing:

He was found wearing a a yellow Nike shirt and black pants with a gold belt. He was not wearing shoes, according to police.

Not the clothes Johnny was wearing when he went missing, but I suppose someone could've supplied him with a new outfit. Anyway, I'm glad it doesn't appear to be him, but sorry for those who have lost a loved one.

Indy Anna, I can't tell you how many times I've googled Johnny's name and got so excited because an article was there that I hadn't seen before, only to find out it was old. Sometimes what pops up is misleading as far as how recent it is. At least the article reminds us that, once upon a time, people were searching for Johnny.

The last part of your post brought tears to my eyes. I also hope he is with good people, even if that's unrealistic.:please:

I don't see a pic of the body. What am I missing?

I am very sad that Johnny wasn't home for his birthday. It must have been pretty lonely for him. I remember many years ago, not being able to be with my family on my birthday and it was a lonely feeling.

Johnny, wherever you are, I still say a prayer for you every night, and for your family, too.

TxLady, when you read the story there's a "click here" link in it. I think it's in a different color, too. I feel bad for this man, whoever he is.

It is sad that Johnny wasn't home for his birthday and I'm sure he was lonely, being away from his family on his special day. Too bad the media didn't pick up on the fact and do a story on him. I was hoping to see his new Facebook page, too. I had it in my mind that they'd be putting a new one up in his honor today, but that didn't happen either. I am so terribly sad that he hasn't been located yet. How will anyone know he's even missing if the story isn't kept alive and there's no FB page for him so people can circulate it? How can a man just fade away aand nothing more is said or done for him? We keep his story going here on WS, but he needs more. Unfortunately, it isn't up to us to do interviews or make him a FB page. We aren't steering this sinking ship...

IMO, Johnny's birthday was a missed opportunity to really drum up media/public interest in his case by those that have information. It is so unfortunate that this did not occur.

:banghead:

Still praying.

Hi, everybody! Well, I just went on facebook and looked for johnny, all i found was the other john lamar brown from Gainesville. He's probably wondering why so many people keep looking at his page- HAHA! Then, I put in Cartersville, GA and every site that let me , I put up JLB's missing poster, their convention center, some medical office, the local Walmart, etc. Maybe someone local can add some info to this story that we are all missing. Maybe tomorrow, well, later today, I can do that for some of the cities here in Virginia, in case he wandered this way. Maybe his face will be seen by someone who unlike all of us doesn't spend his free time perusing morgue photos and trying to identify skeletonized remains! You know, regular people! NORMAL PEOPLE!! HAHA:p

I remain confused why this case was given prominent attention on a radio show...and then?

Would someone please clarify the following: Was Johnny last seen by family as he left a f2f meet on the street with his sister Jacque? This question arose for me a day or two ago when reading thru the thread.

Last of all, fabgod, you give good earworms but I don't mind in the least...just goes to show how much impact your tube can have to help find Johnny Brown! Thank you so very much for putting it together...you rock!

Kai,
You are so right, There was a massive opportunity to use Johnnys birthday to reignite the search and interest in JLB, but what was done? nothing!

Is Johnny still missing? there doesnt seem to be any interest at all from the Family members in keeping up any sort of awareness.

When you contrast Johnnys case to many of the cases of missing people in the US and the UK, the families are constantly looking to keep the missing persons profile in the news, anything, just to get a little exposure, this case?
we search, we offer our help, we make and distribute posters, we even go to meet the family, we post on websites, chase TV and radio reports, we even write a song.......
Yet we get nothing back as far as information or requests for assistance, is that normal?

That was the last time he was seen by family as far I know. JMO and all that jazz.

I asked earlier about Jacque because we haven't heard much from her in the media and she was supposedly the last one from the family who spoke with him.

What's an earworm?

I was wondering the same thing! I wonder if it's when you get a song stuck in your head and can't make it stop? That's a good thing because it means the song made an impression!

I've been thinking about a couple of things:

Is it possible that the family took down the original FB because their phone numbers are on it and they were getting calls from sickos and it was upsetting them? Still, a new one without the numbers would solve that issue.

Could Johnny communicate clearly enough to find his way to a relative's home in SC or GA? Like Fabgod said, is he still missing? If not, maybe someone forgot to alert the media? I imagine he still is, but nothing would shock me anymore.

Fabgod also brought up another good question--is this normally how this all works? I've lurked here for a long time before joining, and I don't recall too many cases just like this one.

Do you think that, since Johnny's dad is a Reverend, that they've just put this all in God's hands and have faith that he'll return safely? Perhaps that's why they don't seem as anxious as we'd expect? If so, then I would remind them of this--
God helps those who help themselves.

I have RA and this sitting on the hands thing is killing me! :hand:

Let me say this ; there is a reason the family thinks Johnny has been taken in by someone and is being cared for.

I am a believer in psychic ability . I think it's a gift,a talent that we all have to different degrees. I'm just not sure you can count on info from 1-800 call a psychic that is googled on the internet.

Now that's all I'm allowed to say . Fill in the blanks.

Okay, one more thing...........hypothetically ,of course.........it would sure be frustrating to know the family had the computer savvy ,the time and the money to pursue a 1-800 call a psychic ,but wouldn't follow up with those on the ground who are working to find that very loved one. That might really start to bother someone who was hearing excuses being made for the family about how busy the family must be ,too overwhelmed to do much more, maybe don't have the time ,money or internet access to do much more. I can only imagine how frustrating that could become over time

MissJames, I so agreee with your entire post!

I am reading between the lines and there's plenty there to peruse. I also agree that some of the assumptions made here have turned out to be not quite as some may have imagined. It would be frustrating, hypothetically speaking, if a family had access to all of those technological advances and didn't put them to good use. Yep, that would make no sense at all (from a hypothetical point of view) and could even make some people :maddening: and even feel like they are :banghead: in frustration. I can't see that in this case, because the family took the time to join WS and come on the radio show so I guess they are doing everything humanly possible to find their loved one. Right?

Yep! Right! :oddsmiley:

You should add a warning when you share that link.
I could spend days reading in there .
A LOT of work has gone into organizing that site . It's difficult to decide who to read about first .Thanks for sharing !

Related to Britanee Drexel ,Empathy read that Britannee would be found before her 21st birthday. Her birth date is Oct.7,1991. Today is Oct. 4th. :please:

BBM, I know what you mean MJames. I haven't read here in 2 days because I checked out that site, and couldn't leave it, in regards to posts about Haleigh Cummings and Kyron Horman. Very interesting.
I too believe psychic ability is real. I also believe not everyone who says they are psychic really are (especially the 900 lines). I think we all have a certain amount in "instinct" or "intuition", and like anything else, it's possible to be developed with practice...Hope they can come up with something for Johnny Lamar Brown~

To borrow the words of "Kai" from earlier on this thread, I'm desperately trying to stay sat on my hands on this one!

I think our group may eventually be credited for a new "hand syndrome." Possibly named the "Sitting on the hands" or "no new leads" Websleuths Hand Syndrome. LOL

Happy to see that the family has acknowledged Johnny's birthday on Facebook!!! He would be 45 years old on October 5th!!! So, today is Johnny's birthday! I pray, pray, pray, pray, pray, that today is THE day!!! The weather is going to be getting cold, and I can't bear the thought of him shivering and worrying about his dog Blackie...

Yes, Reannan. And I know he must miss him mom, Rubypop, terribly. I'm sure he thinks of her everyday! :(
