He should have given his wife her right to live. He must be so angry for all of what is being exposed now.
Judge Michelle Childs just formally responded to these suggestions of impropriety, and she’s not playing!
My opinion is that FITS is running scared and trying to do damage control. They are protected by the First Amendment, so they won’t be admonished, but this case has the potential not only to keep them from Alex’s jailhouse conversations but also to set SC case law. And a defendant’s constitutional right to a fair trial is not on their side. MOO

Jailed Hampton attorney Alex Murdaugh has given up his right to accept any interest in the estate of his late wife, Maggie Murdaugh… <snipped> …The legal filing could be interpreted as a way to avoid the property from falling into the hands of those creditors. [BBM]

I'm wondering why they can't find who killed these two?!
Perhaps of interest: I’ve been listening to a podcast by Jim Leach, a 40-year LE veteran, who spent much of his career as a special agent in violent crimes (murder, narcotics, corruption, etc.) with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. He says from the moment the investigators arrive at the crime scene they begin building the case — the very first moment — because a conviction is always their goal. He talks about how SLED is an outstanding organization, and that making an arrest or announcement prematurely can totally undermine the chance of conviction. The investigators will want to have everything in order (all evidence properly handled and accounted for, witnesses vetted, etc.) before they make an arrest in this case. Just Mr. Leach’s opinion. MOO, too.I think they know who killed them, and are just letting him bury himself with all the other things he's involved with politically. Casting a wide net before they snag him. Moo

Wow, I sat there listening to this with my mouth hanging wide open. The depth of the Murdaugh reach into all aspects of the local judicial systems and supporting enterprise is astounding. Two new podcasts:

I found his statements fascinating. I keep going back to the series of questions around his relationship with Alex... He was asked several times to describe their relationship and specifically whether CW would consider Alex a friend. CW's answer was yes, but CW also said he and Alex had never socialized. That alone is rather telling. It seems there is a deep-seated desire to be "friends" with the Murdaughs. Even when they have thrown you under a bus. The good ol' boys strike again. So for those that have watched the entire interview with CW, who believes he was really clueless, and who believes he is just saying now that he knew nothing? To me, he seemed truly clueless, but how does someone become VP at a bank and not understand fiduciary? And to not question ANY of the documents? That is what bankers do - question everything. And I cannot imagine why he still has his job. Even if PSB thinks he did nothing wrong, he comes off as an idiot that knows nothing about banking and even lacks common sense. JMO
