No the witness did not introduce it. The prosecution argued that since the defense had asked the witness about the state of the relationship and how positive it was, the state was entitled to bring in that evidence to show it wasn’t so great. But the affair was 15 years ago and the judge disallowed it because it was so removed from the murders. The state IS desperate if the only evidence they have that the marriage was in trouble was from 15 years ago. You have the sister of the victim saying the marriage was good and AM adored Maggie. Every other state witness has said the same! That he loved his family! There is NO evidence of marital trouble or pending divorce. Rumors are not evidence. IMO

I tend to agree. Yeah he was a fraudster and financial criminal, but I haven't seen any evidence that there was this marriage in tatters on the brink of destruction. MOO

When AM asked Ms B to send his insurance card, was that the morning he set up his assault with ES? If so, why did he need the card? He wanted to die. Is this why they solicited that testimony from her?

Here's some info on the successfulness of an appeal reversal: Less than 7% for Criminal. Alex and Company can appeal until the cows come home or until Alex's money runs out. Which I believe it probably already has after paying Harpootlian and Griffin.

Perhaps you misunderstood my post.

It doesn't go to motive or character. It goes to a pattern of obstruction. Obstruction is what happens after the fact to cover up a crime by the guilty party. Evidence of obstruction is strong evidence of guilt. For example, staging a crime scene. Creating a fake alibi. Tampering with witnesses. Lying to investigators. Destruction of evidence.
Alex Murdaugh, check check, check, check, check.

Is anyone else shocked that Marian confirmed that Maggie was aware of AM taking “pills”? And Paul was a “little detective” checking up on his pill stashing?

I really didn’t buy the opiod angle. I’m still not sure I do.

I am shocked. I thought it was another bunch of baloney Alex was using to excuse behavior.
Yep! I’ve been on the opioids as a red herring since Harpootlian claimed as excuse

I'm so pleased to read that Maggie was well represented by a person who loved her today. I understand her guilt at encouraging Maggie to go to Moselle that night, but I one hundred percent believe if it hadn't happened that night, it would have happened the next day, or soon after. Someone had been thinking about it for a long time.

To me, it sounds likely that Alex abused opiods, but that is quite a different thing to being an addict. I have some friends who think it's perfectly ok to use recreational drugs every now and then. There seems little evidence of addiction, to opiods at least. (I think it likely he was quite a heavy drinker, and gambled more than he could afford/control)

The defence suggesting that it was Paul is low.
Yes, if part of their defense is a lack of motive on the part of Alex (I do not agree, but that seems to be their position), then positing that Paul did it is puzzling -- what would Paul have to gain by committing a murder/suicide?

MP testfied that her sister ‘was happy.’ There has been other testimony that they were ‘lovey-dovey.” That’s a big deal IMO. I no longer believe there were any serious problems in that marriage.
IMO, I still think there could have been some serious marital strife particularly with AM's pill habit.
Sometimes when you are living with an addict, there tends to be a sense of shame that you carry and a need to be secretive about the addicts habits and their actions concerning those habits. You, in effect, become just as addicted to hiding the problem as the addict is to their addiction.

If it was so bad that PM had become the 'little detective' when it came to searching out AM's opiods and even if MM's sister was aware of that and the addicition, she still might not have been privy to everything that MM was going through when it came to all that. MOO.

Yes it was Saturday September 4.

They didn’t say what time he asked Blanca to text him the insurance card.

It was the same day that his friend Chris Wilson finally got to confront AM about the stolen money. He met AM at his Mother’s house around Noon.

At 1:30 p.m. 911 dispatch received call from AM saying he was shot.

Yes and Blanca said he called her early Saturday morning to get copies of the cards.

Jurors in the #AlexMurdaugh trial will be given COVID tests today. On Monday, 2 jurors tested positive and were replaced with alternates. Judge said the panel would be tested again Wednesday morning. Let's hope no more positive tests or they will likely have to put trial on hold

At this point the talk about infidelity is mute IMO, it happened and they both moved forward as best they could and burned the bridge as best they could. As for AM I'm looking at his actions before and after the murders including all the tactics he used to divert monies, blame, suicide/murder attempt along with all the investigator interviews. I'm not looking for the smoking guns, sat through that scenario in court in the past. My tool is to put myself into his mind as much as possible or as I say it "Embrace the madness". It's hard for some to accept that he did this since we don't have the problems and things that were coming to light before and after the murders. It's fine that we have slueuths on both sides of this fence to keep an eye on the scales of justice but I always keep an eye on the human side of these things and the lengths that many have gone through to hide, cheat, steal and kill for what they want to keep or attain or keep from the light of day. Feel free to embrace the madness and put yourself in the shoes of an extremely desperate man, JMO.

She was only happy because she was being tricked and schemed by him. Her world was about to be rocked as much as his.
very true. But she never knew most of what we know now.
