Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!
Snipped from the rules - it says nothing about not being able to start a page for someone, it does say do not contact family, I'm good with that!

Thanks for this clarification on TOS maureen. This is very clear...And I'm good with that too.:)

I placed some posters as far as the city of Georgetown, SC. I have always thought he headed south. Originally, he was picked up by the Georgetown County PD and I think he was saying "Georgia" and it sounded like "Georgetown" to the cab driver who gave him a ride. Georgetown County starts in Murrells Inlet which is only a few miles from Surfside Beach.

As far as how he got around at home, I only know what I was told, but I don't think it's in MSM, so I can't say. IMO he looks physically fit, so I imagine he got a lot of exercise.

BBm Me too peek. I was told also but it wasn't by MSM or LE, so I can't say.

:rocker:
Am I right in thinking that Johnny got the infamous cab ride where the driver couldnt understand him and he was dropped off , then the Police picked him up and left him near Surfside?

Also, it was mentioned that he knew Georgia and there may have been some confusion with Georgia and Georgetown, Peekerfoo dropped posters off for Georgetown a while back iirc.

Oops, Peekerfoo beat me to it, looks like I need to "get on my bike" like our missing friend maybe would?

I have been lurking on this thread for a while but have had nothing helpful to offer. I'm in Charleston and could put up some posters, if someone provides me with the correct one to post.
In answer to another question from watcher9, here the signs for 17 say "Savannah" not Georgia specifically, IIRC.

Thank you CodeSiren. You're an angel.

is anyone else sad that this thread is no longer an "ACTIVE SEARCH"
such a bummer.

Not at all. A few hours of my time is nothing compared to the time all of you have put in trying to find Johnny. Do you all think the MBPD poster is the appropriate one to use here?

Thank you for volunteering to get some posters out.
Your help may be just what is needed to find Johnny.

O/T I just love to "multi quote" now that I know how.

Morning folks. I did reach out to some of the local shelters/ministries yesterday. Today I will get some posters out. It can't hurt, but boy this case is frustrating!

I woke up this morning thinking about this situation and it really confuses me...still. I've been following the case of the two young men from NC who are missing. They have no speech impediments or special needs, yet their family is blowing up FB with news of searches, info etc. That got me thinking ,that even if Johnny had NOTHING wrong with him, I'd still be worried about him. He's a missing person--disabilities or not. I know that he does have issues because it's in the PD report, but even if he didn't, wouldn't someone want him found????

Thanks for starting a facebook page for Johnny. He's been on my mind everyday! Still praying.

I think about those boys too! They must have run off the road, but, why can't they find them? Are they checking bodies of water near the road? Damn, don't make me come back to SC to look for all these people! Speaking of that, do y'all remember about 2 years ago, a father having custody dispute with ex-gf took their son out of school and drove himself and the boy into some kind of drainage ditch? A farmer saw the truck go into the water, but, he was here illegally so he didn't call police right away. When they went to pull the truck out of the water, they ended up pulling out like 6 other cars! Nancy Grace carried the whole thing live! How many of the people we are searching for, aren't murdered, kidnapped, raped, tortured, etc- they just drove off the side of the road and drowned and nobody ever found them! Let's start a revolution where all communities check their local bodies of water and pull out all the cars! I know it costs money, but, what about the closure it would bring to families who are imagining their daughter being held prisoner and raped every day! Not to mention helping the environment! OK, so I looked for an icon of me coming down off my soapbox and couldn't find one! Someone else please insert one for me- LOL

I remember. Those cars were in a farming community near Modesto, in a large channel used for watering the crops. My uncle's ranch is about a mile away. We played near that drainage ditch as kids.

There were not bodies in those cars, IIRC. That place is used to dump stolen cars and also as a place to ditch cars when you need to collect on the insurance. A lot of people gt hit very hard by the housing market there. Land had spiked and people were wealthy on paper by inheriting farm land and selling it to housing developers. But thousands of people lost a lot of money when the market there crashed. So dumping their cars was a routine thing.

Got some flyers up yesterday and I'll try to get some more out today. Leaving town for about 10 days tonight so what I can't finish today will have to wait. Maybe by the time I get back, there will already be good news about Johnny!

I know that everyone really appreciates your efforts! I hope that anyone that lives anywhere in the southern states would do the same. Your efforts may be what brings Johnny home!:great:

I am hoping they didn't run off the road and this was an elaborate plan on their part to escape to the beach for awhile. I know we have to worse case scenario the situation, but I feel and HOPE that there are other reasons that these boys haven't been found.
