Is that the book that Lynn slipped to him?

After today's testimony from Alex, I'm thinking his pills may have played a bigger part than I thought before. I think there was some truth in what he was saying about his timing for going down to the kennels.

Alex said that Paul left while he and Maggie were finishing dinner. Then after they ate, Maggie asked Alex to go to the kennels with her. He said no because he didn't want to get hot after he'd just showered so Maggie went without him. Then he admitted that within minutes of Maggie leaving, he changed his mind and left for the kennels.

What if Maggie and/or Paul found a stash of pills while Alex was showering and removed them without him knowing. Then when Maggie left for the kennels, he went for his pills. Minutes later, when he realized they were missing, he went in to a rage, hopped on the golf cart and went to the kennels to get them back. He may have confronted Paul and killed him because he was furious his pills were missing. He was furious with Maggy too. That may explain why he admitted he tried to turn Paul over (because he was looking for his pills).

My father (WW2 veteran, from the Plains) would not tolerate it. He said it was un-American. Customs do not always translate across even our own nation, much less the world.

He said calling people "sir" in particular was a military thing and he, though a patriot and a decorated veteran, did *not* want military methods used in polite company.

And my mom's family (Southern) totally agreed - citing this as a reason to leave the South. We're not all Anglo-Europeans, though. If someone uses "sir" or "ma'am" for every person of the same rank, I find that okay - but I don't like that people have to telegraph rank. So, growing up, all of us kids (cousins to the Nth degree) were banned from using it and taught it was a sign of hierarchy.

Cultures differ.

IMO. (I personally try to tolerate ma'am and sir, but...it's not culturally a part of my own Western US community - nor many European or Latin American communities - I haven't been or studied elsewhere).

People cut Americans a wide swath, fortunately, as we all make mistakes when abroad.

I grew up and continue to live in the Acadiana region of south LA where many of us can understand and/or speak French. My father was a WWII veteran and English was his 2nd language. It’s quite common in our area to address other adults by using sir/ma’am. I guess it’s part of our French heritage and being educated by nuns.

According to Colleton County authorities, Murdaugh is staring down this misdemeanor charge in the aftermath of receiving contraband material from a family member earlier during the trial.

News of the misdemeanor was first reportedby Avery Wilks of The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier.

According to our sources, Colleton County sheriff’s office deputies had intended to wait until the conclusion of Murdaugh’s double homicide trial to formally charge him with the misdemeanor but for some unknown reason the warrant was entered this afternoon.

People should never underestimate the desperation of a narcissist, pathological liar, who is about to be exposed by those closest to him. It reminds me of Mark Hacking, who killed his wife Lori when she discovered he had been lying about being enrolled in medical school. She was 5 months pregnant. No signs of domestic violence, they were a loving Mormon couple by all accounts.

I definitely believe AM has got a lot of people still fooled despite the fact that there is a ton of evidence that he's a horrible person, even admitted all his financial crimes and yet people still feel sorry for him - that is quite a talent or a Machiavellian display of evil, depending on your perspective. He's very smooth a lot of times, I'll give him that. There's a reason he's gotten away with everything he has for so long, he's a great manipulator and bamboozler.

My thoughts exactly. I even brought up the Hacking case on other social media platforms. Thank you for this post.

Brought up in Miami, FLA and we were always taught to address our elders as YES SIR and YES MA'AM

I'm from the deep South and think of it as being polite/courteous. I've been fortunate to travel the world and try to be polite to all people I come in contact.

I agree and don't see why people are getting so hung up on this.

Gloria found AM drugs she was afraid of being fired if she told MM. people said she was pushed down stairs . PM took it hard. She knew to much! Documentary rumors were MM DID it

This is just great!!! The entitlement lives on, even in situations where you should be invisible and are being watched. I love that this emphasizes their major need for control.

he testified she would sign papers without question. IMO he would not have been able to do anything with something in her name only. her living arrangements are more than meets the eye IMO. FACT: her housekeeper testified she was upset about the upcoming boat settlement, some $30mil which she said even if she liquidated everything it wouldnt cover it. she had no idea of his thefts at that point. Her reputation and community view of them had shifted significantly and maybe she was going to try to salvage what was left of her life...without him. possibly made up her mind to dump him. just the mere fact her housekeeper said she revealed info she was concerned he was keeping financial info from her, if she was smart, she would have started the digging process. hey, in a divorce, he was in financial ruin which she really didnt know the extent yet. and sadly, never would.

I think he slipped up today when he answered a question with, "When Maggie asked me to leave....uh, when Maggie asked me to go to the kennels blah blah blah." I think Maggie may have asked him to leave at some point.
