Did Harpootlian just say of Cousin Eddie, unfortunately he couldn't do it from 3 feet away"????

Unfortunately?

It would have been fortunate if he'd successfully shot Alec?

Freudian slip and fall?

Okay. He stole money from clients. His son killed someone in a drunk boating accident. Uninsured it left AM personally exposed to a $10 million debt. He allegedly paid someone to kill him after the murder of his wife and son. He had an affair 16 years ago. None of this means a hill of beans.

Where is the evidence that he killed them? Where is it?

If the only physical evidence the state has is gunshot residue on this hand, I would have to acquit. Why? Because he was holding a shotgun when LE arrived and it could have been transferred from said gun. Unless, of course, that was disproven.

I do have to say that I am having a difference opinion of Paul after hearing testimony from friends, young men and adults and sounds like he was a good kid and friend. Attentive to others needs.
Alcohol was his down fall.

I'm sad for PM that there was no intervention for him.

And even when the parents were given the opportunity to blame the court as the "heavy, enforcer," they flipped their noses at the opportunity to keep him sober (i.e., no restrictions as a condition of bail release except to surrender his passport -- this, after being charged for causing the death of MB while piloting the boat while under the influence). Umm.........

* Patrick Frazee got life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing Kelsey Berreth, ALL on circumstantial evidence.

* Tammy Moore received 30 years in prison on circumstantial evidence.

* Scott Peterson received life in prison on circumstantial evidence.

The list goes on......

The evidence in Patrick Frazee's case was a lot different then the evidence for murder here. I mean, he sent someone there to clean up a murder scene who testified and the scientific evidence was all right there.

Harpootlian says that's bogus. “He didn’t do it to get some sort of sympathy. He did it to be dead. That’s why he did it.”
I don't necessarily believe AM intended to be dead. That's just Alex's story, and we know he's an habitual liar. We don't know what went on at the roadside.

What we DO know so far is that AM lied to LE, yet again, to make himself look like a victim.

That goes for almost any case and anything in media in general. We're all guilty of it but at the end of the day, most of us are forming opinions without any real first hand knowledge.

I stated upthread that I was surprised there wasn't anything brought up about a temper or whatnot of AM but honestly, pretty much everyone has said he was a great father and he was great to others.

My opinion is NO way the state calls Curtis Eddie Smith.

I saw Morgan (Paul's ex gf) on the witness list for the state. I really really really would love to hear from her. As someone who dated Paul a long time and who went on family vacations with the Murdaugh's, she's likely to have a pretty good assessment of each member of the family. Sure at first, she would have only seen their public face, but as time went on, she would have seen the private face and heard things from Paul.

Do we know who the witness is that Waters stated couldn't make it. ""unavoidable unfortunate personal event that has arisen"

I thought it interesting that MM told her sister that Paul was not driving the boat.
Just made me realize how AM got this lie out from the beginning.
Such sadness for the aftermath surviving young people on that boat and of course MB family, friends.
MM’s sister is so brave.

MOO

I'll never take issue with a mother wanting to protect her son but not at the expense of another mother's innocent son.

Let's be real, MM: PM was charged after two months in spite of the Murdaugh machine doing its best to kill it.

And PM being so intoxicated not to remember driving is not the same as evidence PM was not driving. JMO

Waters did not identify the witness. He stopped himself -- leaving it to circumstances beyond the state's control.

So was the "family man" case that I was on the jury for!. Not one sign of anger, family violence until the day he took a 45cal. pistol and killed his wife and son. The pistol wasn't found until after the verdict, guilty due to all the plain as day bread crumbs and a pic of him leaving the scene minutes after the crime. The pistol was finally found by a neighbor cleaning their KOI pond after the trial was finished.
