I cannot stand it being called a suicide attempt. People who are seriously suicidal usually accomplish what they are attempting to do.They are getting in the fake suicide attempt!

I guess I don't think of shotguns as being for home defense and when looking at the property and what it's used for, it's for hunting. I think it would be unusual to go hunting with various slugs right? I thought this is what was unusual. Reading your reasoning about the various slugs and what order makes me feel sick because if Alex intended to just wound Paul first and then kill him, that is even more horrific.
I will say if we have an intruder in my house and my husband is home, the intent is not going to be to wound him first and hope he leaves. My LE military husband is trained you don't shoot unless your intent is to kill. It sounds harsh, but wounding someone and hoping they leave or that you can get a second shot off if needed is risky.
Yup we use slugs for Deer hunting up here in MI. during that season but it will remove sheetrock and doors in a jiffy as well.A wise man once told me not to load my shotgun with slugs if I was using it for home defense because it is easier to fix the wall if you shoot it with buckshot than with a slug.... THANKFULLY, I have not been in a situation to need it, but I found his explanation interesting.
Might as well draw a ghost in a sheet. They are getting in the fake suicide attempt!
AM even helped describe a fake person working with a sketch artist.
But their shotguns were not for home defense. They were for hunting. Who goes out hunting birds and loads various things into the shotgun? I would think you load the bullets appropriate for what you are intending to hunt. They had a house full of guns and I can't imagine the shotgun would be first in mind for home defense. I know what my husband has at the ready for home defense and it's not a shotgun.
State is desperate. Speculation upon speculation. They got in the roadside incident. Smh.Wet garments in a cooler? Have we heard this before?
If your looking at protection purposes sure, hit em with a small round ball load to get moving then if need be throw the buckshot at them to do some real hurting.
The defense from the beginning has just talked to hear their head rattle!! They have brought nothing to the table and I don't expect they will. There will probably bring high priced out of state experts to try to impress the common folk they deem to be on the jury. DH and JG are easily impressed so should everyone else. That's ok, it has to be hard to represent this person, even to be next to him. They are not giving the jury enough respect or credit, IMO!!Feel like the defense is just sticking fingers in the same ole holes that have been there from the start, maybe a few new one's. I don't find it riveting but just the defense stepping up to the mound with a different bat hoping for that home run trying to hit within their happy zone. With the Titanic within view I'm reminded of the bad rivets and steel that were used in the area of the rip that took it down, Defense can't use bad "riveting" rivets and steel to keep their ship afloat as well. IMO just feel like I'm getting a reworded version of what the defense has thrown around already but we all must continue to go with the ebb and flow of this case/crazy train.
He reminds me of a bumbling old professor with his shuffling of papers and looking like he’d trip at any minuteMeadors makes me so nervous. I’m afraid he will slip up and cause a mistrial.
I like to hear that when a couple has a safe home protection planned worked out as my better half and I do. Nothing worse then folks running around like crazy chickens when an intruder is in the house. My lovely lady has her 9mm and I still have my military issued 45cal, it will stop em in their tracks. If all fails then out come the shotguns lol.Exactly. And my husband and I had to work this system out to both our satisfaction. In our size house, buckshot is going to be lethal in most cases, or nearly so. Whole situation is awful and we actually think that our alarmed and camera'ed house is one of the least likely to be chosen for a home invasion, but you never know.
We are not hunters, whatsoever. We're both pretty good shots, both of us grew up with guns. I did target practice in my parents' back yard - with a .22 But the shotgun and bird or buck shot means that I don't have to worry quite as much about being an ace. That's why a rifle is less desirable for us (not to mention that any high powered rifle - anything above a .22 would go right through any person inside our house - and possible kill someone else).
