I assume the Defense will move for a mistrial. Bomb threat will likely be basis for appeal if he is convicted. JMO.

On Law & Crime security is very tight going in courthouse. Just like in airport

This better not cause a mistrial. I could see the defense asking for it.

Well that one can still be used along with several other diversionary tactics.

I am curious if there are any other trials or hearings going on in other courtrooms today where a delay or postponement would be really advantageous. And I wonder what the bag check policy is for the other parts of this courthouse. I've only seen one or two times people's bags being checked as they wait in line for the Murdaugh trial.

I had to take my daughter to that courthouse several years ago for a passport renewal and we had to go through a security check for that.

I seriously doubt any other activity is going on in that fairly small courthouse during this Dog and Pony Show.

I can’t imagine that AM would think this was a good idea? Maybe someone thought they’d be helping his case (or their own?) Then again, he hasn’t shown himself to be the greatest thinker.

I was unable to watch this morning and log on to find out about the bomb threat! Anyone else seeing the pattern of when things start getting tough for AM? ;)

I believe this guy was up.

12:22 p.m. – The state calls SLED agent Brian Hudak to the stand. He is a special agent in computer crimes.

Just clarifying... I'm not saying that I think the appeal would succeed on that ground, but I think the defense would argue it. JMO.

Well, yeah, they're defense lawyers. They're pretty much always going to argue for an appeal.

Who was supposed to testify in the afternoon? Anyone really damaging to AM?
Would defense people be dirty enough to stop trial right now? Who ever will be tracked and caught hopefully!
I don't think the defense attorneys would be a party to stunts like this. IMO they could not prevent some other entity from doing crazy things during a trial. I would, however, put more security on Cousin Eddie both in the jail where he currently is and when he's transported to testify in this trial. jmo

I know very little about how a bomb threat will affect the trial enough to cause a mistrial but I do know bomb threats aren't all that rare.
We recieved several at my highschool when I was there and I've even experienced them during my time at the hospital as an RN. In those incidents it turned out to be a group of teens who did it as a prank. Hopefully it's the same here.

I found an article that a trial in Hampton caused a miss trial in 2017.

I knew the defense was going to throw the kitchen sink along with the baby still in the bath water but It's a circus, grab your balloon and popcorn and find a seat.
