I edited my comparison by making the artist's sketch closer in size to MP's photo. For me, the likeness is now even harder to ignore.

See attached.

After reviewing the case info on the missing lady, I really think you may be onto something Chuz Life. Last seen Sept '12, not reported missing 'til June '13? I hope this will ID this UID, so sad that someone's body could go this long without an ID. I just had a few minutes this evening and wanted to check to see if any updates. Glad to see there are folks who care enough to keep investigating.

Just found this mugshot on your missing KY lady Chuz Life:

http://www.bustedmugshots.com/kentucky/manchester/essie-nmn-wilson/106839641

One thing that occurred to me when I read the story of the UID drowning victim was could she have been drunk & fell off a pier? There is a long fishing pier about a mile north of where she was found.

Wow, I find some other mugshots of her as well.

The latest one I found was in 2011.

Have mercy... that poor woman was in jail more than she was out.

She clearly needed help and never got any.

She looks very close to me, especially through the eyes, cheekbones, forehead, and also the neck and jaw. I have reservations about the chin. The point of the nose clearly doesn't match, but after she'd been in the water, it could easily have been bumped, bruised, or swollen. Circumstances certainly seem possible.

Good find.

It's not Essie Wilson. If she had been in jail, then they would have her fingerprints on file.

Fin, I also took a look for the bike rally and found this:

http://bikeweekmb.com/

The NAMUS report states she had crowns and root canal's done on her teeth. Isn't that type of dental work expensive?

It's not Essie Wilson. If she had been in jail, then they would have her fingerprints on file.

I see (in NAMUS) that the VID's prints were taken at least twice and that they are on file.

I'm not sure that means they have already been checked for a match in the national system though.

I'm a bit of a noob... so I don't know how long that would take, whether it is automatic or what...

Just a couple of things to consider.

The shoes that the VID was wearing were heavily worn (as seen in her NAMUS file) and were a Reebok Brand - Hexalite - that was only made for a few years starting in 1997. The pattern was called "Navy Gym" and there are a few pairs on E-Bay that match them perfectly.

I also mapquested the site where her body was found.

The beach (shelf) runs pretty far out into the water and it doesn't look like it was very deep at all.

I would not say, definitively, that it is not her just because she has been in jail. I personally have a family mbr who was the victim of a violent crime and the perp went free for 20 yrs because of incorrect info in a database that showed he was in jail at the time of the crime, when, in fact, he had been released.

LE now has the info, they can check it out. Time will tell.

I agree that Essie looks like a good possibility! I also wanted to mention that Astridxx already mentioned Essie as a possibility a few posts back. Worth looking into though!

Have mercy is right!

Here is Essie's son's FaceBook page if anyone wants to contact him about his mother

I just don't have the heart to do it, if it is his mother.

We aren't allowed to sleuth family members.

Good find though -- thank you for posting the message board link.

In regards to the above two photos: they do not look like a match to me. The faces are different lengths, foreheads are quite different and the noses are not at all similar in length.

In short, I think you're barking up the wrong tree.

However we have seen some really awful sketches before. As quickly as they recovered her, why is there no photo? Could her face have been damaged?

I'm wondering too why there isn't a photo.

I read an article months ago that they might have to release a photo of her. I will try to find that link. Maybe it is possible that her face was damaged?
IMOO.

EDIT: This is the article I was referring to:

http://chronicle.augusta.com/news/metro/2013-05-29/identity-body-found-sc-beach-mystery

" “Our last resort is to show a picture of a dead body, but it might come down to that,” Knipes said."

You would think so. But we've seen a fair number of cases where a state or locality didn't automatically upload prints to the national databases, or didn't do it promptly, so if her jail time's in Kentucky, for relatively minor problems, it's quite possible that searches in Virginia missed it.

As I'm new here, I wonder how much we are at liberty to speculate on a match for a missing person?

I have found a likeness between the Myrtle beach VID and a woman who (as far as I know) has not been reported missing - but would be a likely match - if she is actually missing and it just hasn't been reported yet.

I will explain in private messages if an interested admin or mod can please contact me.

Admins & Mods can disregard my earlier post. I have forwarded all of my suspicions and links to the Horry County Coroner's office for their consideration.

I'll share what (if anything) they have for more information.

I hope you get a response one way or the other. That poor woman must have somebody who misses her!!
