Probably some special code or algorithm programmed into the software. Any time someone enters the name Murdaugh into the system as a defendant, the system automatically deletes it after a few hours.

It’s possible there was liability insurance related to the home and also an umbrella liability policy they had to generally protect their overall assets against loss for something they could be found liable for. IIRC, there are reports the larger settlement was paid by Lloyd’s of London, which would probably be that umbrella policy.

MOO is that the housekeeper knew too much. She was in their employ for years. She took care of the kids and the house. Kids and their friends sometimes reveal things without realizing it. She heard it, or saw evidence of something and someone silenced her. Too bad they didn't do an autopsy. During the settlement process, Alex Murdaugh admitted that he was at fault in Gloria’s death and Alex’s insurance company Lloyds of London agreed to pay out $505,000 for Satterfield’s death.

The first development? The opening of a criminal investigation into allegations of financial misappropriation at Alex Murdaugh’s former law firm, Peters, Murdaugh, Parker, Eltzroth and Detrick (PMPED).


“As with all cases, SLED is committed to conducting a professional, thorough, and impartial criminal investigation, no matter where the facts lead us,” Keel said in a press release announcing this inquiry on Monday.


Keel’s “no matter where the facts lead us” reference struck me as pretty fortitudinous. After all, multiple law enforcement, prosecutorial and court sources have informed me this inquiry is likely to break the seal on a much larger public corruption scandal – one which could soon spread far beyond the family, the firm and the fourteenth judicial circuit, a five-county region of the Palmetto Lowcountry where the Murdaughs (and PMPED) have operated with impunity for decades.


This public corruption inquiry would represent another escalation of this saga – which, again, already features six active criminal inquiries.


“Keel’s promise was a bold one considering where some of these probes could potentially lead – and considering some of the powerful people who could conceivably be implicated during the course of these investigations,” I noted earlier this week.


Still, sources familiar with the various cases assured me Keel meant exactly what he said.


“No stone will be left unturned,” one of these sources told me bluntly.

Gloria Satterfield lawsuit is saying the Vice President of Palmetto State Bank assisted Attorney Fleming in filing the claims. That doesn't bode well for him I suppose, in the thick of it?

"The suit states that, following Satterfield's death on Feb. 26, Murdaugh acknowledged that he was at fault and introduced her family to his "good friend, Corey Fleming, so that Fleming could assist the sons in filing legal claims against Murdaugh for the wrongful death of their mother, with the assistance of a banker friend, Chad Westendorf."

I think Corey has some explaining to do. If the insurance company(s) agreed to settle, whether it's $500,000 or $4,000,000, it's his responsibility to see that the Satterfield estate receives their part of the settlement because he is their lawyer. Alex shouldn't have any access to that money.

I hate when that happens, ppl have to stand on their own and not try to save someone from themselves. Just because they are family, friend, coworker wrong is wrong. Harpootlian doing that speaks volumes it tells me that he has no problem with it.
