If GS's boys were of the belief that their payment amount was supposed to be $500,000(+/-) (all the while AM and banker/lawyer friends had received ~4M or so), it seems incredibly foolish of the M group to not just pay the S boys the money.
I mean arrogant, stupid, greedy , cruel.. all yes. But I think it would've been better for the M group to just give.the boys what they thought was their full payment. In a way, that would've put the payment/settlement issue to rest and maybe it wouldn't have been re-examined now. I get that they probably never thought THIS would be happening, combined with no regard for the S family, but it seems like a relatively small price to pay to cover their bases while they are get their secret payday.

I'm really playing catch up here ...in the FOX interview I noticed in the last few minutes of this video as the attorney was making excuses for AM being in a dark place and depressed, DICK said and I'm paraphrasing that on top of everything AM's father died...that MM and PM were killed on Tuesday and AM saw his dad on Wednesday to bring him home.....I thought seeing his dad on Tuesday night was AM's alibi for the murders
Supposedly he brought his father to the hospital on Tuesday...then from what you just said pick him up to bring him back home on Wednesday. He died at home.

I didn't hear the 911 call.. AM actually said that?? If MM was living in Edisto and AM was living at the cabin, where was PM supposed to be and again the older son. I saw AM's brothers interviewed...why is the oldest son MIA

IMO, with my ears...

"For God's sake Paul. Why'd you have to get involved?"

I think that Alex concocted a story about the roadside event, including the alleged oxycodone addiction to excuse his behavior.
I wanna know if Eddie says they were wrestling with the gun, the gun went off and he ran to his vehicle...with the gun, who shot the gun to leave the other 6-9 shell casings behind at the scene?

Did Eddie forget about those or block them out? hummmmm

I've been wondering the same thing. Why is the oldest son MIA?

His mother and brother were very brutally murdered. His father is in rehab and is being investigated for multiple (alleged) crimes. His paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother just passed away. I think this must be a very difficult time for him. I read he is staying with his uncle John Marvin and his family. I’m sure he needs the support and probably wants privacy. MOO

I agree. AFAIK, he's not involved in any of this.

Alex Murdaugh case: Ethics questions raised after court hearing

"Murdaugh’s familiarity with others in the courtroom Thursday was on full display as he patted and shook the hand of one of the sheriff’s deputies.

"On the one hand some people may see it as inappropriate because he’s now a defendant appearing in that same court," Williams said. "But on the other hand, he’s only a human being and it could be that the court personnel wanted to shake hands with him as they probably did for the last however many years."

I hear voices talking over each other.

I have read that some people hear Alex make a comment that resembles Durst's admission in the bathroom, but, is Alex the lawyer that dumb about self-incrimination? If he's behind the murders, hasn't he thought exactly what to say and what not to say during his 911 call?

Perhaps Murdaugh shot the dirt 7 times before he handed the gun to his relative and asked him to fake murder him.

If you think that the killing of MM and PM was a "warning" to AM, then it seems like you'd have to also believe that the AM/CES roadside event was a botched suicide. Because if the MM/PM killings were a warning to AM there seems to be no reason for AM to try to make anyone think that he was shot at by an assailant. JMO.
I wonder if he and CES were staging this as a homicide originally with the body to "disappear" and not be found. Hence, the multiple shells lying around. He may have intended to disappear out of country for instance. But, something occurred and he was only slightly injured, he panicked and it turned into an assisted suicide for the sympathy aspect.

I'm going to differ with your opinion. And I worked for a life insurance company for most of my long career.
People should have life insurance if they can't handle the expense of a particular untimely death. THAT is the purpose of life insurance. If you are reasonably well off, why would you insure your children? On the long, long shot chance that they might die young, then you can handle the expense, and you will actually have lower expenses going forward. Same thing with a non-income-earning spouse. If you are reasonably well-off, you can afford to self-insure against the risk that they die suddenly, when it might cause you a bit more expense child care, but then you don't need to support the deceased spouse for the many years to come.

For the wealthy, life insurance is most effective as an estate planning tool. So, MM might have had life insurance as a means to pass along the estate to her children, but I'd be surprised if PM did, unless they fell for the 'everyone should have life insurance' argument.

thank you for this....... not even just with the case. Just great info anyway!!!

I have an acquaintance, whose brother has insured to the max. When I asked another person, "why". The answer was because the brother had fully expected his sibling to die young, because of his lifestyle.

Never seen that one in insurance advertisements.

So true... and these Ms have known how to cover their tracks, so I believe this was a gross oversight on their part............

What I have never understood........ with the horrific murders on Tuesday, why was Alex responsible for bringing his father home.

Why not one of the brothers?

Wow. Allegations from attorney for Satterfield heirs:
  • Eric Bland says Fleming admits he sent settlements minus attorney fees to Forge llc
  • Bland says Forge llc is a dummy company/account set up by AM and named to sound like a very large GA company called Forge that creates structured settlements (if beneficiary agrees to long term pay out rather than a lump sum)
  • Bland believes upwards of $4 million was recovered for Satterfield heirs, Fleming took 1/3 of that (over $1 million) and sent the rest to AM P.O. Box
  • Bland says the money should have gone to personal representative (CW). Any structured settlement would have had to been agreed to and approved by CW, court, lots of paper work. So Fleming should have known this was not correct step.

Article I can’t access at IP AM waived right to PM’s estate days before botched suicide.

I don’t understand why the money had to go to CW why not to the 2 boys? Everybody wants a piece of the pie.

As I said earlier when sister got settlement from accident she took lump sum and got it.

To hell with structured settlements.

This was mentioned by Banfield at very end of the interview linked above by @swedeheart
She said:
AM renunciated role in PM estate and instead listed Randy M.
