A few points about Moselle and Maggie's estate:

1) originally Alex owned this and borrowed heavily against the property (from his favorite local bank Palmetto State)
2) Alex transferred the property to Maggie with a Quit Dead Claim, which transfers the property to Maggie, but all the liens remain (PSB still holds the mortgage)
3) Maggie is sued (with others) as part of the Beach lawsuit.
4) Maggie is killed and the property goes to her estate.
-- at this point most/all of Maggie's Estate is at risk due to lawsuits filed against her.
-- If money were left over the properties would go to
5) Alex, but only if not found guilty since in SC you cannot inherit from somebody you murder. If this happened, the property would become tied up in Alex's multiple lawsuits.
6) If Alex is found guilty, Maggie's sole remaining heir would be Buster. If the case had not been settled, Buster would be at risk for the Beach lawsuits, but not Alex's financial crimes. In practice, however, the estate would be tied up for years due to Alex's expected appeals.

I don't have a link since this is information I have accumulated from multiple articles.

The bottom line is that lawyers get rich, and everybody else gets tidbits.

He had 10 years of stealing and borrowing to pay bills because he never recovered from losses during the recession, why didn’t he ever file for bankruptcy?
He may have become 'addicted' to the thrill of pulling the wool over people's eyes who trusted him and seeing how much he could get away with and steal.
You can't do that when you file for bankruptcy. JMO

AM stated he took 60 a day... That dosage of oxy would be pretty toxic/fatal. It would impair anyone's ability at that amount, at the very least they would be drowsy, and with many other issues, such as trouble breathing. They would not be sitting up chatting away, like AM has been seen doing. Moselle had a landing strip, pretty sure all those pills were part of drug trafficking. Also, with the amount of drinking AM did, combining the opioids with alcohol (opioids suppress your breathing), in those amounts, with the drinking.... would have been fatal. AM cannot remember anything related to the murders but he CAN remember the number of pills and the strength of the pills that he took over the years.

I am guessing depending on the mg of the oxycotin since it comes from 5 mg to 60 mg forms (60 pills goes from 300 mg to 3,000 mg). Much like heroine and other hard drugs people build a tolerance. Still shocking how many he was taking and functioning as he was, but working in the medical field the body is amazing on how it works and amazing that we even function at all.

According to what's posted on this thread, Maggie's estate has settled its portion of the Beach lawsuit. I'm not aware of other lawsuits against her.

I think her estate will indeed become the funds from which Alec is forced to repay his victims. I can't even imagine the amount of court time it will all take up. Of course, it'll be very hard for people on the Murdaugh side of it to come up with the funds to try and get any of that money.

This case is one for the history books.

IMO.

If already had the shotgun he didn’t need to go get it like he told dispatch.

Have you ever followed any cases of family annihilators? I don't see how people can't make the connection between your life collapsing and killing your family. It happens ALL the time
Exactly. Anthony Todt. Loss of reputation and financial position.

The flower pot & bike were staged by the go to guy, John Marvin. So obvious & so sad. I truly believe the entire family is disgusting. And, Maggie is/was just an afterthought. Thanks loving sister, Marion! Not!!
MOO
And the chicken dog toy placed at the kennels today?
What was -mr goodie guy thinking- ?
A chicken was in the dogs mouth heard on the video moments before the murders!

Disgusting EVIL

Wow. Thank you for posting. The dog kennels look way more humane than I had pictured them.

I had pictured it even worse (I didn't realize each dog at least had a little cubby and a wee little roof). However, it is still really awful. My dad and uncles were hunters (although all of them renounced hunting later in life) and always kept dogs, but, well, the dogs were treated like children and always slept indoors (which my Southern-born but California-raised mother thought rather suspect but for my dad, it was non-negotiable; my grandmother was appalled that two of her daughters slept with dogs in the house). All the dogs in my larger family pretty much lived indoors, unless they wanted to be outdoors.
Yeah it's still jail, MO

What do body language/behavior analysts say about one rubbing & scratching their chin?

A shame someone didn't try to re-inact the 19 second record setting sprint from the truck, to taking the pulse from two dead people a couple of yards away from each other, and then sprinting back to the truck run!

And worse, I don't think someone wanted the media there. Which means the staging was intended for the jury.

The hog. The dog toy. The item on the table. The bike. (That bike hasn't been sitting in the elements for a year -- someone put it there.)

Showmanship?

Weird.

Dunno, but I'm wishing they'd done forensic analysis of water use at Moselle.

There's a lot of things in the "should have done" category, I think. AM did a great job selling his friends and neighbors on his victimhood, which is a natural thing for friends and neighbors to feel. His family still supports him. I would love to know what his defense counsel really thinks about him, though.
