IMO, when shooting PM, more likely AM shot from the hip than from the ground.

This makes sense when you consider the close range.

If AM had fired and ducked away, then pops back out in an aggressive pose, the victim is right there close, and he no doubt fired the second shot without in reaction without aiming

There was no time to shoulder the weapon

Yesssss!! That pops into my mind every single time they discuss guns and hunting. They shoot dove and quail and I'm guessing you'd have be a decent shot to hit them since they're small and will fly away quickly. And any game that you want to eat you surely don't just willy nilly blasting away at them. MOO

Well, if using birdshot, you don't have to be *that* great with a gun. And if you're hunting bigger game, like deer. then two shots (buckshot to bring 'em down and then a slug to finish 'em) is common enough.

Sorry for the graphic image that brings up.

And on a slightly different topic, I thought we heard testimony that the missing guns were likely equipped with shoulder straps? Meaning that shooting from the hip might have been common for these hunters. No one likes a sore shoulder.

MOO.

I honestly don't think AM knew about the video. IMO, AM moved PM's phone around 10:18 pm while he was on the phone with 911, and saw that Rogan had sent a text, and that is the ONLY reason he was trying to call Rogan. IMO, AM wanted to know what Rogan knew.... as in.... if AM had been with PM at certain times, etc.... IMO, if the female PM had been texting with had sent a message that showed on the phone, AM would have been calling her to gauge her knowledge...

All JMO.
Exactly, AM was checking the preview on the screen of PM's phone. He did the same with MM's phone and saw Rogan messaged MM too.

I believe PM and Rogan first attempted to facetime but signal was bad at Moselle so instead, PM recorded the video that did not transmit. MOO

ETA: Rogan & PM phone history

Dr. Kinsey was a great expert testimony witness, IMO.
Harpootlian tried to shake him and confuse him and he didn't get anywhere exactly like when the ME testified.

Really wish there was some kind of digital re-enactment of how this all went down.

The defense has an expert on their witness list who does crime scene animations

Couple of things. 9:06.

The tire impression on Maggie paired with the fresh GPS data on Alec's vehicle leave me feeling confident that the three of them rode from the house to kennels together in the ATV.

Then Alec did a little magic. IMO nearly simultaneously he used the ATV to dispose of Maggie's phone while using (MOO) a remote starter on his vehicle, effectively putting himself in two places at once.

Experienced professors are hard to shake, IMO.

When Alex is shaking his head while Kinsey was describing the sequence of events, it looks like it's because he is nodding his head thinking to himself, "yep, that's exactly how it happened, good job, sir." jmo

Sounds like AM was creeping/squatting somewhat around the doorway for that first shot then ducked back around then PM came to the doorway and AM was still crouched a bit for the second shot. Harpo looked ridiculous trying to almost lay the butt of the gun on the ground. What did a midget shoot PM? Oh no wait, PM shot himself, twice, after he shot his mother 4 times, with a different gun. PM wanted to use a different gun to kill himself. If the defense actually goes there, I just don't...umm...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ AJMO

DH should be the main character of the animations.

For some reason all I can think of it the old television show The Rifleman. The angle of the gun.
Mentioned that awhile back but much easier to shoot from the hip with a lever action 30-30 then a shotgun. One best hang onto the shotgun and tucked tightly under the arm and brace yourself.

Anybody got a timestamp for Alec's 911 call? I wonder if his abrupt "gotta go, gotta call people" corresponds to the timestamp on Paul's phone waking. I think, in the adrenaline dump after, Alec realized he might have a loose end. Paul's phone. Maybe that's why he hung up on 911.

Whenever he did it, i think he expected Paul's phone to be in a front pocket, hence rolling over, but I think Paul's phone itself might have given away its location -- lighting up by movement or notification. I think Alec wanted to make sure it was locked... confident then that nobody could ever breach that. Locked up tight.

I think that Alec had blood on his own hand when he reached into Paul's pocket. And GSR.

Wet shoes.

I think Alec hung up on 911 to get at Paul's phone, barefoot. Washed away his footprints, hung up the hose, badly, and put his wet feet back in the shoes he was wearing when LE arrived.

I'm curious of where they would put their weapons when they were down at the kennels. We know they often road around with a weapon. I feel like whatever was going on before he shot them was business as usual in Paul and Maggie's minds. So if he wanted to surprise them, I'm thinking wherever those guns were at is where they typically would be. We know Alex leaned the gun up against his truck because that is what he told the officer when he arrived. Did they lean those guns up against the wall outside the utility room? Then when Paul goes in and is busy and distracted Alex grabs the shotgun and then he can easily pick up the rifle after shooting Paul?

Interesting...I've always wondered why he just didn't throw it in the river on the property
