Dick certainly isn't demonstrating the spunk he's well known for. IMO, he's looking just plain tired.
MOO
Yes, he doesn't look well at all.

Harpootlian slandering northerners! I admit, I laughed (and am originally from the north).
Now, what did he say? ASKING from MASSACHUSETTS!

To explain the GSR, maybe he kept phone in his lap before throwing it out down the road?

And listening to L&C online, my biggest issue with LE is how long they took to go through the parents' home.... JMO.

IMO, this was a critical failure.

From the beginning there was a lot of hesitation for many months from investigators. Everyone was afraid to step on the Murdaugh dynasty toes. It took awhile for Dusty Stone to recuse himself. That helped to lessen some of the intimidation.

Correct. Those clothes he was wearing then would have the residue and conveniently those clothes are MIA. There is no gun in that video either. We only have a story from AM that Paul shot twice and he shot once. The defense will likely try to get the idea across that the GSR came from the shotgun AM was holding when LE arrived. They will ask and infer that GSR can stay on a firearm for an indefinite amount of time; can transfer to whomever picks it up next, and LE doesn't know who or when that shotgun was last fired. Somehow they will need to show that the Murdaughs didn't clean their expensive firearms after using them.

jmo and guess
I think one of Paul's friends testified that they didn't clean their guns very often.... I could be wrong, but I think I remember that.

Also, I agree with everything you are say.

The “rough draft” transcript being discussed was (emphatically) NOT prepared by their people, but by a “northern” company. Everyone in the courtroom cracked up. Gotta love the southern pride.

Bringing forward

I must be missing something because I am totally confused about Paul''s F150 truck. I thought we heard earlier he and John Marvin had traded vehicles so JM could drive Randolph to the hospital and then Paul's truck was later found by the side of the road disabled? Now we have Crosby saying Paul dropped off the F150 the previous Friday at a garage for repairs?

Any thought on why the prosecution didn't have the investigator that collected the rain coat from Alameda testify before Mrs. Murdaugh's care taker? That way the coat would have been entered into evidence and could have been introduced or why didn't they introduce it then for her to say if she thought that was what Alex had under his arm that day? Just curious about their timing on that.

I think they need the caregiver to testify first to get the raincoat evidence in. There was nothing else connecting Alex to the raincoat. Even then they had to fight this morning before the jury to get it in

As to the GSR I am convinced AM had the gun/guns wrapped up in the blue tarp/rain poncho and that is why the caregiver mentioned that the ATV had been moved....I believe AM disposed of the gun/guns (or parts as someone else mentioned!) on the Almeda property.

Miss Shelly said he was messing with his phone the whole time. My cynical self says he just used her as an alibi.

And it burns me up that his dad was taken to the hospital with days (if that) to live, and Alex just stayed at PMPED, working more criminal angles to “solve” his boat case issues. His dad was dying! He didn’t even care. Oh wait, he probably did care, but only because of inheritance. I hope he got nada from his dad.
Which means that his phone should have evidence of all of that activity correct? Wonder which phone he had that night.
Why did he leave the coat and tarp there? I wonder if he forgot that he left them there.
I think he planned to retrieve it after things had settled down but couldn't get it because he didn't want to get caught with it. JMO

The lady on the stand about the GSR sure has the ducks in a row with her job and does very well at explaining it.

Maybe it was picked up from the garage before the repairs were able to be done, used, and then broke down the night of the murders and wound up getting towed back to the same garage?

The Murdaughs have multiple vehicles. Seems to me PM had a boating truck, hunting truck, and a going-to-town truck. We also know that a truck PM drove broke down on the night of the murders when John Martin was headed to the crime scene. JMO

ETA: Perhaps the truck exchanged with Uncle JMM was his F-250.

Yeah, since the start, he's looked like somebody who is off his game.

I'm listening again to parts of Mushelle Smith's direct exam by the State. One of the prosecutor's mistakes was that after he got a favorable answer from her, he would try to emphasize what she said by repeating the same question to her. But asking her the same question seemed to cause her to doubt her original answer and she would then back off and say she wasn't sure and so the original favorable testimony was basically blown. This happened several times. The State should know that if they get an answer that they like, they should just move on. Don't try to create drama by getting the witness to repeat the testimony. Argue it all in closing statement! JMO.

Even the Judge said that she contradicted herself, I think what you're saying is exactly why she was so confusing! She didn't figure it out. Too bad someone couldn't clue her in before her testimony.

Yes. IMO the prosecutor could have picked up on it and changed his tactics. Ask her one time and one time only.... JMO.
