Okay, we know AM is a liar. Stick to the facts of the case.
Perhaps his lying is ultimate revelation….consider that murderers rarely are truthful. They are consumed by self-importance. Lying is a linchpin to the case. Liars succeed by making others believe them. Sticking to the fact that AM has made a career of lying to honest people is powerful. So, cmon, really?

Me either. He laid out a fine case based on speculation but that’s all it is. Up to defense to provide alternative speculation. Still winnable for them, though uphill battle. There’s lot of doubt about whether he did it—probably he did, so the question, is the doubt reasonable? State is basing so much of its case on his being a liar—really irrelevant to the specific act—and the timeline, but the real question about the timeline is how he could clean himself up so quickly within that timeline. He killed them then was quickly on the move and yet still managed to get rid of virtually all forensic evidence. Not likely, MOO. And they insinuate the murder weapons had to be his, but no real proof of that, especially with Paul’s weapon missing a long time. Not feeling it.
IMO I am not as passionate as many are as to the outcome of this trial. But I am curious as to what the jury is going to decide. Either way, AM is going away for life for one crime or another he has committed. I might add, it is my suspicion that there is so much more that remains hidden with these corrupt people and those they associate with.

Sat on a jury in the 70's with the prosecutor using the same worn out “tangled web” phrase in the same dramatic way.....ended up a hung jury.
The Defendant said it about himself, the Prosecutor said that was the only thing he agreed with the Defendant about.

Agreed!

The closing might have seemed a bit long but... it's been a long trial with a LOT of info.

I hope CW gets a lot of "good" sleep tonight... he's earned it.

Pens are dangerous in jail--sharpened as a shank or knife.
Ahh yes they are. I was thinking he was allowed because he has all his files to work on his case.. guess I assumed he could use a pen. It is a nice thought to know he's headed to jail and can't even have his pen.

Imo, three hours isn't long for a 7 week trial.
It’s not about how long the trial took, it’s about how impactful you can be to an audience without losing their attention. Many people on this forum stated that CW at the end, summarized it really good, however if you have bored the audience for 3 hours prior to that, it’s not as impactful because some of the people on the jury have drown him out already.

I don’t think anyone wants to be critical of CW, I sincerely believe that most people want to see AM in prison for these murders and CW is one of the people that can put him there based on how he prosecuted the case. People that express criticism for something the prosecution does isn’t an attack on you personally or the people who are team Maggie/Paul, it’s just criticism in general because we WANT CW to do a good job! WE DO! Because we are on your side too!!! The reason I make honest comments about the things I see is because what I really care about is what that jury thinks, because at the end of the day, that’s who is going to put AM in prison, not you, not me, nobody here on websleuths.

IMO

What other media podcasts or video streaming services have analysis of the day in court that are more objective than the usual choices?
Fits News on YouTube has been my favorite

It may seem like Waters is touching on small subject's and even boring at time's but I've been watching closely and taking note that certain key subject's strike a nerve in AM as the jaw tightens slightly are he jots something down or leans to the lawyer to probably say it didn't happen like that. The slight evil grin appears only to show that those demons nerves are being hit as well. Like a day of a thousand knifes, none of them a killing wound but enough to slowly bring out the true man behind the self assured mask. I see a man doing all he can do to just not go into a rage and holding it all inside. Let Waters continue with those small stabs and cuts , more effective then one thinks.

No, he is missing the facts. JMO. But, I am good with the closing. It could have been stronger.

Long day for Murdaugh jury going to Moselle area and then the Prosecution's closing argument for the remainder of the day.

Yes. I wondered why they didn't have lunch first and then start the closing. I also forget where I read this, but I read somewhere that one of the breaks was due to someone on the defense team falling asleep at the table. I don't remember where I read this so take this as unconfirmed - I don't mean to violate any rules here.
We saw that on live! DH did nod right off and then it's like his head falling back woke him up.

Well my schedule will be too hectic tomorrow to watch the defense closing or the prosecution’s rebuttal but I feel confident that the case will be given to the jury to begin deliberations sometime tomorrow afternoon.

For me, it all boils down to the the time line - specifically from 8:49pm to 9:02pm - and leaves no room for reasonable doubt.

I think pens might be a hot item for them.. I recall he was so excited to win 6 soups and 4 meat sticks or maybe it was the other way around over the football game betting.. maybe pens are a good for trading?
It might have already been said, but perhaps a ‘shiv’ as well? MO.

He lied about his alibi, pretty relevant to the case, presented all the facts of timeline data
Moo
I think the State luckily had that great apple bite of revisiting verbally the haunting Moselle murder scene back in the courthouse.
Followed by AM’s famous original lie-abi

MOO

This has been my go-to. Also used Drew's Live Blog in the MEDIA ONLY thread.

Executive Podcast Producer Drew Tripp, Investigative Reporter Anne Emerson, and former South Carolina Attorney General Charlie Condon on Feb. 28, 2023, recording the podcast "Unsolved South Carolina: The Murdaugh Murders, Money & Mystery." Production from Maxwell Harrison.

Alex Murdaugh is a former South Carolina attorney accused of killing his wife and son in what prosecutors say was an attempt to avoid discovery of multi-million dollar financial crimes.
