Pau Pau had the last word…

It's a team effort and thank all of you as well and the chicken despite having his up's and downs. We all hung tight to what we believe and it showed along with the jurors who should take a bow, we salute you.
You're the best, Edvis! Thanks for conducting the virtual allegorical drinks car for thirsty travelers on this journey, it's been one heck of a wild ride, with thankfully no major derailments.

The circled man in the centre sat behind Alex throughout the trial, the Bailiff. For the verdict, he wore his uniform, stood directly behind Alex, flanked, and he slapped the cuffs on Alex as soon as the Judge said convicted. After Alex was led past the jury out of the courtroom, defence and prosecution lawyers shook hands. Their lives go forward. Alex's life stops frozen in time on the night he shot his wife and son in the head, twice.

As soon as he was surrounded by officers for the reading of the verdict, everyone in the room knew the verdict. Those officers wouldn't be there if he was not guilty or hung jury.

BBM. Yours words are so true.

Those beautiful souls who were in his life for years. He erased them in minutes.
It’s not like he killed them via a car crash.
He (with aforethought)executed them.

One question...Why didn't AM take Paul's phone and make it disappear?
I think that at the very moment he picked it up, he suddenly panicked, worried about the possible technology/apps that Paul might use that Alex wasn't familiar with. As in, "oh sh*t, what if the phone scans my face? Does it store that kind of stuff? What if I accidentally make a facetime call?" So he just immedietly sits it back down. I think in that moment he was flustered and panicked. Who know, maybe the reason why he flew back home so fasr was because he decided he SHOULD HAVE gotten rid of the phone.

Probably not. He'll be allowed to make his last appearance in civvies wearing -- wait for it -- the blue shirt that was missing!
The elusive Vinnie Vines!
The woman journalist from the WSJ who was in the Netflix series, has been here through the trial. I read somewhere that she is writing a book, so it will most likely be more inclusive than some since she was here to the end.
Valerie something I think. Was she the one that got to go to Moselle?
Yes. I think it was a mistake. I hope CourtTV apologizes tomorrow & says it has destroyed that part ( clip).
I could not believe what I was seeing.
Especially when the judge was telling them no one has to know you served on this jury.
Yikes.

Moo
I watched the video later (missed the live verdict…grr) and they froze the tape right before that part, although I could still hear audio.

Everyone head over to the rail car for night cap. lol
cocktail lounge car is rocking and will be open all night, get in here and shake the rails with us and the chicken is passing out free eggs, not asking where he got em but oh well lol. The sleeper cars are available if you get a touch typsy so enjoy the well deserved evening

Absolutely. Even though seen by some as a “complicated” victim, we have to consider Paul was a product of being raised by AM. If I had a nickel for all the troubled kids I’ve known raised by old money, so called “untouchable” families, I’d be filthy rich. He was a victim of AM long before his murder.
<modsnip: not victim friendly>
Such a sad ending to what could have been a great, dynamic, positive influence in the community but it turned to horror instead.

Exactly! He summoned them to the fateful property, escorted them to their death scene , and did the execution.
Then as he put it, "I got outta there."

And, remember that AM was the one that said the dogs were not alerting to an intruder when he was at the kennels. Neither did the guinea hens, evidently.

Thank you for your input on this journey as well, all have really come together here to make a case outcome more positive. We came close a couple times swinging this train around some corners but the ole iron horse hung on.

Any thoughts on how long his sentence will be?
The minimum sentence by statute is 30 years.

Considering a double homicide with weapons used, my money is on a life sentence.

Even if a mercy sentence at the 30-year minimum, AM is age 54 and life expectancy in prison is not going to see AM leave with those bars behind him while breathing. MOO

Sounds like a script for a movie! The sound of the cuffs were definitely heard. No folded jacket to hide behind any more.
I hope when he shows up for sentencing, the CONVICT is wearing an orange outfit!

This jury deliberated from 3:50 to 6:41 (even less if you subtract how ever long it took to fill out the forms and hand it to the baliff)

So approximately...

2 hrs and 51 mins

I still can't believe it:oops:

Woohoo!! I was shocked at how quickly that verdict came in! I've been traveling and was just about to dive into Thread 36 when I saw the GUILTY tag on the newest thread and was like Ohmigodohmigod!

I had completely prepared myself for a hung jury thanks to all the talking heads and some of the naysayers on social media but so happy to be surprised and that common sense prevailed!

Now @Edvis serve me up a double Tito's and soda with a twist and let's keep this party going! Cheers to the prosecution team!

I've mostly had to skim/read each day of this trial, didn't get the opportunity to watch much. Thanks to EVERYONE who has posted. You kept me up to date on everything and I really do appreciate it.

@arielilane , thanks for consistently posting updates throughout each day.

@Edvis , thanks for the fun of the bar car but also your caring demeanor throughout these many, many pages of info and conversation. (I hope you are recovering well from your surgery!)

And, again, thanks to each of you for weighing in and posting updates.

My heart goes out to those truly affected by this tragic saga that has spanned so many families, so many friends, just so many people in general. I think Buster had no choice really but to toe the family line but I hope this conviction will ultimately set him free to find a new path in his life. I do feel for him because he has basically lost his entire immediate family. That reality must be crushing and I wish him much luck moving forward.

MOO.

Thanks to the jurors in getting this morally void criminal into prison for as long as possible.

I truly believe had he not been heavily suspect in the murders from the beginning, and ended up being exonerated, he would be capable of more murders of people who were standing in his way to freedom.
Yep, if you can murder your own (supportive) wife and son, then you would truly stop at nothing.

You do realize that you kept our morale up. My husband says I was down low right after the jury went out - saying I feared a hung jury. I was so demoralized.

I thank you for all the things you did to keep our spirits up.
We all leaned on eachother and I just threw in a train, chicken and groovy bus ride to distract some when things seemed dim.
